Years ago I had the garret pro pointer and they only sold them in black. I then realized this was a great camouflage colour when digging soil. So I spray painted the thing orange and I wrote garret a note that they should make them standard in this colour. I never receive a confirmation mail or thank you from them. The only thing I noticed is that they changed the colour in orange...
Same here, but I returned my Garrett after the first day out dealing of with false alerts even with sensitivity all the way down. I went with the MI-4 on the suggestion of the selling dealer who did the exchange for me. Glad I did, the MI-4 works great and the rechargeable internal battery is saving me $$ on buying disposable 9-Volts which has been an added bonus.
I got a used one on eBay for $88 and it had the o-ring replaced as it was sent in for repair before being sold. I love mine and once you master the selectable sensitivity it's awesome!
If your gonna give a plug for SMI you may want to give at least some idea where they are, contact info, web site etc….. are you referring to the one in Langley?
It wouldn't stay on anyway. After a certain amount of time it starts beeping on its own thinking that somebody left it at a hole and walked off to it starts beeping like a location beacon so you can hear it and know where you left it. Then it shuts itself off to save the battery after a few minutes
If you are new to metal detecting, buy a Nokta Makro Simplex. They are around $250 (new). They are the best beginner / inexpensive detector in my opinion. You can take it underwater and everything.
Simplex is simply the best. I have the one with wireless headphones and my pulse dive pinpointer paired as well. When you turn the pinpointer on it silences the detector. It's an amazing set up for the money.
The only one I've found that is more sensitive is the White's that isn't made any more. The most reliable and durable is the carrot. 😊

I gave my carrot to a friend when he was getting started. Xp MI-4 is what I prefer. Thanks for the tip!

Agreed. The carrot is a great pin pointer. I have tried others since I made this video but keep coming back to the Garret.
Thanks for the information. Best wishes from Lancashire, England.
Great tip! Thanks from Australia.

Good thoughts. Will try to do that next time I give a shout out. Yes, the one in Langley.
Wow! Useful information! Thank you for sharing, sir. Respectfully from Eastern Europe :)
My pleasure :)
New sub here Trent! That's one of the best on the market in my own personal opinion!
It's the only one I have ever had. I like it but its good to know this little flaw in the design. I want mine to last a long time :)
Superb from 🇬🇧
That is a design flaw I will not tolerate . Thanks for the warning .
No worries. I have found it to be an excellent pinpointed. Just something one needs to be aware of.
Thank you for sharing that tip! Very informative!
My pleasure!
Great tip thank you👋😀
wow thanks for the info
No worries, I still think it's a great pin pointer but knowing the switch issue is important. Helps make sure it works for ages.
Great video and advice - Thank you
Thank you!
Great information 👍
Garrett “carrot”, huh? 😄🥕🥕🐇🐰
I had mine in the water all summer works great i found my first silver dime with it
Awesome! You have to love finding silver. Its always a happy jolt to the system !
Hey! Thank you dude! :)
Interesting. New sub here. Thanks for the info.
Sounds like a design fault
Another pro tip. Buy one from a different manufacturer

Do you have an old/unused metal detector you could send me?
Sorry mate, this is my first one. I would be happy to help if I could.

You should'a just axed him for $200 so you could buy one. 😆😂😁
Can you tell me how much you payed for it?
Taxes in, $200.48 Canadian :)
I just searched for this this morning. $127 is the cheapest I have seen.
@@rustyshackleford4338 USD? Sounds about right.
You'd think Garrett would resign it by now.
I suspect this may be a flaw in other pinpoints too.
