  • How to do a tune-up on a GMC 2005 Yukon Denali XL with a 6.0 engine that uses a square block coil. I will show you how much it costs and how easy it is to replace your spark plugs and spark plug wires and some simple tricks and tips you should do. I've had this vehicle for about three months and it's runs perfectly,. About 4 days ago I started to notice when I accelerate it hesitates, the first thing that came to my mind was that the fuel pump may be going out. I could do a fuel pressure test to make sure that it is a fuel pump. but I don't know when the last time this vehicle has had a tune-up. So I decided to change the spark plug wires and spark plugs and fuel filter first, just to rule that out. repair pal says the average cost for a GMC Yukon XL 1500 spark plug replacement is between $227 and $279. Labor costs are estimated between $132 and $167 while parts are priced between $95 and $112. This Estimate does not include taxes and fees. You having a 6.0 engine is going to cost you more. So as you can see you can save some big money if you do it yourself. You can get these part at autozone or costless auto parts or on amazon or ebay. So this is video of how I change out the spark plugs and spark plug wires. But I'm 90% sure it's probably going to be the fuel pump or system. So stay tuned for the next video.

    Thanks, 👍. This gives me an idea of how my neighbors GMC spark plugs replacement will be. I was asked today if i could help do it and it looks fairly simple. Although, she has the 2004 year. I probably going to buy myself the spark plug boot puller, i don't have one and definitely need one because I'm always having trouble pulling my plug boots and slamming my knuckles into metal everytime i do my '05 ford explorer.thanks again 👍.

    Hey, so the manual says to use ACDelco 41-962, but some people say to use ACDelco 41-110. I've been using the 41-110 and I've had to change the knock sensor three times already. The engine light is still on. What do you think I should do?

    I just got don't hand tightening my plugs...I wish I had checked the gaps. I literally thought about it before starting but went off what they say: "they're pre set" and being too lazy to look for and find my tool that looks like yours. I hope I don't have issues.

    What if hesitation when start have new battery and new starter. Have never changed spark plugs or wires since I bought vehicle. Bad spark plugs could create it to hesitate to start correct?

      It can. Its not that hard to do. And its not that expensive. And you don't need to many tools. I would do it to rule it out. But i would first Check your fuel Pressure
      ua-cam.com/video/FPlfQAUv6Hw/v-deo.html
      to rule out a bad fuel pump. once you get a good reading , then do the tune up.

      Sorry i usually respond in the morning ,yeah i know its a bummer. it was a bummer when i found out it was attached to the fuel pump in the gas tank. it was a hassle to remove ( But... its really easy to remove, if you dont mind working on your back and smell gas,), you don't need any special tools. There are some youtubes that show you what to do. Good luck and thanks for stopping by.

      @@andreabraham7266 I had the same problem I called a few texts they wanted a hundred twenty five bucks to look at it. So I thought for a minute and what's going on is that the computer is reading as if you had the old plugs in now that you got the new plugs it's misfiring because the computer thinks it has the old plugs and still. So what I did was disconnect the battery I disconnected both cables and let it sit for about an hour and I connected the cables back on and what happened is that the computer resets itself. So I turned on the truck and drove it around the block came home turned off the truck. Waiting for about 15 minutes and went around the block again and the computer reset itself and there was no misfire. Try that it works for me thanks for stopping by and don't forget to like and subscribed. Save myself a hundred twenty five bucks

    No, no, no.
    Do NOT use anti-seize compound on spark plug threads. The days of steel spark plugs getting stuck in aluminum heads are long gone due to the plating on the plugs now used by all manufacturers. When in doubt, read and follow the manufacturer's directions which do not include putting on antiseize.

    • @notsofast2325

      What is the down side using anti-seize compound?

    • @sf9898u
      @sf9898u 3 роки тому +1

      Don't know. Just know that the engineers who make the plugs say they are plated and don't use it any more and they are a bunch smarter about this than we are. Just like I don't pull and sandblast my spark plugs every 3k like i used to do.

    • @notsofast2325
      @notsofast2325  3 роки тому

      @@sf9898u Sand blast.. lol my dad use to do that. The problem with that, you would have small sand particles still in the plugs. I don't think putting anti-seize compound is going to cause any problems. Don't get me started with engineers especially GM engineers.Thanks for your input.
