🔸 Lately, 'french seams' are a kind of trend on most car interiors. Let's name it on the seats, dashboards, consoles, door panels, etc.
That is why I did not want to be an exception on my MBenz office chair project I am still carrying on.
In fact, the MBenz OEM seat as mentioned in previous related video managed short stitches and a distance of 7 mm from line to line of stitches.
I have set up my post bed machine to the distance of 10 mm. I consider it as a standard measure.
This time, I used the old covers as templates, but not directly because they are somehow distorted. Then the idea is to transfer them to cardstock paper. Fortunately, it worked out well. I do not trust 100% percent of this method. I'd rather make my own templates from scratch.

Este asiento de MBenz lo tengo como muestra en el taller. En un próximo video mostraré como se adaptó para silla de oficina. Es eléctrico y funciona con una pila de litio.

What kind of binding should be used on leather for the French stitch?
There are stretch bindings for sale. In case of not getting these strips I would advise to prepare the binding strips by using a thin stretch vinyl. For straight sewings it can be used thin canvas or another thin stiff material.
What do the seams look looks underneath?
I used blind sewings for the leather to the backing canvas fabric. I have no related video yet.
A 'tuck & roll' method to shape the foamed parts.
I used a similar method (not the same) in a straight way for a Jaguar seats.

A thin hand needle with same thread size is pushed through the little hole left from the reverse side upwards to leather side. Then the thread goes around the upper thread and the needle is passed through the same hole downwards. Both thred ends were tightly tied on the reverse to pull a little the upper thread.
