The F-89B is a plane that can do about everything as long it doesn't get fully up tiered.

One of my favorite talismans I have is on the f 84 b 26, even before the air spawn buff, it was a relatively strong plane if played correctly
F84g is even stronger as it is faster and are regularly downtiered to 7.3

This didn't really help me with my F-89B, but it did help to teach me that it isn't any limitation of the airframe, more so just my own ineptitude with it. Which while that stings and doesn't help, it does however aid me in the long run, as I can adapt and overcome my own failings and hopefully learn to have fun with it.
I like how when zoomed in, the tail takes up half the screen
It should be noted the guns are incorrectly overperforming, which has been passed to the devs so they might get nerfed at some point
The M24 cannons (same on the F-86K) are basically a Hispano Mk V / AN/M3, not an M39 like they are in-game.
yes and the proximity fused rockets have been proven to be wrong maybe two years back and are still in the game ... this is premium, they wont do drastic changes like that willy nilly, the most likely outcome is "passed to developers" is as far as that one will get ...

@@britishmilitary4life1 that depends on your game experience. It's nothing like prop gameplay. And if you struggle with props or aiming in general you will still suck with this like I did. But I've gotten better and I enjoy the speed and climb rate that this has. Just have to watch out for those su11. I'd buy it again though.

I would just skip the american F104s, they have 0 redeeming qualities and are easily the worst out of all the F104s in game
@@daddy_marx6823 yea, i'm not researching the F 86 F 2 i already suffered on the A 5 it's so sht that i would preffer play the F 80 C against the Mig 15/17.. i know the F 86 F 2 has better engine but nah i would research a 10.0 vehicle first and then i go to the Sabre line
@@TonnyH21 the F2 sabre is amazing, it's a shame you skipped it. The F sabres have an entirely different playstyle due to the better engine and tail, and the guns om the F2 are just... mmmmm

My favourite plane so far. A good mix of energy fighting, speed and firepower but balanced out by its massive airframe, clunky compression issues and lack of dogfighting skills. It’s not a brains off grinder and not a absolute power struggle to do well in it. 9/10 will be last person alive

The only issue with getting the F-89B is that its guns are actually over performing, being slightly modified versions of the Hispano Mk.5/AN-M3/T31. Their rate of fire, muzzle velocity, and likely the belts are all wrong. There’s a possibility that the M24A1 guns on the F-89B and F-86K will eventually be nerfed to their actual, real life performance. When Gaijin actually plans to fix this is anyone’s guess, since it’s long overdue; it’s possible that after another large influx of F-89 players more attention will be brought to this issue.

You're saying API is a good 20mm shell against air targets? I think that it's a fine shell if you hit a critical point, but HEFI works well even if you don't.
To be honest - Scorpion being 7.7 is not an issue by itself. You can't just uptier any vehicle and expect it to be balanced. What would help any vehicle would be something Gaijin apparently hates - BR decompression

Anyway - its issue is how easy it is to obtain it - just throw the money. And you have newbs with no experience in jets and sometimes even less in props driving such planes down because they keep dying.

I don't know what's going on with WT BR match making. I just played an arcade match just messing around with an 8.0 lineup and I saw 10+BR planes. lots of them. This didnt seem to happen very often or at all just 3-4 years ago, now it's very common. My 8.0 M60 faces top tier tanks on a regular basis. This is one of the big reasons that even though I have top tier stuff unlocked I rarely touch it. After 6 or 7 years of playing the game I still stick to 4-5.0 BR. Even at 5.3-5.7 I see lower tier jets on a regular basis. Whatever happened to the 1.0 BR spread being the way to go? Even that was bad enough when vehicles weren't in the right spot anyway. Years ago people were even suggesting a 0.7 spread which I thought would be a big help. Now we don't stay within a tier or even 2. After the release of the new (4th) battle pass news, it's like after all this time they still haven't learned a thing. Don't buy this plane on sale or anything else. I've been saying for a while now we have to hurt their wallets. It's the only way they'll notice us as the players who make it all possible for them. I enjoyed the first battle pass and though they were on to something. I bought it. It was a mistake and I regret it. Look how long before they spun that into a shitpile

Looks like I finally got a replacement for the A2D as a grinder. I completely get why it was uptiered but god damn I can't be bothered to deal with anything more than 262s in that brick made out of tissue paper.

in the past it used to go over a mach and out turn almost everything in 7.0....lol
I had the F89B before the sail and it was pretty fun to kill bombers, but now all the fighters on my team are F89s... Btw the F89D is trash compared to B in my opinion. It has slower climb time, it’s slower, it doesn’t turn as great, and the rockets while they are better than guns to a point, you can be more accurate with guns

Why talisman the F-25 when you can straight up buy the F-35 Sabre? You get the SL boost as well, at the same BR.

Its pretty painful to see how many inexperienced players play this plane and waste its good flight and combat characteristics to either groundpound with the F89D or turnfight pretty much everything.

If you enjoy the MF the bis is better in every way
The mirage 3E is dogshit and the 3C is alright. Good missiles but the flight performance is largely just a worse mig21

This is funny to me because in my opinion, the f-89 might be the worst purchase i have ever made in my life, it excels at nothing. Its the size of a planet and covers 3/4 of your screen, so situational awareness is out the window.
And like you said, it flies like a whale so trying to get out of someone's gunpath is out the window

Despite good gun, but somehow I do better with the slow fire rate on the m2 cannon or fast ones like vulcan... So weird

Fantastic grinder my ass, completely wasted my money buying this thing. It's good at climbing and literally nothing else. Going from German jets to this thing trying to grind US air all it's made me do is say fuck playing US.
The only thing this thing is good at is climbing. It's like the rocket ME 262s if they had worse guns, worse mobility, was easier to hit, and wing ripped in dives.

F89 B is absolutely not a good grind. This aircraft never sees 7.7 BR and 9/10 times you will be facing MIg 15’s and similar 8.3-8.7 jets. Which out class you by long shot.
It’s not a good BNZ aircraft, as any speed above 930 you will tear your wings off, the acceleration is abysmal, and slow speed in this you can’t turn for shit and will die quickly.
Save your money.
