Speaking as a European, i think we should give shelter to any & all Afrikaners that want to come here. i would happily swap 3 million white south Africans for 3 million non white immigrants any day of the week and twice on Sunday. realistically we are talking about individuals who despise the whole of Europe & the indigenous Europeans.

Interesting to observe the comments from people on this one. Black people in general dismissing this as the perspective of a white racist when I did not hear this gentleman utter one phrase to suggest that he is in any way racist or trying to reimpose white privilege. On the contrary, he seems to be sincerely trying to understand the issues facing south africa and how these might be solved. Apparently anybody who criticises ANC policy is a racist, particularly if he is white.

Kudos to Frans Cronje who has done fantastic work and is presenting his findings in a very fair minded way.
I will take it you are not South African, because if you were, you would understand the outcry of black people. Firstly in his analysis, he doesn't emphasize the reason for the current plight of black people. It's funny how he only highlights the influence of politics on the economy after the apartheid era. I am of the view that to truly understand the reasons for the high unemployment rate amongst the blacks, you have to revisit the past.
Frans Cronje doesn't even make a mention of this fact. He puts it in a way that insinuates black people are incompetent.

However, how does dwelling on that help us solve the current problems? The reality is that the present anc leadership are corrupt and seem to be more interested in taking care of themselves and holding on to power. Look at the nepotism displayed by Zuma himself. There's nothing racist about telling the truth, and many black people feel the same way, as you saw from the opening part of this clip.

I was under the impression the only natives in SA are the Xhosa and bushmen? If that's true, then the Bantu and the Boer are both non-native and have been in SA for approximately the same amount of time. Only difference is one is white, the other is black.

Right now is an amazing time to be alive. The human experience is as rich and delightful as ever and every day carries the promise of a better world. Not everyone sees it that way, but on the whole, ”Team People” is doing very well. We have come a long way and that’s something worth taking a step back to appreciate.
But the current path is not sustainable. Governments are transferring more wealth than ever from the poor to the rich. We are rapidly approaching a point where we must adapt or perish.
The short view of history tempts pessimism. We might see the recent steps backward as the triumph of evil over good, or at least a turn toward mutual annihilation. They are merely the steps backward in a long progression of one step backward and two steps forward.
A truly free society does not exist just because we have been convinced we are free.

as to define “freedom” in terms of government-granted privilege rather than as a universal moral principle.
However, a free society is inevitable because the global paradigm is shifting

I don't see why most people here make this about race, i agree that the current ANC leadership is messing things up because they took The Economist (MBEKI) out of power and voted for the clueless one. Where we need to start as a country is to change the Economic policies that are choking the potential of where this country could be. If it means voting ANC out of power lets do it SA.

Just want to point out as said in the video these guys have been around as a liberal group from the early 20th centurary. And they did, believe it or not, object to minority rule - just like many liberal white south Africans did too all through apartheid. A good example is Helen Suzman. However they were obviously shut out by a racist and powerful machine that encouraged Afrikaaner hardline nationalism through an outrageously false propaganda effort. This machine you can't forget included more than just the NP. It included the church, societies, business men and many more. And they made it their mission to shut up all liberals. Including the videos organisation, opposition MPs like Helen Suzman and political organisations such as the ANC. I agree its ironic that these videos are allowed today because the reason they are is due to the liberation that the ANC brought to this country. However this does not mean we can forget history and why liberals couldn't have these kind of discussions in the past. Its not because suddenly the ANC is in power and whites are not, it's because our society is more free today that we are able to be critical of our leaders and so we do. This is why no matter white or black - almost all of us will agree that since 1994 we have moved leaps and bounds in a positive direction.

The population growth from 33 million in 1988 to the present 55 million plus is maybe one of the biggest problems facing this country. South Africa has less than ten percent arable land and only .34 percent that can be farmed year round....only .34 percent. South Africa used to produce it's own car (Ranger) which was not a great success. It used to be that sixty percent of all car components had to be produced in SA.....During the 70's there was a great drive to produce in SA and buy SA products but now China controls the economy. The state debt is going through the ceiling and welfare is one of the biggest contributors to this problem.

Most of these trained farmers fail for a variety of reasons and the huge pieces of land end up laying to waste with some basic subsistence farming practices happening on them. The equipment provided to them to start the farm often gets sold off relatively quickly as well for short term financial gains because they are so poor. The education, work ethic and financial backing and control needed to run modern farms requires a lifetime of dedicated growth and practice and the government has not just failed to supply these pathways and structures because of looting of the government coffers but have gone as far as to cut subsidies and support for all farmers (black and white) to pay for their own salaries and exorbitant expenditures. You need to understand how intensely corrupt the ANC is. Because of their leftist and racial ideology they refuse to allow white people to maintain the agricultural output in partnership with skills training thereby plunging the country into economic chaos. Most white south africans would love nothing more than seeing their fellow citizens meet with success because they deeply care about the country and want to live there happy and safe (I think you can pick up from Franz that he is the same) and a large amount of charity and support gets offered from the white community to try and enable this. But their efforts are thwarted at every turn by a government who's policy it is to demonize white people and keep the black voters subservient and greatful for their generosity. Effectively maintaining and promoting their victim status. It's almost unthinkable when you see the ANC officials walking around shaking hands and telling their lies and platitudes about how much they care about the poor. As a South African citizen that has to live with the consequences of it and see the destruction it is sowing on the very people it claims to help it is sickening and stirs up intense anger. But that is the way of the left, they control through caring and steal what you work hard for. It's not all ANC members, but under Zuma's governance he has managed to marginalize or get rid of anyone that stands in the way of the criminalization of government under his watch.

If it were possible why was nothing done or predicted to prevent the past 6-8 years collapse? Analysis is analysis, it will always be a shot in the dark.
