I‘m really looking forward to this project for for what I‘ve heard nobody has tried to do a printed neck so far and especially a printed headstock because it’s quite tricky to get it robust enough to not snap - so, we’ll see 👍

Fun project. I thought about doing a 3D printed body when I got my printer but I thought it would be a bit of a gimmick and not as good as wood. I've been reconsidering it and will probably do one soon. I think I will do a design that is difficult or impossible to do with wood. Something that takes advantage of the 3D printer capabilities. Most likely will still make the neck out of wood.
Looking forward to how this turns out, currently a friend is printing a ribbon shaped body in a jigsaw puzzle construction method which I will make and fit a telecaster style neck then auction off for cancer charities next year for the jurgscup2 . It's a free download if anyone wants the details and Chris doesn't mind I'm happy to share details

To share an idea I've seen if you'd be interested is to add 2 threaded rods in the plastic body under the area between neck and the bridge (or close to it at least) to prevent string tension from slowly bowing the plastic
Chris, love the videos! I've done some larger 3d printed constructions and I have to say instead of super glue, I'd recommend looking at a product called 3d gloop. It welds PLA and is a very structural adhesive, the best I've ever used.
@@HighlineGuitars I will say, the one thing I'm not certain of, and would take into consideration is how the welding aspect would change the dimensions of the print with any significant clamping force. It would be worth a test to see if there's any significant change.
Hello Chris, do you care to share you setup to route fret slots, feed rate, bit size and how deep you cut in one pass? Got my CNC router working couple of weeks ago and it has been fine. The first CNC machined guitar has emerged except the fret slots. The carrot, you will earn a subscription :).
