  • This Spring has been a very busy time hatching eggs for us. Although we've tried to keep up with all the eggs under the hens, sometimes we miss some. This beautiful Silkie hen is sitting on a few eggs and a surprise!
    Happy Mothers Day to all the women. Even if you don't bear the title of "mom" you are very special. You have a gift of caring for people and I love you for that. Thank you for being the glue that holds families and friends together. God bless you.

    Hi Blake egg shell by it self is good for tomato the calcium prevent blossom end rot. I think vinegar is acidic and if you are using leaf mulch that in itself creat an acidic soil.

      +Gapeys Grub What kind of chickens?

    • @gapey
      @gapey 8 років тому +1

      +Blake “Daddykirbs” Kirby Well the eggs in the incubator are a dozen eggs I won on instagram from Cedarcrest Farm but they are not doing well. Not easy hatching eggs that have been shipped... I put in 4 svart hona, 2 olive egger, 2 ameraucana, 2 jubilee orpingtons and 2 isbars but at 2 weeks only 2 svart hona's are still developing. I also put in 2 F2 Olive eggers from my own flock and I think they are doing ok.

      +sayed ali hashim (abo shoog alsayez) The larger chickens are more aggressive in the nest box than the Silkies.

      +florie Brown I have treated a lot of eggshells with vinegar. Stephen Lagaree from Alberta Urban Garden suggested that it was needed because it wasn't doing what I thought it was doing. This year, on the Peppers, I chose to only use dry eggshell powder without any vinegar. Once I better understand the science of that I'll put it in a video.

    you should not touch a hens egg if you want to hatch it. she could smell that somebody touch it and she will no longer sit on it because she will think you changed it.

      Chinior Sotelo actually that is just a myth, birds have terrible sense of smell.
