    Isn't it lovely to see people doing what they do best; Enjoy themselves.
    Who, or what, would wish to put a stop to that?

    Lovely seeing classic Cars being TOWED through the Mud. 😖
    You showed at least one in the beginning, doing the course under its own power.....

    A little optimistic here: One-wheel drive cars in mud that would sink a Jeep.

      En als iets kapot gaat repareer je t weer, zo gedaan met die oude dingen. Moderne autos moet je daar niet aan denken...

    When I first saw this years ago it was billed as "A Dutch Hill Climb." I liked that description. Half my ancestors are from the Netherlands. {Correction: Some of the cars and drivers are the same, including the thumbnail's great old Red and Brass era motorcar -and its driver -anyone know what kind of car that is? But the event and filming are different. And even more mud. The highlight of the "Hillclimb" one was a one meter rise out of a very muddy and puddly Dutch gravel pit.

    how can they do this with those cars

    • @HELLSnoob1
      @HELLSnoob1 8 років тому

      +SPeed_FANat1c No surname its the skinny tires with chains. thin tires punch thru the mud and find traction under it and with those chains the grip is even better

      +HELLSnoob1 - I meant, with such cars they should do drive very carefully, to save them as long as possible :)

      They were built for these conditions. I'd rather see them in action than as tin cans.

    Those old sports cars was built for this . This not exactly what sports car was meant for . A true sporting car was a car to carry your dogs and a extra hunter into the fields and woods need be .

    Back in these cars days this was a normal road . So why would these people want to put these cars threw it again . Sports Car = A car made for sports . Sports back then was not tennis or kick ball . It meant as a hunting term . Instead of using horses they switched to car . So why did they went from big car to small cars it's really simple . Smaller cars can be steered into a tighter radius , It can get between trees , It is lighter and can be get unstuck if need be . It's simpler to work on . The engines was no more than tractor engines and the trans was geared low because of low compression engines and that the can have better power at lower engine speeds . All of this makes a sport car . Not until the Jeep came along after WW2 that the jeep took over that roll . It was said at one time that the Jeep was the best sports car . This was said by Ferrari. A racing car may not be a sports car . It is a shame to get these relics muddy .

      The point is that you can’t get much parts for these cars, they getting water in the carb, hard to watch.

    • @DrTheRich
      @DrTheRich Рік тому +1

      @@dutcheastindiancompany8415 A few drops of water in a carb for an engine like this isn't going to do much. These old engines don't compress to the tiny volumes modern cars do, so you're not going to waterlock them.
      And a bit of mud isn't going to do much to tough cars like these. It'll was right off.
      You have a mindset for modern delicate cars with their aluminum alloys, spindly parts and over complex systems, and lots of plastic that you can't easily fix.
      These cars were made for the mud as paved roads were barely existent back then. These cars don't need gloves.

      It's not going to do the cars any harm, at least they're being used and appreciated. If a car is damaged, well, it will be repaired. I'm sure a few of these cars have already been restored and rebuilt once already. The nice thing about machines, unlike humans, they are essentially immortal as long as there are humans to rebuild them.
