Sook-hee is a trained assassin who was born to kill. She was just a little girl when the training started in Yanbian, China. After the death of her mentor, when the chance of starting a new life was given to her, she came to South Korea as a government agent. They promised her that she will be free after ten years of service. So she begins her new life as a theatre actress. But soon two men Joong-sang and Hyun-soo appear in her new life. The Rebel One it started with French movies for me. It's very eye opening when you watch foreign movies. I think everyone should. Especially since Western films are obsessed with the happy ending which isn't the case in real life. I definitely think if more people give them a chance they'll see like you did :)

I'm asian and eventhough I'm watching english movies, I still prefer to watch it with subtitles xD
I watch foreign movies with subtitles, however I prefer watching with an English dub if possible. Subtitles distract me from everything that's happening in scenes.
This masterpiece took me on an emotional rollercoaster. The actors, director, producers, graphics, cinematography and filming are to be applauded, so detailed and everything literally twisted you. 11/10 🙌🏼🙌🏼💆🏽

You know the Marvels Black Widow will be nothing like this, a lot of it will be green screened and stunt doubles.
Also the tone and script itself will be a lot tamer as well...

One of the best action films I have seen in some time. The action scenes themselves and the way they are filmed are just incredible. It is also a film with a lot of tenderness when it needs it. Brilliant from start to finish. Ok-bin Kim kick ass in every way possible.
The awkward moment when Korea makes a better Black Widow Movie than Marvel Studios, Red Sparrow and Atomic Blonde would lol 😂😏

Spectacular movie. My expectations were almost met, with the ending being the exception. The endings could have been sooo much better. I rate it 9/10. Highly recommend.

This movie was "off the chain"! The camera action in this movie was incredible. Great work. And Kim Ok Bin is one beautiful woman. She did a fantastic job.

I BET IT IS. Just finished watching in on my android box. Freaking awesome movie . Incredible ending . It's like Nikita with a lot more twists and turns. Very bloody, of course. The support cast aren't exactly A-listers from South Korea but they were alright .
Let's name drop Atomic Blonde because it's recent, and entirely forget La Femme Nikita, which this is a direct rip of.
Yup. This is definitely a rip-off of La Femme Nikita and Point of No Return. To be fair, La Professional was also a rip-off of Gloria except Besson switched the genders. In Gloria, Gloria was a hitman and protected a boy . This one basically is La Femme Nikita but Nikita fights uncle bob.

That's because Hollywood focuses on films that use real world fighting techniques like Jiu Jitsu, Judo, wrestling etc, not fake ass shit that only works in the movies, yeah, flipping around like a flamboyant puppet might look pretty, but you throw one of those kicks in reality and you're getting dumped on your ass, enjoy your fake fighting movies.

That's why hollywood action flicks are boring, as you stated by using real world fighting like Jujitsu/Wrestling/Grappling, in other words NO CREATIVITY....I'll just watch UFC if I wanna see those. Ehh...I find UFC nowdays boring AF, every fighter has similar skillsets and they end up on the ground humping eachother.
Hollywood movies nowaday lack of interesting story, they only good with special effects.
John wick is good and they were actually inspired by some scenes in this movie
This movie is so well shot and well choreographed, when you think the movie has surprised you enough, the next set piece tops the last. It could be a good or bad thing as I did see the first 40 minutes being too much of a background dumping routine with interspersed over the top action sequences. The movie finally slows down in the middle where we get to see some actual character interaction and moments to savour. Then the double crossing plot twists start happening and even if there isn't much good and clear reasoning behind all the betrayals, it still remains entertaining.
tl;dr Incredible action helps carry the somewhat decent storyline. It has a lot of great ideas that only get glossed over, but the incredible acting makes up for the thin plot. And yeah really really badass and rewatchable action sequences :D
Most of the time actress cannot justify the action role, but this movie is way different than the other movies so the actress. 10/10, way to go Korean Cinema. love from India
One of the greatest most accurate movies of all time
The story is always the same. But with this one, the cinematography is just amazing. The way the camera moves from POV to reaction, it falls with people out windows, joins them on motorcycle fights, dangles with the characters outside moving vehicles.... just amazing!
I once heard about a shot in a superman movie where the camera went from superman flying off the balcony to - the door bell ringing- and Lois walks to the door and it was Clark at the door. It was one continuous shot with no edits. Superman exiting right and Clark entering from the left in one take. I saw the movie I looked for that scene and watched it again and, yeah, neat. Slick. Maybe a director watching that film would have appreciated what 99.99% of us didn't realize was happening. But watching Villainess, Its so stunning you- time and again- exit the story and wonder "What...?!" "How...!?" "That was amazing." It was amazing.
How am I just now seeing this? The cinematography looks just amazing...time to watch!

The fighting scenes were cool af but too fast at the same time, also the storyline got me confused sometimes so if u watch this make sure to really pay attention so u wont miss anything lol, overall a good movie
