I am a Uber driver and I have been driving a Bolt EV since 2019. In 2019 I bought a used 2017 Chevy bolt, which was bought back by GM last May, 2021 due to the battery issues, I then bought a brand new 2021 Chevy bolt ev for 21,200, which was again bought back by GM a couple of weeks ago and I waited until January 1st to buy my bolt euv because of the federal tax rebate and I had until January 3rd to use my uber and costco discounts, which totalled 2500 dollars, plus 500 dollars off from accessories with my costco executive membership. I purchased the EUV LT with the redline edition package, comfort package, safety package, illuminated charge port and leather heated and ventilated seats and powered driver seat for 29700 after the discounts. As an uber driver, I didn't care for the sound and sun package, or supercruze , as I have a late 2021 Model Y Performance for that. After taxes and fees, my out the door cost was 34,345, which I think is a great deal for this car. I was glad I found a dealership that gave it to me at msrp as dealerships closer to my house wanted to charge 4000 dollars above sticker after January 1st because of the tax incentives. The dealership filled out the application for a home level 2 charger, which will give me a total of 2 level 2 chargers, as we have 2 teslas at home. I also installed solar panels 2 years ago which helps greatly on the electric bill here in Southern California which is at 20 cents per kw. Enjoy your EUV guys, as I believe that its the only values ev in the world today. If I were you, I would che ck your state for ev incentives as there are a lot out there. I used up 9000 dollars in the California clean air program due to my previous 2 bolt purchases. The California state limit is 2 rebate per household. Give it a try.
Great info thank you!
I got my '23 Bolt EUV Dec. 27, '22. That time theres no tax for this particular car in New Jersey plus $4K off from the MSRP, $500 off Costco member, $500 off for 1st reponder. Mine is LT trim with those convenience package installed total of $31,975 plus the B.S
dealer marked-up of $2K. Out the door price was $30K +..... QMerit credit of $1K for 240v installation still in process, also for the EV driver incentive for Uber driver (me) will be given in 30days. Plus the discount from our electric provider (PSEG) when you submit an application for installing a ChargePoint home charger. With all these discounts my Bolt EUV was priced arround $28K but with this B.S. dealer marked-up of $2K it went up to $30K.
I paid 24k otd for my 21 bolt. 13k in gm incentives and 3k Costco discount. No tax on EVs in Jersey.
Excellent video. I just recently found out that the full $7500 tax credit will be available for the Bolt for the first 3 months of this year. The down side is that GM just increased the price EV price to $26,495. My build sheet says $25,595. I'm praying for two things. First, my Bolt gets delivered before March and second, my dealer, who promised that the MSRP is what he'll charge me, will honor the build sheet price. Fingers crossed. 🚙 🇺🇸
Question about the bolt. Is a surge protector recommended once you do the 240 outlet installation in your home? Anyone that might know any info is greatly appreciated.
We had a certified installer install our outlet and I don’t think I saw a surge protector
The manual says not to install a surge protector for what it’s worth
good choice, man. more EVs!
Thanks for the insights! Very helpful. What state are you in? Did they charge sales tax?
I’m in Florida
In canada, I've got a 9000 Dollar Government's incentive for a 2003 Bolt ( federal and provincial combined )
Great price!

2023 Bolt EUV LT - Miami Area - $29,500 - The only complaint I have is the dealership (AN). Walked in with a pre-approved rate from BOA. They refused to accept/use/work with BOA and forced me to take their credit union garbage rate or walk.
Another reason ALL car dealers are complete assholes and should be eliminated from the buying process.
People get all bent about the EV’s. The most I hear about in terms of complaints is that “ we can’t afford to buy an electric vehicle!?!? “. What’s funny is my girl needed a new car , she wanted a hybrid EV I said ok well which one? after a few days she says I want one like my brothers ! I said oh ok well let’s talk to him and see what’s up and if we should buy one.
Long story short he tells his sister to apply for this grant here and see if you get it . Well we hear back and they approved her for a car it had to be hybrid to get x amount and then if its a plug in they would give x amount. plus they give you a quick charger at your house or give you money to have it installed . if that doesn’t work out due to issues like age of the house, they give you a $1000.00 dollars worth of min to use with charging .
So many dealers were not even part of the program that would give them the amount of the grant so she talks like 4 dealerships to apply to become an authorized seller for these grants lol… Finally she finds a Sonata 2017 hybrid plugin limited edition, 19,000 miles on it, 3 yrs old on the lot, they wanted it gone lol. She gets them down a bit and they right at the end tells them “ oh you have to apply for this gov grant program I’m using it to buy this car. they did it and she got the car for $12,000, I mean payments are like $230.00 a month for everything.
The car was bought days before the used car market went bat shit crazy.! Today blue book a 2017 Sonata hybrid plugin limited Edition. last I check it was 22k. she has made almost the total amount she will have paid for it. 😂 we are selling it asap to buy an suv . I was shocked to see that amount lol.!
Look she makes good
Money but her credit isn’t that great. Its not horrible but she just does not have a lot of it. she had to one cc is almost maxed , she was able to get that gov grant no problem. if you need a car and can’t afford $250 a month for insurance and payments… might need to rethink your priorities. JS. And great job on getting your lady that car man. I wish I could do the same for mine because she wants a Tesla now 😳. I said we are only getting the plat or nada! she goes ok why?
“ me: Well the problems are fixed with this one let’s just say that…!”
Oh ok well that’s good to know lol…
🤞
Does you bolt have a heat pump? The 22 didn't
That’s a good question 😂
@@TTorres1183 no, it has a liquid resistance heater.
Nope.
That price tag for EUV is nuts
Compared to what?
@@TTorres1183 used 2021 tesla are about 33k
@@dogslol1928 true but gueling charging speeds especially when temps below 30
And where is the car?
Was there an ev tax credit at all?
I bought in 22… 23 has the tax incentive
Exactly! that could have been a $7500 difference in price.
The base is $31000 not $37000
N now the cheapest Tesla is about 30k w the EV cr
no it's not
@@earthling_parth mostly yes..try to go find a 30 K bolt at the dealerships..just checked.. 32 K
Tesla model 3 is 45k before the 7,500 credit. Bolt is significantly less.
@@stevendeckert6373 u didn't factor in the 5k mark up at the stealerships..n we are comparing a Bolt n M3 a freaking M3... !!!
