Crazy St. Maarten 747 Takeoff
Вставка
- Опубліковано 21 січ 2009
- A Boeing 747-400 operated by Corsair departing St. Maarten right over my head. Watch the rear wheels leave the runway right at the end!
• 747 St Maarten spectac...
same takeoff from the side view...the shadows from the clouds in my video match the ones in the link...should definitively prove its Corsair
This has got to be one of the best filmed 747 departure from St Maarten- well done to whoever filmed it WELL DONE!
I was just thinking that - and that I should share it again (and again... and again 🤣😍).
LOVE 7.4.7 f o r e v e r ❤️
This take off is 100 times more exciting than any landing I've ever videotaped at SXM. This is like the Holy Grail for plane watchers on St. Maarten. Thanks for posting!
10 years later. Still the best video on UA-cam!!!
15 years now wow
And if he fails to rotate, you will have great footage, but you'll never see it
pjdsa rotation is when the nose comes up and the airplane (hopefully) establishes a positive rate of climb
XD
It would be funny to imagine if it didnt take off :joy:
Rotaté*
Lol
Possibly the best footage of a 747 taking off that I have ever seen - sent shivers down me spine!!!
You got balls to stand there with a 747 coming at you!
It was hardly gonna crash 🫤
Agreed. I'm amazed he survived the jet blast.
@@acreguy3156why wouldn’t he?
@@NightReaperSunDestroyerOfGods7 As the plane flies over at barely 50 feet or so, wouldn't there be an enormous amount of wind, heat, and noise? He's pretty close.
@@acreguy3156 that doesn’t mean he would die
This is one of those rare videos of the aircraft taking off towards the beach
Yeah I know right? It’s seems kind of odd because that’s usually the approach
Thank you Captain Obvious!
No kidding sherlock
Imagine 300 tons of steel coming your way at 300 km/h
airplanes are not made out of steel
breakline Nah bruh, it’s aluminum
breakline Nah bruh, it’s aluminum
About 6 seconds after hitting full takeoff thrust, its too late for those people to get out of the way.
@@cherrykoolaid not 180 kph lmao. More like 250
That was one fully loaded Dutch carrying beast.
It's a corsair flight, it's fully loaded of French.......
Dude, do you know how to read? that's what what the person who posted the video say in the presentation of the video in the "about" part....
ImmortalSynn sorry but you're incorrect here. KLM does indeed have a dark blue stripe between the lighter blue and the white belly of the plane. I think you're thinking of old Corsair livery as from this photo, of a Corsair 747-400 at the same airport, you'll see that it does REMOTELY have those colours!!! upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/3/3c/Corsair_Boeing_747-400_Jurado-1.jpg
That is Corsair !
+TheReverses78 Corsair Or KLM both are nice planes and KLM does visit ST. Maarten too though.
Gotta love the colors
The engine howl slowly getting louder is the best build up ever
This has to be one of the best take off videos I have ever seen. Absolutely beautiful
0:17 "oh my lord..." moments of pure insanity xD
And at the time he says that, its already too late to get out of the way.

almost pissed my pants just sitting in front of the computer
Me too man! Lol
loooool
Didn't know that gen z already exists way back then
Why point your camera at the ground right as the money shot comes.
+427SuperSnake1 If you go to Sint Maarten you will realize that sometimes it's impossible to keep filming the plane, it's just tooooooo scary.
Been there. Its intense I understand.
+427SuperSnake1 yet you don't have any video. You fucking suck man.
@@mvd4436 Wtf that was uncalled for. 427SuperSnake has a good point this schmuck was a terrible recorder.
@@427SuperSnake1 So true he really had to do that and also Super Snakes are badass
This video is the best rush without having actually been there. Great footage. Thank you for posting!
This video gives me goose bumps every time I watch it....
That's what you call a really CLOSE TAKE OFF! 💪👌😎
My favorite video of that place by FAR! I want to go back there and film some more take offs and landings, super awesome place, I could stand there all day watching these birds fly overhead!
ua-cam.com/video/IecQdIP8tus/v-deo.html
The most beautiful plane ever (coming straight for you at TOGA speed) 😮
This got to be one of the best airplane takeoff videos! :)
All hail the KLM 747, the Queen of the skies!!! WE WILL MISS YOU FOREVER!!! 😭
This was Corsair
Awesome catch! Would you be okay with me featuring this in my series Weekly Dose of Aviation? Of course you will be credited both in the video and in the description. Thanks!
Somehow I always come back to to this clip. Closest experience I ever had was an Avro Lancaster taking off right over me in a similar fashion. Not quite the same, but I'll never forget it, and I'm sure these guys would never forget this. That scream at the end is priceless
Finally! I've been looking for Jim's Boeing 747 rotate over Maho Beach. It was AWESOOOOLME 🤘
WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!
HOOHOOHOO!!
FUCKING. AWESOME.
Um... you were right about the awesome... But you didn't have to cuss.
"Come on, what you doing" Flying a 747, he knows when to rotate :P
This is definitely the best St.Maarten Video ever!!!!
I really have to go there... this is the only airport I've ever seen videos of where you can get that close to a plane taking off or landing. Fan-blinking-tastic!!
ua-cam.com/video/IecQdIP8tus/v-deo.html
This is awesome!
Awesome video. Love it. Great audio and comments and screaming add to it. Wish I was there. Good job!
Holly crap, that's a very fast and short take off. Love your video!
Great video!!! can't wait to travel to TNCM
I'm not sure I could have stood there until the end. Insane!
Hell yeah dude!!!! One of the top 5 takeoffs I've ever seen!!!
How is this not number 1??😅
Here in 2023 and this video is still a masterpiece we all miss the KLM 747-400 😢
I want to see A380 do the same thing
I think the runway is too short for the A380 but it's still an amazing plane.
Heck no
Then engines are too weak lol.
Pascal ///M Power An A380 isn't that spectacular. A 747 screams while taking off, you can hear that in the video. An A380 makes less noise and takes off much easier due to the hugh wings. A 747 or Antonov 124 is pretty much the most insane take off you can imagine at SXM ;D
They say A380 has manoeuvre capability like no other plane, it can fly at encredible slow speed so despite the short runway perhaps the landings and take offs are still possible for A380? They never tried did they.
Hell of a takeoff!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wow, what a great take off. Great video!
I just love the laugh at the end!!! I keep replaying for that! xx
I wonder, can you really get that close to them planes still ? It's amazing.. I've watched so many videos of this airstrip.. its too cool!!! I hope to see it up close and personal myself.

😆HA HA HAOOO!!!
probably the best st. maarten takeoff i've seen on youtube. great shot taking off from the opposite direction that normal takeoffs happen there!
First time seeing this. They take off in the other direction from personal experience. That was so cool!
0:27, 0:28 someone says " Oh jesus". :D
That was an insane takeoff
Absolutely amazing video shot. That plane had no choice but to get up....wow
Reminds me of when I lived in Bahrain in the 1970s and we would stand at the end of the runway and watch a Concorde take off right over our heads; particularly spectacular at night too.

Imagine Aerosucre 727F would take off and overrun💀💀💀

Aerosucre=Hitting drunk people on the beach+saying carga instead of cargo 😂
it says carga because its in spanish.@@theaviationastronomychannel
Probably one of the best videos EVER on youtube...
Amazing! Reminds me of growing up in College Park, GA, USA near runway 9L-27R. They made us move out when it was time to build 9R-27L.
Alucinante
Ohhh some day ill go there, some day 😔😔. 0:27 is the point where your thinking "Oh....shit....."
If you didn't go you've missed out
I went to airport beach last year, and I have to say it was a memorable and exhilarating experience!
Till the end of year Dec 30' 2021, this cool video it's still great to watch 👍👍
You think that was crazy? Try seeing the Russian Antonov An-225 takeoff :)
I think I would have peed a little...
Me too.
Yes, it depends on the winds. The desired take off is the opposite way but it really makes no difference. When they're taking off the other way, they're landing from the end the camera was on. That's a trip, too. :)
AMAZING SHOT THAT!
MUST VISIT THIS PLACE.
AWESOME BEACH,AWESOME LANDINGS & AWESOME TAKE OFFS.
NEVER GET TIRED OF THIS 1!
SHEER BRILLIANCE.
OOH JESUS... WHOO,HOOHOO 😁😂😁👍👍
Wrong way !!!! ✈️👍🏻
+B.B. ✈ Aviation How is it the wrong way? Runways are selected based on wind direction.
Of Course- BUT 99.6% of all Aircraft take-off and land in the other direction.► RNWy 27 or 28~ Watch all the videos.!
That's why it's odd.....It's headed the "Wrong" way... !! ☺☺☺
+B.B. ✈ Aviation why the wrong way ??? some times winds are coming from the opposite direction and so they have to change the side of the rwy !!! that`s not often here but possible !
+B.B. ✈ Aviation LOL! I've never seen a plane take off in that direction at st maarten before. it makes more sense with the mountains to the east but well.. it must be the wind, right?
+B.B. ✈ Aviation That's not true... I've been to St Maarten several times and they switch directions daily, sometimes even several times during the day
omg this is amazin ;o normally they take off at the other side but not now , amazing !
One of the best videos on UA-cam. (imho)
Brilliant capture!!
I was just there last week for several hours and there was only one plan taking off towards the ocean (a very small plane). Thanks for the great video!
This is so freaking cool! That MUST have been quite a thrill
Great, Awesome, Damn really crazy take-off. Nice job from the Captain ! :D
Wooooooooooooooooooooooooow! I love to see Boeing 747s very low and very loud overhead rotation! Woo Hoo! Impressive! Yes! Yes! Liked!👏👏👏👏👍👍👍👍
And thats why I Love Boeing 747s very much!
I seen alot of these take off/land videos but I must say yours is the most dramatic.
I love to sit in the MD-11 during take-off. I always buy the cheapest tickets and usually sit way back at the end, and the noise and vibration, (and the good acceleration too), is awesome! I usually use earplugs during the flight, but not during take-off. : )
Holy GEEZ..you don't see THAT too often..!!!! wow.. great shot.!
I've been there it's my favorite place on the planet, I love peoples reactions when jets fly low!
It is a very wonderful that can't imagine you tube has presents the collections. I used this site to the world's progresses would happened. It is very useful to know that the all peoples. Thank you.
the woooooooooooooooooo at the end actually makes the video 100x better!
The best take off I will ever see!!!! :-)
Fantastic capture! May I feature this extreme takeoff in my next video? Of course with a link back to your original video. All the best to you!
quite possibly.....the coolest video on the internet
no room for ditching here.Been to st maarten 5 times now and visit the airport often when I'm their, and never seen the planes take off in that direction.Cool vid thanks for posting.
That there is a good comeback. It brings a glorious tear to my eye, damnit.
You mean the airport so close to the ocean :) Been there and its beautiful!
That had to have been an awe inspiring sight to see.
Ale kolosik,nad głowami,zajebiste,i ta prędkość,👍👍👍uwielbiam to 😂
747 beautiful plane awesome and unique video congratulations .
Great footage and the KLM 747starting in this direction is very rare.
Not KLM. Corsair.
@@catrachocolo no klm.
@@ethansaviation2672 wasn't Klm. Read the description of the video. It's Corsair

350+ tonnes of Aluminium (Al), with a Deadly Monster Size, coming to just Ram you, but lifts off as the v1 reaches sooner.. GOOSEBUMPS!!!
Just got back from there. The smaller planes are cool but I wished I could have seen one of these big boys!
even though sitting in front of the screen i became more and more anxious... right after "oh my lord" 0:18...:) great video and ur reaction too:)
The most beautiful bird in the sky. She deserves every bit of her title as the Queen. So sad production has ended.
Interesting as most aircraft land from over the sea and take-off in the opposite direction at this airport. It is an interesting experience landing here as the plane just seems to be getting lower and lower with no sign of the ground until it a few hundred feet from the runway. Not for those of a nervous disposition. The take-off is also interesting as the plane has to bank to pass between two mountains.
Great catch of this ionic KLM B747-400 . Thx.
It happened to me in Miami. I was standing in a traffic jam on 42 Ave right at the end of the runway. A very unusual late rotation of a Tristar (it was the 80s) I thought it was going to hit me.
Going to this place is still on my bucket list
Excellent video, I'm interested to know, was it the jet blast that pointed the camera down to the sand or was it a nervous reaction that the plane may strike it?
Imagine the starboard passengers in the Tenerife Pan Am 747 having the exact same view of a KLM 747 bearing down them. Gives me the shudders even watching it on here. 🥺
So they change it all according to the winds? That's pretty cool! Thanks for the feedback!! Because when I was there the planes were facing the opposite way so I had to hold on to the fence for dear life from the thrust....It was a ton of fun though....
This Place just made my bucket list!
Took my wife there a few years ago. It was fun to watch. The thing that made me shudder was the engine exhaust blowing across that road...the sand, and any little pebbles, looked like it would hurt a lot. But the crazies just ignored it. Very few wore goggles.
That's a cool video! I love to watch airplanes up close!
