The Decemberists brought me here. Really enjoyed your retelling of the Tain and the travelogue and sights of Ireland to accompany the story!

I hope you do a video about the death of CuChulainn. An epic story that deserves its own video.

Thank you! I was just (re) listening to the Horslips album, and happened upon your fascinating video. It really put flesh on the bones of the tale for me.

Currently studying for a folklore exam and came across your video. I really loved your retelling of the táin - taking the viewers on a field trip, making the story come alive in beautiful artwork and using the music to underline the drama. You’re a great storyteller! I think this will make it much easier for me to remember the the various plot points. Thanks!

Love this retelling of the story. For another perspective Pat Mills recreated a lot of these stories with his Slaine MacRoth graphic novels.

Now that was well worth a bit of a delay in a 2 hour soprano saxophone practice session, indeed! Loved it!
The moral of the story: When it comes to war, what the two sides are fighting for is often eventually lost and overall, nobody really wins.

@@unOrdinaryWorld I did get back to the sax. Thanks. 2 yours turned into 3 hours somehow, though. I'm not sure how it happened.
I see great things in store for you in the future based on a very solid foundation that you're building today. I just reread what I wrote and though it sounds kind of like a cliche, I really believe it.

Impressive story telling Ferdia, maybe you’re the answer to utilising the tourist potential of our historic trails.
I enjoyed the sheep chewing and the crow nodding in time to the music!

I hope that anyone watching this knows how ancient, and how much history is here, from the tale to the fields in the background. Those fields have seen so much. And Cu Chulainn is maybe the most overlooked ancient bad ass mf'er.
Because of Irelands amazing, and often times very sad and troubling history, I was born in the US and raised through foster and adoption agencies; had a chance 10 years ago to find my family... my families on both sides were on the periphery of this or possibly involved...(I say as assumed fact, since those ditches/bulwarks indicate there was really conflict at the time between Connacht and Ulster) since my mothers side were Tully's from Cavan---not Floods, but Teallach Eathach (to get into ancient stuff 1% of the population anywhere knows about, I guess)... and father was an O'Carroll, Ely O'Carroll, which claim lineage to Cian, the son of Ailill Aulom, whose dynasty was the rival of Connacht on it's southern border. Just the imagery of places I hope to someday see myself is excellent.
Nice video man! Excellent storytelling... I love stuff like this so much; sometimes I wish there was more stuff like this for a stateside audience, given the misconceptions or conflations/confusions or lack of knowledge Americans have on what is like 32% of our populations (White, Black, and Latino) claimed heritage.

Very interesting and captivating video and excellent narrations on the historical facts to mythology and vice versa, smooth and so clearly expressed with such passion! Love the cute sheep with its black face chewing! Truly enjoy this video with such intriguing story with the beautiful raw countryside of Irish heartland. The cave seems very low ,claustrophobic , though. And the artwork… pretty cool. Thank you very much Ferdia for this fantastic video ! Excellent work!👍👍👍
