This was number 1 in the charts for 16 consecutive weeks in the UK - so long that we all got sick of it! Fortunately it is a great song, Bryan is a great singer, and it was 30 years ago, so it was great to hear it again. Thank you Maggie.
I was a big fan of Bryan, but this song was on every hour and if you dared to change the channel on your radio or tv set, you had it more than once :-) A bit too much, even for a fan.
Bryan Adams is my favorite male vocalist of all time. Growing up in the 80’s and 90’s he was a staple for me. And just a side note, Bryan Adams is definitely NOT country… he’s good ol Classic Rock 😁
I compare his voice to Rod Stewart and since you mentioned Sting, definitely check out the song with him, Rod and Bryan singing together All for Love. Soundtrack of the Three Musketeers ❤
Absolutely you should do this song. "All For Love" is a beautiful ballad with three of the greatest singers to ever live in Adams, Sting, and Rod. Their voices mesh so well.
As a Canadian who saw Bryan live, it brings me great joy & warms my heart, to see his music still connecting with people. Bryan Adams is definitely 1 of our proudest exports of that era 💓💓💓
Miss Renee referred to him as a country singer! As a Canadian I have dispatched a squadron of Canada Geese to deal with her!🤣(Just kidding) Great choice for Maggie to cover, thanks for suggesting it. I hope the future selections include Summer of 69! Either the original rock version, or the later acoustic version he released.
Just started the video, but had to laugh when you were reading Bryan's wiki and discovered he performed 'Summer of 69'. Lol. My wife is American but we live in Canada. Last summer we travelled to PA to visit her family and Summer of 69 came on the radio while we were in the pool. None of them knew that Adams was Canadian, but he's made us proud for as long as I can remember. Gonna continue this now, hope you like it. Nobody has pipes like Bryan, and he's gonna show you.
He also wrote and sang "Have you ever really loved a woman." This was written for the movie Don Juan DeMarco that featured Marlon Brando and Faye Dunaway. There was also a young actor playing the title role who has since become a household name. The movie and soundtrack are worth investigating. Thank you for insights.
This is probably the absolute best power ballad ever. The simple but heartfelt lyrics. The many levels of emotion, from vocals, soft drums, and piano, to the buildup of guitars, harder drums, and organ. And then that line "I'd die for you", when he takes that last note up that half step while the organ fades...brutal. And if it's possible for a ballad to be a jam, the extended version here proves that it's not only possible, but factual. Bryan Adams is Canada's best import since maple syrup. And Rush.
You did the right thing Maggie by reacting to the version that was on the radio, I would recommend that always because that’s the version we fell in love with and spent our hard earned money on.
Bryan Adams , sing that song with his soul. Great love ballad . Heared it from Prince of thieves movie. Hands down , a powerful ballad. His voice is hits in heart damn it. Piercing.
The most likely reason you haven't heard him is because he is Canadian. His debut album "Cuts like a Knife" went multi platinum in Canada and Europe but never sold well in the US. His next album did well in states and produced several top 40 hits including a duet with the iconic Tina Turner on "Its Only Love". He has wrote a lot great songs and still has his great raspy voice. You may want to check out his performance of "All For Love" with Sting and Rod Stewart. The three of the best raspy voices in the business singing together.
Great song and Bryan still out there playing live and sounding great, Keith Scott just a brilliant guitar player. Looking forward to seeing him out on tour this Summer with Joan Jett opening!
from 83-91 Adams was one of the WORLD'S biggest stars. He shot into international stardom quickly. He just kept coming up with quick back porch rock songs the likes of Mellencamp, and then turn around and do the biggest ballads of the year. He wrote the theme to many box office hits in the 80s as well. (movie themes)
Another song by Bryan worth checking out is "It's Only Love", a duet he sang with Tina Turner. They sounded great together on that song. Another hit from his Reckless album.
One of my all time favourite artists. Seen him in concert 5 times. This song was the lead single for both the soundtrack album from the 1991 film Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves and Bryan Adams's sixth studio album, Waking Up the Neighbours (1991). So many great ballads. Check out 'Do I have To Say The Words'. One of my favourites.
Bryan Adams was my first concert, but that was before this song came out. He's been in my top 5 forever. When this came out I loved it immediately along with the movie. There is an exceptional duet cover by Boyce Avenue and Connie Talbot that is quite wonderful.
This song came out when I was on a family cross-country vacation, 11 years old, riding across the USA in my dad's van, and EVERY station was playing it. Country, rock, didn't matter. My sisters and I fell in love with it so immediately, we'd flip the car radio until we found a channel playing it. It was literally EVERYWHERE for months, until sadly people got sick of it. I still loved it, though. I had recently begun to take piano lessons, and this was the first modern rock I learned on piano. Hitting those piano pickup notes sent my friends into a wild craze. His voice was so unique, his music so passionate, and his talent shined across the radio waves. It's truly a shame that he somehow fell into obscurity when he was so immensely popular.
All For Love from The Three Musketeers (1993) soundtrack had Bryan Adams, Sting, and Rod Stewart singing as a triad, and I think you would really love that song.
Great job with your reaction to Everything l Do I Do It For You from Bryan Adams and Yes this is the song From The Movie Picture Robin Hood Starting Kevin Costner .
I was 8 when this came out, saw the movie in the theater and immediately bought the soundtrack...only to listen to a different version for like...25 years. I thought I heard it wrong FOREVER (and a day).
Oh this song... Gets me right in the nostalgia... It was THE slow dance song for a young me at an age when a slow dance was peak spice. Still know the lyrics by heart.
His "Cut Like a Knife" is my personal favorite of his. With this being used for the movie "Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves" (where Robin Hood couldn't speak in an English accent) was a nice touch.
I so enjoyed your new reaction to Bryan Adams. I might be wrong but I never got country from Ryan. Maybe I don’t know all his music. But even his voice is a raspy rocker. Pop, rock. And he leads as front man many times with an electric guitar. Don’t take me word but Wikipedia him as you did at the beginning.
Certainly a unique voice. Something one enjoys listening to in a similar manner to Rod Stewart although the sounds are different. And the 70s style guitar work was right up my alley. Loved watching your reaction. You were really getting into it! (Looked like Poppy was too.)
If you watch any one of these reaction videos of this song and watch the woman's face when he says "I'd die for you" That's the real shit. That's why this song shot straight into the stratosphere and was #1 for, like, 1000 weeks.
definitely not a country artist but I 80's/90's pop rock icon, so many great songs. I remember dancing in the living room with an ex girlfriend to this song after our first date. Was a great Memory
This is a great song, I've been into Bryan Adam's for sometime. Radio at one time was getting so commercial that many times we never could hear the bands/artists we liked. Bryan however made it through that filter, an excellent artist with alot to offer. Also I know it's late; but Happy Valentine's Day 💗 Maggie.
This is my wife's favorite song. I sing it to her when we are on cruise ships, on karaoke night. The last time, it was on our anniversary and I was wearing my kilt (it was elegant night). I finished up the song kneeling in front of her, holding her hand. After the last note, I kissed her and told her I loved her. There were about 200 people there. The mc said,"Wayne, all the ladies are crying. They love you and their men hate you, now".
I saw Bryan when he was on his "Cuts Like a Knife" tour in 1983 when he opened for Journey. I had his album and had seen on MTV a few times. His show was pretty good but the crowd was there to see Journey and he came off as a snotty kid because we were waiting for the main act.
This was the main song from Robin Hood: Prince of thieves starring Kevin Costner. I remember watching it in the cinema with friends and the girls demanded we sit and watch the credits roll as this song was playing.
I saw Bryan in Philly back in 1983. This song wasn't part of his repertoire yet as he was just starting out. I think Cuts Like a Knife was his only known single at the time. I felt bad as people were throwing toilet paper at him. To put it into perspective, it was a 5-band show headlined by Journey. Bryan was the opener followed by the Tubes (niche band with a short life span), John Cougar Mellancamp who had a huge following by then, Sammy Hagar who later became the headman for Van Halen after the departure of on of the greatest rock showmen ever (David Lee Roth) and finally Journey. In all, about 7-8 hours of music followed by an insane fireworks display. I have to say, one thing we had in Philly were great all-day events when it came to music in the '80s & '90s. Every year there'd be at least one or two day-long shows with 4-6 bands. Back to original idea, i always felt Bryan was given a bad hand from music listeners. Was he rock? Was he pop? He was kind of in between and that can lend to many people not liking your music. Had he committed to something early on, I think he'd have gotten better responses from the crowds.
In the 80s, most artists were seeking approval and money from their record companies and all agreed to "sell it" bigtime. The emotive acting was all part of the show.
This was number 1 in the charts for 16 consecutive weeks in the UK - so long that we all got sick of it! Fortunately it is a great song, Bryan is a great singer, and it was 30 years ago, so it was great to hear it again. Thank you Maggie.
So glad you enjoyed! Thank you! 🤗
i THINK when robin hood: prince of thieves came out, i hadn't (yet)... and was uncomfortably drooling over will scarlet...
this was one of my favorite Bryan Adams songs
I love you
I was a big fan of Bryan, but this song was on every hour and if you dared to change the channel on your radio or tv set, you had it more than once :-)
A bit too much, even for a fan.
He poured so much heart and soul into his music. Great artist.
This is probably the greatest ballad of all time.
Bryan Adams is my favorite male vocalist of all time. Growing up in the 80’s and 90’s he was a staple for me. And just a side note, Bryan Adams is definitely NOT country… he’s good ol Classic Rock 😁

Yes. This!
Another YES from me!
I used to say that Brian Adams sounded more like Rod Stewart that Rod Stewart.

He is one of my favorite singers. Loved your reaction to this song, now you've just got to listen to his song..."Please forgive me!".
Love that song,
I'm so glad you loved Bryan and this song. I have more Bryan coming in the future!

This is actually the extended version of this song, which I love better than the radio version.
I absolutely agree with you, the guitar work on the extended version added emotional resonance for me.
Me too

Love this song and it sounds just as good in person. Saw him in concert twice, great shows.
When Luciano Pavarotti invites you to perform with him, you got it goin' on!
I have been lucky to go see him live, so many times, he sounds better live & never disappoints x x

This was a fun blast to the past. I really liked his 'Cuts like a Knife' which was rockier, and would like to see you review that one!
I love the movie that goes with this song even more, "Robin hood." One of the greatest love songs of all time. Great selection
He, Sting, and Rod Stewart did a trio song. Really wonderful. All For Love is the title.

Bryan Adams had the privilege of singing with Luciano Pavarotti. I'd recommend watching them singing 'O Sole Mio together.
This music was made for Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves Movie from 1991. There was a Music Video but it was lost and UA-cam took it out.
He did a duet with Pavarotti on O Sole Mio.
