We love this rig and all the upgrades from our Imagine travel trailer, such as auto leveling! The floor plan works better for us and our two large dogs, and it tows better than our 36 ft long travel trailer too. I hope you enjoyed our video tour. Good luck with your purchase.
We're picking up our 2023 337rls Friday!!! I'm so excited. I liked seeing your video of actual people living in it. I would still like to replace our D handle at the entry door with yours in order to have balance walking up/down the stairs. At a glance the dealer said it wouldn't retrofit, but maybe it will. Happy Trails!
Congratulations! Such an exciting time and experience! The dealer pulled our factory D handle and installed the Morryde Safe-T-Rail without any issues. Also if you’re getting slide toppers, they may tell you they can’t put them on the door side slide. They can. We have them.
Great tour of the 337rls it was very helpful!!! We are thinking of this rv with a combo washer dryer. We also want the Chevy 3500 single rear wheel 6.6 gas. We don't want dually or diesel and will choose a smaller rv if that is required. . Anytime i read about this a bunch of people always chime in even though they are just speculating. Looks like you are actually doing it. I was wondering how you like the towing experience?
Thank you. Glad you found our video helpful. We are towing with a 2500 6.6 gas. Our truck setup gives us over 3500 lbs payload. You’ll have even more in a 3500, I would imagine. This past summer we towed it up and down 12% grades with switchbacks in Cape Breton Highlands National Park in Nova Scotia, and she did great! Diesel guys are pretty strong headed about diesel and truth be told, I’d love to go diesel so nothing against these guys but a gasser is quite capable and you’ll get more payload with a gas truck over diesel. The one thing no one talks about with the benefit of diesel is easier access to fuel pumps compared to the gas pumps. That was a big issue for us when we went from Maine to Montana and back in 2022, but we dealt with it. Long winded answer to say you’ll be just fine with a gas engine. BTW we saw about 8.8 mpg average this past summer in over 4,200 miles.
@secondchancesrvadventures thank you, very helpful and great real world experience info. I know a diesel would pull it easier, but that is a nogo for us. Glad to hear the gas should be fine for us too. We retire in two years and our goal is no more than 2 or 3 hours a day on tow days. We want to see everything along the way. Safe travels!
If you’re planning on going FT in a 337, I think you’ll find it more than adequate for your needs. We full time in ours during the summer and never once felt like we needed more space. And we have two large dogs. We looked at a Solitude 310gk, which is basically the same floor plan, and the basement looked much smaller than the 337. We have plenty of space in the 337 basement. We got our 337 with FT living in mind, which is our goal as careers allow or upon retirement. I know what you mean about diesel. $9-10k add to the cost of the truck, more cost in fuel, and maintenance. Best to you in your shopping and transition to retirement!
If you check out our most recent video from our “Oh Canada” series, you’ll see the mountain I’m talking about that the truck handled towing with no problem.
We plan to part-time but a few months at a time. We have an imagine 2600rb since 2020 and thought this would be the TT for that. But now we realize we want more storage, door side windows, and love the idea of washer dryer. 337rls looks perfect for all that.
Congratulations on your new 337. My wife and I are looking at the 337, we love it. I have a question and a comment. Looks like you have a Sierra 2500 with the 6.6 gas engine. How does it pull the 337? Any idea what your towing MPG is? We have a 2023 Sierra 3500 with the 6.6 gas engine. We decided on the 3500 because the 337 dry is really close to what the 2500 is rated to carry, (not much capacity left over for cargo). I am curious what your real world numbers are with the the truck and camper loaded - ready to go camping. Have you run them over a CAT scale yet? Looking forward to hearing about your trip to Canada.
Hi John! Thanks for your comment and questions. Although you can never go wrong with more truck, I looked very closely at our numbers to make sure she can handle anything we throw at it. With over 3500 pounds of available payload and using a tow capacity calculator, I knew we’d be just fine. Even with our nearly 300 pound B&W Companion slider hitch with turnover ball, we still have we’ll over 400 lbs of available payload. We still need to get it on a CAT scale, especially now that we’re fully loaded for the summer so we’ll know more when we do that. We were way under with our Imagine last summer (according to CAT scale) and we’re not carrying much more than we did then. On this trip we’re averaging 8.5 to 8.7 per mpg and she does great going up and down the mountains. Tow-haul mode takes good care of us! Also want to add that we added Timbrens to the rear suspension and it makes for a better ride when towing. Thanks for following our adventures! Happy camping! Let us know if you get the 337 and what you think!
Can I ask you another question - regarding your Lectric 3.0 bikes being on the Swagman e-Spec rack I think you said you are using - Our lectric's are both step-thru models - would this rack work for those too? Or would we need that bar that goes across from the handle bar to seat bar? Thanks so much for answering my questions. :)
We don't have the step-thus so I can't say for sure. It does come with a post that you raise when the bikes are mounted on the rack. It sits between the two bikes. Two hooks that slide down that post to go over the bikes' cross bars are included. They also lock to help keep the bike secure. I assume they will accommodate both styles of bikes. We got ours from etrailer.com. They have great customer service. I would recommend you call them and ask. They can give you a definite answer. Happy to answer your questions, so you are most welcome. Sounds like we need to do a review video of the bike rack. It's something we are hoping to do this fall.
This is the camper we are considering purchasing and I’m so excited to see this video and to learn how you feel about it!!!

Very Nice
Thank you! We’re looking forward to Memorial Day weekend camping!

Thank you! So much to learn!
The only thing i would. Want to upgrade is disc brakes and that's easy to do hour per wheel then its perfect
Thanks for watching! We do have the anti-lock brakes, but yes, anti-lock disc brakes would be a nice addition.
