    Another lovely relaxing video of life in the slow lane, just the way it should be. I don't subscribe to the way of life where we are running around as though yesterday was three days too late to do anything. Just keep being yourself, you are beautiful inside and out. The back seat is definitely best when you can sit back and relax while someone else does the work.

    Nice video may, great to see you relaxing and enjoying some special company, it's not anyone's place to judge you on what you decide to eat . The easy way to kill and cook crayfish is to par boil them and then to cut them in half and put on the BBQ which will add flavour and on a side note catching them to eat helps to get rid of them from the rivers and canals as they are considered a pest and harmful to the natural inhabitants as they will kill small fish

    Thanks for your honest opinion on your food.
    We should all be aware of where our food comes and choose the path we are comfortable with.
    So many people have some quite extreme views, which often are based on a very incomplete picture. Animals will always die in our food production. Be it cattle bred for meat or the managment the bird/rabit/deep populations to protect crops. But it should all be done in the most humane way possible.
    Your cray fish are almost certainly going to be the invasive species that we need to control, for the benefit of other species in our waterways. And eating them is the most ethical end for them.

    I grew up on a small livestock farm. I think to a large extent the animals don't get the same freedom of life that we gave them. We had 4 of us looking after 50 cattle, many of the modern setups have 4 people per 1000 cattle.
    We knew our cows individually and they always looked happy to see us. They know they were going to get fed and have their backs scratched. We learnt each cow's boundaries and they learnt ours. With a modern size herd you don't get that.
    I remember the cows excitement when we turned them out into the fields for summer. Seeing cows jumping with excitement and watching them flick their legs in all directions really did make sense of the phrase 'full of the joys of spring'
    Increasingly many farm animals live their lives never seeing the outside. It's quite sad seeing how unhappy some of the modern farm animals are.
    Nature can be far more brutal than anything that anyone has ever been sent to prison for, but at the same time most animals if given a free choice choose to be outside rather than in a barn for the winter.
    We ended up renting our farm out to a horse rescue charity. The horses had shelters and barns that they could use, but it was almost impossible to get them inside and when we did it pretty obvious that they really wanted to be outside.
    I've got this video on my other UA-cam channel of me feeding those horses. I think it was filmed about 12 years ago by my brother and niece.

    Nice to know that there are others out there that do not subscribe to the way animals are basically mass produced and slaughtered now to provide cheap meat... and what isn't sold before 'use by' goes to waste..... so wrong.
    I am 60, not vegan, but became vegetarian several years ago because I have dogs, and will have dogs for as long as I am fit and able to. They need meat in their diet, I don't, so I traded my allowance for theirs.
    If I were to want animal protein again I agree with your ethos of if I can't catch and kill it myself, I won't eat it.

    A second comment; sorry. I live in Louth, Lincolnshire. The River Ludd runs through Louth which is a chalk stream. It has been in a poor condition but is now flourishing. It has a high American Crayfish population. They destroy the banks and eat fish eggs, depleting the biodiversity of the river. Lincolnshire has a very healthy otter population (almost at the optimum population density). Otters love eating crayfish. The consequence of that is a reduced crayfish population, much healthier fish stocks, more brown trout and the joy of seeing otters, kingfishers and the rest of it. You catching them and eating them makes a positive contribution. Enjoy.

    Also that WH’s rapid breathing puts the nervous system in fight flight. This isn’t a bad thing in some people as they can regulate their nervous system back to rest digest however people with GAD, PTSD etc aren’t able to do that so this breathing style can trigger relapses in mental health. I’ve just finished Dopamine Nation, a book which discusses some of these issues in a more sober way. I really don’t want to put a downer on your latest video but people get quite taken by WF, he’s an entertainer but there are some considerations he doesn’t discuss because it would cramp his showman style.

  • @andylane7142
    @andylane7142 11 місяців тому +3

    Hi May, You might want to have a look around at some of the critics of WH especially around breath retention with subsequent cold water immersion causing issues with the heart. A few people have died and his critics are campaigning against him specifically on this practice. Take care. X

    • @andylane7142
      @andylane7142 11 місяців тому +2

      @@wellbeingonwater True but very often those critics have a good point. When people have died, it definitely needs to be at least given attention. WH is in the business of making money from appealing to millions with ancient traditions brought to a modern audience. He’s not medically trained and doesn’t consider that his practices have risks that people should be aware of. I just didn’t want May to be unaware.

    • @TeeMac68
      @TeeMac68 11 місяців тому +1

      @@andylane7142you truly believe that, as the owners of a multimillion dollar business, Hof and his partners did not consider the absolute requirement for medical information and disclaimers in order to protect said business given the claims the method makes to health? That Hof and his advisors just dismissed the fact that he is not medically trained could leave them wide open to litigation? Really? Well, they did, obviously! Among other things, its clear on the website that you should never do the breathing and cold water work together. The breathing decreases carbon dioxide levels which delays the bodies natural inhalation response after breath holding so thats why. The deaths (13) occurred when the practitioners combined cold water and breath work. The most public is a 17 year old girl who's father is suing WH and company despite coroner returning accidental death verdict (2023) What is never mentioned during the rather hyperbolic reportage (the fathers lawyer reports "a proven track record of deaths and drownings in its wake" referring to WH Method) is that some of these unfortunate people did not obtain the methods from the official site, rather from random vlogs and websites of people reporting their own results. It's very easy to rubbish something or someone when all you have is one side of the argument. Perhaps that is why due diligence is so important? Hof's method has saved literally thousands of lives. People are off long term medications in their droves. Peer reviewed studies have been carried out on Hof and his methods. That testimony is also available should you wish to obtain a balanced perspective. Given the fact that medical negligence is the third largest killer after cancer and heart disease (globally) should one not wonder why people are not screaming from the rooftops to have that issue given some attention, no? Our focus is so skewed that our curiosity to dig a little deeper than the surface narrative we're fed has been hijacked. As you yourself said, I didn't want you to be unaware......

    I absolutely agree with you about eating meat in that to eat it it you should be able to kill it. I love all animals so couldn’t kill anything so I choose not to eat meat or fish but I never preach my beliefs or try to stop others eating meat. I have heard about those invasive crayfish killing our native fish species, so good for you if you can do it! This is an absolutely beautiful video you two would make a fabulous couple you just bounce off each other, a fabulous end to summer 2023. Thank you May. X

    Hellow Young Lady, I was watching One of your video, s and see a lot of Wood on your roof.. I live on a Boat too and I have a Chinese diesel heater 5kw and it's perfect cheap and easy. I have a Wood burner too but that's for in need. So it would cost you less and less work to get Wood. Good luck..

    Fantastic feel good production. I just love the good time subject matter. And now it's time for more lighthearted innocuous humor, brought to you by the law offices of Dewey, Cheatem, & Howe: You know aMAYzing May, if you had nudged the canoe (accidentally of course), while George was sliding in the canoe over the gunnel, he would have went for another swim.😂
    Love your show.

    That is a wonderful Video. I must confess that I love meat but it should be wild or grown and nurtured in totally natural conditions. I am lucky in having old breeds nearby grown on wild farms in the wolds of Lincolnshire. Humanely slaughtered ( if there can be such a thing) and thanks for their life and contribution made and their lives respected. The nourishment they give to the land during their lives and to us after is part of nature. You are fantastic work. Thank you.

    I eat meat and dairy and some times wish I didn’t. but the last few years I try and eat it less but I feel bad coz I don’t agree with thousands of animals killed everyday for humans to greedily eat, some people 3 times a day and they have no escape just put on a lorry and slaughtered. I’m gonna try to stop eating meat hopefully soon. Good luck on your travels.
