God damn man this rips. Right there with Aeon!!!!! Would love to see your reaction to Distant-False Gods. There is a drop toward the end of the song that is so hard that it literally hurts my ears every time I hear it.
So glad you reviewed this song because I had no idea they released a SECOND one too. This one was a fucking banger. The drummer's name is Gaku, and he's a fucking monster
The reason why I love this band is for the simple fact that they can pretty much do an genre they want to. They even had a full on rap song on their last album.
The drummer does it by rolling with his feet (right right left left) using the heel-toe technique, instead of plain alternating (right left right left). This is leagues easier on the stamina.
It's interesting that you mention that crazy high scream Ryo does in this! I remember at the Neon Alien Tour last year he did this same kind of scream at the end of Aeon. It was chaotic and terrifyingly beautiful.
I can’t stop listening to their stuff. Between Crystal Lake and the new Boundaries album...I’ve essentially had goosebumps for months on end. Breakdown followed by breakdown on top of breakdowns. \m/\m/

Watch Me Burn is actually a very typical Crystal Lake song. Listen to True North and Helix. Tons of generic metalcore, experimental, and more "mainstream" tracks on those records. 'The Sign' is their best album for sure!! What sets this band apart is that they also write the most intense bangers, and don't give a fuck about appealing to just Hardcore metal heads. Saw them on their first ever North American tour, in London Ontario. Opened for Miss May I, Fit For a King and ABR. Grabbed a hoodie and talked to their rhythm guitarist before the show started. No one in line at their merch table. After they played, huge line. They absolutely stole that show!!
This song is the type that after this plays live they gotta give cigarettes to the crowd and collectively take a break. At the same time, give me more!
