Had my first taekwondo lesson last week and was so confused when the teacher was going through these steps. Where tf do my arm goes? What if I take a wrong step? I couldn't catch up!!!! But this vid really fills me in on the important stuff. Thank you for this!
Same thing happened today...
Same guys same ;-;

I am 16. Going to start Taekwondo soon. Is it okay that I am older?
EDIT: damn didn't see this comment getting so much attention
Taekwondo is not about age one of my classmates is 65 and a high green belt. Compare me I'm 14 with a high red
Oh thats really encouraging dude. Thanks, thats so helpful. I suppose just pre-lesson nerv. Thanks :)
You're actually at a very good age to start because you have enough maturity to practice and keep on doing what your doing instead of taking it lightly and giving up.
+Panda Pleeb Yeah man I get you. Thanks. I started and I really enjoyed. Is it worth getting gloves for ITF?
im 27, i been training just for one month and next week is my first belt test , so if i can do it you can do it too! you are at a great age, but more important than age is patience, motivation and discipline, good luck!
I see all the disagreements on what or who is right or wrong about these movements. The learning and dedicated practice of a variety of self defense techniques empower an individual to deal effectively with many threatening situations. The more you have learned and practiced, the more variety you have at your disposal to escape harm or during sport competition. The central goal of martial arts is to avoid violence altogether. This is where courtesy and self control are more important than getting into a fight.
I started taekwondo at 4 years old and reached black belt by 9 years old. I moved at 10 and hadn't practiced in years. I'm 25 and starting over at my local dojang and these videos have helped me so so so much. Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU! Students are understanding better due to these videos and I can't thank you enough.
Me too. Thanks Master for this recup video.
week ??? of quarantine: so today i have decided to learn taekwondo
omg i remember doing teakwood when i was younger, watching this made me remember so much

I'm a first degree black belt! Just got it 5 months ago
yeah, forget being a green belt, just be a green tag.
I'm 36 years old and am taking my first class today. Wanted to see what I was getting myself into
New Full Tutorial of this video just posted. We will continue to post this year!
oh my god this brings so much memories back from my childhood. Growing up in Korea, Taekwondo is the thing that almost all kids learn. I also trained and was athlete for few years. I still think about my Gwanjangnim after 20 years. It really helped strengthen me physically and mentally. I wish my parents kept my Dobok and belt which had my name sewn on. Thank you so much for very detailed video! Now I can teach my kids better.
I'm envious haha. I've only begun to learn, and wish I had been exposed to it from an early age!
I’m only 8 and I’m learning this
@@prashanthhyd1 damnn.. I'm 10 😀
When i was young, i got into taekwondo. But i quit, my late father was disappointed in me tho. So now, even it's basic, i want to learn back, before i go into the real club ^_^
I learned this in 1975, while learning to kickbox. Each move we did in this video, we did with force from the hips. Also, when we approached forward, we swept our feet and legs closer in the center before pushing them outward at the end. But our punches were forceful by our hip thrusts for power punching. This helped us to remember to always use your hips to generate power in all movements.
Took Taekwondo in my junior year of college and learned this form process. The class was definitely no joke, but it felt rewarding.
They do the pattern right, But there is literally no power at all in those movements.. Munch more power and then froze, and continue
Indeed, we used our hips to generate power, and when we punched, our sleeves made a pop noise to let us know we did it right, even as white belts.
Smedly Dumpsterjuice do you take tang Soo do?
im learning this right now in korea.... so there is a major language barrier, it took the teacher like 3 classes to explain he wanted me to say "ap" when he said "gihap" loool
weo1weo1weo1 ha ha ha lol :)
weo1weo1weo1 what he said was correct
weo1weo1weo1 I
We say kiyah lmaoo
this is the only taekwondo form that I have 100% memorized☠️
I just wanted to say thank you for taking the time to post these videos. I took my yellow belt test yesterday, and I am thankful you had this video up to help me work on form from home. I passed. I have not been able to find any good videos on the white belt one step sparing and thought I would share that with you since you are doing such great videos, that might be helpful for others as well. Again, thanks for the helpful video, I passed.
Have a blessed week.
Dale
I m also taking training of taekwondo at home....I hope I'll learn by my own...🙂🙂😍
dedication and hard work with plenty of practice.... sun is warm grass is green
one of them farted hahahahahahahahahahah
How does it feel to do taekwondo?
I rlly wanna try but I'm too heavy and lazy ;-;
Yes!I also wanna do taekwondo at home during quarantine...do you have any suggestions??which UA-cam channel should I follow??
I think the girl should tie her hair while tkd practice....always!!otherwise those hair would disturb her....otherwise she's pretty good....
Hope I'm correct?
My school requires everyone with long hair to have it tied. Her punches and blocks could be quite a bit better. Her arm should be more bent on a low block and her fist shouldn’t be as bent downwards on a punch.
She's a young lass, beauty will always come first for them lol.
We were taught to tie it back, like that was part of the uniform. I coordinated my hairband color with my belt lol
@@lindseykapanak1331 I only disagree with the low block part. I always thought flexing your muscles and keeping your arm bent during a low block doesn't make it any stronger, in fact it would only make it ineffective since the arm/leg of his opponent would remain in the exact same place and he/she would still have a pretty good balance to continue attacking
You said otherwise twice but sounded like said it 10 times
Thank you for making this video, I have a taekwondo test and I always embarrass myself doing this form. But this video helped me memorize it completely. Once again thank you!
I have always wanted to play Taekwondo karate and stuff like that but my parents would always tell me no I cant because I'm a girl and girls dont play these type of games and I cant ever do the things I want to ever do because of my parents which make me very upset because I've heard these words no u cnat do this and that bcuz I'm a girl.....
Do it anyways. Girls can do martial arts just as much as boys can.
Thank you so much. This really helped me out. I needed to practise this until the grading.
Hopefully I can go on to the next belt.
it’s six years later! hope you got to the next belt 😂
Did you get it
Guys some teachers will also speak a lil koren cause twikondo is made by the Koreans so Hana dul set means 123 in koren

Simel Ates i feel you. I did it when I was in middle school and want to go back, im now 27 😂😩 - definitely thinking of doing. Just have to suck up my pride and embarrassment lol
You guys look so badass all moving together!! So disciplined and strong!! I am inspired to work hard like you (o:
I’m supposed to be practicing my form for my black belt testing😂 instead I am here🥲
I'm getting ready to start Taekwondo. That's why I'm here
Go find a real ITF Certified School, not this.
I recently read that a practitioner of Taekwondo is known as a Taekwondoin and that a practitioner of any Korean martial art is called a (fill in name of Korean martial art) + in.
Anyone know if this is correct or not?
Iam in my second week of class🥋I WANT TO THANK YOU FOR GIVING ME A HEADSTART LEARNING THE BASIC FORM! EXPLAINED VERY WELL!
im exited im having a teakwondo test for the yellow brl im 9 i been n teakwodi for maybe 2 or 1 months
I love how you explain all the stuff so simply and yet effectively. I'm just a new Taekwondo student, getting ready for my white belt test, and this video REALLY helped me out. Thanks!
Is that just Teikyoko-shodan from Karate?
Yes, it is, I was surprised too
Okay, learning taekwondo by myself. And yeah, I'm a girl💖
Same bestie same 😩💅
I desperately need this video to practice to figure out the footwork so I can graduate out of white belt
Somehow look like kyokushin karate ancestral forms all the blocks and stances are same .
I studied Taekwondo 40 years ago.Just staryed again at 55.A bit rusty but my body is coping well.Thank you.
Basically just like Tang Soo Do form 1.
Haha yea it's exactly the same as basic form one, both tsd and tkd are of similar origin I think.
Andy Watts that's what I was thinking
Yes this is Kicho Hyung Il Bu, aka Ech Chan Cho Bu (aka a bunch of other names) from Tang Soo Do: ua-cam.com/video/VKWRO6Ap1HY/v-deo.htmlm36s Created by Hwang Kee in the 1940's as the first preparatory form to prepare students for the Pyong Ahn forms. Another example: ua-cam.com/video/d3FXKSfPlss/v-deo.htmlm35s
Andy Watts yeah..you're are right..
I was seriously wondering if anyone was going to say this!
Its similar to gujo-ryu karate sodan
I forgot some of my form. This helped me!
I am 17 and i started mi first taekwondo class today
Hello! I'm from Indonesia 😉
I’m not flexible and I’m 14 I want to do taekwondo for self defense but I think I might kill my body
There's definitely basic self defense moves you can learn without over working your body. We have some basic wrist self defense vids coming up! In terms of flexibility, 14 is still a good age to work on it and if you stretch everyday for 10 min you absolutely will get more flexible. The question is do you have the commitment for it!
To do taekwondo you should already know how to split right or the trainer will help you to do that??
I love taekwondo but I'm way too old for the sport. I'll just settle for Galbi and Bulgogi. No Joonbi for me.
Nobodys to old or young, i got my 1st degree when i was 14. Never to late to start, even if you dont finish
I started a month ago at 30. Although I have muay thai experience, I'm starting from the bottom in TKD.
Jon Echevarria they are extremely different, im in Mixed martial arts as well most will make you start over
im starting taekwondo in a few months :p
I am in so much love with this training
thank you for teaching my daughter😁😁😁
This lacks and explanation of what they are doing and why.
Hello could you please explain what they are doing and why because I am a beginner and it would be great help!
Thank you for making these, I am looking to get back into Taekwondo did it from the time I was in elementary school though high school then it fell off the wayside. But I've recently come to learn its what always use to keep me settles and focused and not feeling like I am an out of control nut. Right now id be a discase of a 1st degree black belt and need to get myself back to where I was before I look at going back into a dojo.
I am at Blue belt and i have forgotten this freaking basic form !😅😅
Im kind of good of takwando but i dint have clasess yet i just learend from youtube but i know know alot of moves
i wan to practice taekwondo but i can't split like them 😭.. training to split is so hard, i need coach to teach me how to practice to split... N force me to do that think😩
This style of karate has the best pajamas
I’m so nervous for my yellow belt test- AHHHHHH
same :(
She's going to break her wrist if she tries to punch someone for real. She's punching low and sweeping up - this will curl your first downwards. She could punch straighter and avoid this potential danger.
I learned this 5 years ago ,i quit this about 3 years ago because of the pandemic, now im gonna join back and i forgot everything about it, im trying to learn everything back from the basics to form 6..
I used to do shotokan karate and it looks similar to what is done
Thank you so much. This really helped me out. I needed to practise this until the grading. Hopefully I can go on to the next belt.
Excuse me, that's fine and dandy by kata 1 ends with a kick to the kata, it doesn't just end with punches and blocks...
You should make sound on jumbi
They sound board ... Ki is the sound of Destruction .. Not boardem Sensei.... This rxact style of tech and form is why I went to Ju Jit after my black in Tae Kwan do Moo Duk Wan.... Way of the fist and foot the American way vs Korean . I hate to say this but even when it comes to self defense TKD is horrible... To be able to defend one must learn to attack and defend against such attacks against the temple...
Well.... for someone at that rank its pretty bad, no power. There should a "snap" after each punch/block also always look in direction before strike/block, this is simulating being attacked so why would you block or strike without looking?
The master said 'left fist on the shoulder' and she's using right fist. I don't know what to believe anymore
In my taekwondo class they told me to do a cross!I'm so confuse now
Either the channel a mcdojo or u was in a mcdojo
I need to know what the primary foot does in Taekwondo to get registered to a Taekwondo forum. Anyone know? [I know absolutely nothing about this. Just wanted to ask someone about what I saw watching the Russian Taekwondo Championships yesterday on UA-cam.]
I suck at this still I’m considering quitting tkwdo for bjj or mma I just can’t remember it I choke about halfway thought I didn’t have this problem before lockdown.
i am 30 and had PID from bike xcident(5 years ago) where dr had to operate my backbone to fix it. is taekwondo suitable for me? is it okay to start learning at my age? will it give back the strength of by back and waist?
I am also a taekwondo player
I'm taking karate but we are doing this but for some reason they want us to being our feet together before each turn or something to do our katas. I had been practicing it this way for a week so now I'm so confused and I feel like any move I make is wrong these days. I finally felt like I could be somewhat good at something and now I'm back to being self-conscious and feeling inadequate
I start to practice at 64, nothing too late for your health.: practice very day. . Sleep well, taste good. Healthy. What else you want now ? I will share this video in my youtube site. THANK YOU !!!!!
It's called *The 10 basic motions.*
nvm. I go to a different school. this one doesn't make sense...
I have the 3rd poom, but I learned the Hapkido Taekwondo. I learned from Master Kim, but the dojo I went to isn't around anymore.
This is very similar to white belt kata in karate lol
i respect the way you run your form but.... chung ji is heaven and earth with 19 movements you guys did 20
can you say something about that i know schools teach how they teach just want as much info as i can get looking to do my very best and know as much as i can. again i am not trying to be rude or a smartbut lol.
I started tkd in kindergarten and went til sixth grade where I got my junior black belt,I’m in eight grade now and want to join but I’m nervous because I don’t remember anything:(
Would love to see these mirrored, so that the demonstrator is facing her back to us as in class. The mirrored ones are super hard to find. Esp. Mirrored with explanations. Would love to see it without lots of talk in the beginning once with explanation, and then once without for each form.
JYMOON TAEKWONDO I appreciate that your young kids are Poom belts and not just "Black" belts like many other schools often do.
I'm actually planning on joining taekwondo lessons on summer, for self-defense and because it seems fun
my name is peace im white belt from the philipines PTA,i already did that but the problem is my forward stance i was looking it in youtube when i see this i already did the proper forward stance thank you very much
So my previous academy did totally diferent forms. Why would an academy teach diferent forms than others?
It depends on the affiliation your school is with. Ours is Kukkiwon which is the largest with over 8 million black belts in over 200 countries
JYMOON TAEKWONDO is your school in the Philippines? I'm joined a summer camp in my school and it was about taekwondo and I just got promoted to a low yellow but the problem is that its only for 3 months and I want to continue my taekwondo lessons and I'm starting to like this school! So if its in the Philippines then maybe I can enroll there! Btw I'm not a filipino I'm a pure chinese sooo yeah,I hope that I can enroll to your school!
I loved training kicks but the practicality of forms was lost on me. I was taught later that it’s acting out a flow of techniques in a specific situation.
Just to say that uniform looks to big for them specially that pants it makes you look like fake patricioner who bought The uniform before the show. However, you did well guy.
Maybe they are fake
học đươc gì qua môn taekwondo, mình thấy chẳng thú vị gì hết
I am happy i know form number 2 is hight blck high punch low block middle punch and shout on 3rd punch when uou shout t means move back leg
You used karate forms to punch or kick but u don't know your hitting somebody.....while demonstrating
Wish i can learn taekwondo but i cant due to my studies
Guys do not keep your back leg straight it's just a bad idea just so u know I am a 2nd degree black belt bend both legs!
This is Dank
I remember how proud I was of myself when I first completed this form….. how the time flies.
I’m working on it myself now Ki Bom Poomse
What is red/black belt with 3 stripes - is it same as black belt and 3rd dan for kids below 16 years of age?
April 6th is my first test
amazing stuff 24 did you pass?
I needed this cause I was absent in my trainings and I forgot the lesson and the tournament was tomorrow I clutch this shit bro thanks 👍
when im grade 3 im learning taekwondo today
What tkd patterns or exercise is this? This is not kukkiwon or Chang Hong. What type of tkd is this?
