4 years later, this M5 is still a badass car. A "well maintained" F10 can be had for 40k. A bargain price for such a wonderful machine.
I agree with you I have a M5 F10 in same color Monaco blue metallic since 2013 and I still love it and have the smile on my face like my first drive when I drive it every time on the autobahn. 😎

I just drove an e39 m5. I loved how smooth it was and I want to buy one now. I like theses, but I am amazed how much they depreciate. I have seen 2013 models in the 50's
yeah new models depreciate very fast, but e39s and e34s aren't going to go down anymore:) very good time to buy one.

Most of German car (expect porsche) depreciates like crazy. I would either lease or purchase a slightly used one.

+Snafu I'm so sorry man I was actually going to buy one but ended up finding a c63 tuner that would give me more power than the v10 but I still to this day regret not getting the m5 but after you say that it feels a little better
Great review - i currently have a 2013 535i Msport, definitely the best car I ever owned.
I'm surprised you didn't mention all the options on this car. Carbon Fiber interior trim and the leather dash are special options. He should of got the Competition Package - the upgraded exhaust alone is worth it imo.
Another great review Nick! Haven't driven the M5 but the M6 Gran Coupe felt very similar to what you're describing. Great cars!

Great review, Nick. The sad part is that it's almost impossible to use this car on US highways. One of the benefits of being such a wonderful high speed cruiser is destroyed by ridiculously low speed limits as well as lack of driving culture here. Almost make it pointless to own. Unless you're M5 fan to the bone. I love it though. But I'm a huge fan of fast sedans.
Hi Nick, just seem the video on the M5. I have just bought my second M5 with only 13 mile on the clock. Sytner BMW here in the UK have reduced prices from £87,000 down to £60,000 on pre registered cars because the new M5 is due later this year. I have had both M4 and M5, totally different cars but both awesome. Love the vlogs. Cheers Dave in Worcester UK.

Hi Nick, I have had 2 M3's an M5 with brake issues which BMW had back and put me into an M4, awesome car but a bit of a bone shaker. I love the M5, great power delivery and comfortable drive. My old M5 came from Sytner Newport and ex demonstrator. You are going to love it. Cant wait for the new one to come out. Cheers Dave
Dave Perry hi Dave , thanks for the reply I've had 3 m3s altogether 2 e92 and the f80 frm Cardiff sytner.then the m5 comp pack frm Newport and your right I'm loving the m5 for me it's a much better package and it feels a fair bit quicker , do u think it's noticeably quicker than your m4 was. My 2014 M5 still drives like a dream with proper maintenance. Great performance sedan!
The active seats are not there to stop fatigue or muscle ache. The purpose is to stop you from sliding when taking corners by pushing the side bolsters in the opposite direction. This has been an optional feature from the E60 model onwards.
Komor Uddin That is true for the E60 M5 The active seats in the F10 are for massage only. No active bolstering at higher speeds like the E60. I have an F10 M5 and previously owned a E60 M5

I drove alot of car but the m5 is far the best car I got the honor of having. Being honest this car is a beast on the road and you can have 5 people in it and it still go smooth. Yes I been lucky no tickets so far but who knows, when ur on the freeway it's like give me gas let's go. Lol 😂😆🤣 so addictive. O love BMW brand and if you get the extra coverage the maintenance is not a problem. You pay your deductible which my is 100.00 us dollars and it's covers bumper to bumper not the usual wear and tear but all electric and engine. They say to change the oil once a year but I change it around 4000 to 7000 miles because of the break down on oil. But that's your individual choice. No car in opinion is better than a m5. God bliss 🙏🙌🙌 you all. Much love from Washington State. Thankyou for the video. Well put together and telling the facts about this beast on the road..

Also I totally agree with what you said regarding the M5 in sport plus mode (suspension wise) and the M4 being more harsh even in the comfort mode. My M3 feels super stiff even in comfort while my friend's F10 M5 feels like butter in comparison 😂

I agree with mostly with your comments. I have one myself (with Competition package).
It's definitely a damn fine highway cruiser. I've done a couple road trip with it. And it's actually more fuel-efficient than most cars with that much power. I think it's actually the longer wheelbase that makes it easy to drive on highway, and comfy.

The extra weight is why it is more comfortable more weight keeps it planted. I have a 2014 F30 3 Series but I think next time around I will get the 5 Series as I always liked a bit heavier large car definitely more comfortable.

The CTS-V uses a Z06 engine (if you want to refer to it strictly by its Corvette application).

@@juniorjay243 price of a two year old f90 to mine yes, everyday of the week a better buy.crazy fast, comfortable msport seats which I love so buying a f10 now is a great buy and would deffinatly recommend.

@@juniorjay243 make sure if you buy one you get those msport seats,I made sure I got them as they are very comfortable.as an all round car it's the best I've bought and I had a 2018 m4 competition pack which was beautiful looking car but could not hold the power down,rear was all over the place so the power was useless and I've had a few mecerdes,good cars but not good driving cars,boring to drive infact.if your in the UK wait a few months with this virus alot of things will be dropping in price.
@@juniorjay243 f90 not worth paying £35k more as there is not much difference in power and the new mods of the interior and 4wd.i will get a f90 in two years as it will depreciated to the value of my f10.
Heard the BMW 550 was a little softer but equally awesome vehicle.

You missed the e34 m5 3.8. 250kw and that thing is a beauty to drive. One of the last hand built BMW sedans and as far as im aware approx 350 were made. 3 of them are in NZ

Nice Video Nick. M10? Slip of the tongue I bet ;). I used to be a BMW fan but two things I don't like is that the newer ones seem neutered somewhat, little to no sound and synthesized sound on the inside. Also they've really grown. That said, it's still an awesome car, have to give it its due.

mseekles1972 it's not available anywhere yet I bet since BMW is still perfecting it. It comes out spring 2016.

Drove this thing a few times and it's an insanely nice car interior wise, looks amazing very very fast. It's just not the same car it was 10-15 years ago. As a drive the e39 is just so much more fun. Would be nice if u reviewed one
Nick another good review, but how about testing something like the New 2016 Mazda MX5 Miata ND? It's great seeing all these mega expensive, powerful cars, but how about a reasonably priced car like the MX5 ND? Look forward to the test! ;-)
Mirror tilt on reversing is very useful IMO - at least in my car which only has 1 rear camera - lets me see exactly where the rear wheel is in relation to the curb - the M5 probably has more camera coverage so might not be so useful.
The humour with the head-rests was great~~!

I just noticed that the M5 doesn't have the fog lamps that the lesser BMW 5 series come with.Not a complaint but just an observation especially since the newer 5 ers come with LED fog lamps instead of halogens.

It's funny how you say "put up with charging" for Tesla. I think charging at home and having a fully charged battery everyday is a huge advantage compared to ICE cars.
Hi Nick, great review, as always!! I've got one question, how does it compare to the Carrera S in terms of acceleration? Not from 0-60, more like from 40-100 or 60-120.. I think that Porsche should up the power in their base models, even though they are lighter cars. For the price of a well equiped Carrera S one could easily get an M6 or SL63 amg or even a low mileage used Ferrari California. I personally can't wait for the new turbo engines in the 911 because it opens doors for easy and relatively cheap power upgrades from respectable tuners like Techart and Gemballa
+Vali Sechi I agree the new engines will open up a whole world of fun tuning. On paper the Carrera is faster but due to low torque the M5 FEELS so much faster.

Just get a 550i XDrive with M Package you save a lot more money and it's a much more comfortable ride and for people that live in snowy conditions it will drive perfect with that X Drive ride unlike the M5 that only has RWD.BTW the 550 is less rough of a ride.

I have had several BMW's ( have a BMW X5 now) and I am restoring a 1973 Triumph Spitfire. When I have room I would like to add a 911 to my list of cars. I have seen your issues you had with your Porsche. I love my BMW but always wanted a 911. How would you compare the quality build of your Porsche to the BMW M5 ? Thanks for your great reviews!
I drive e39 m5 with tune, appx 430 hp, and BMW is a great executive muscle car. only caddy cts-v holds candle to m5.

I can't help but compare this to a CTS-V. It's pretty similar in my opinion, they're both a big, rear wheel drive, v8 sedan. Also, the prices are similar. So let me ask you, which one would you prefer?
+Brandon sever No the CTS-V is SOOO much cheaper. 20-30k less for the same options and it is so much more powerful. If you over look some of the cheapness and horrible info/nav system on the CTS-V it is a bargain!

+Gipstetz I think like most people I loved the sound of the E60, it was amazing but everything else about it has been improved with the F10. The power from the V10 always felt underwhelming due to the low torque and the styling was never quite right in my eyes at least.
How many camera gears does Nick have?! He is even got a DJI Ronin! that is like a PRO level camera gear!

Woah woah woah a REQUIREMENT for all of my cars, as a preference, not required by law, is to have rear LED tailights on with LED DRLs on the AUTO section. I don't care how it's done, oem or not, it must be done
How come that M5 doesn't have the "M" side mirrors? Those are missing the wing extension at the top.
