Hahaa...that's just what I was thinking about.Their engines are better,TOO!! If they have always had their maintenance ans repairs.A friend of mine has a Hillman Minx Sporting Tourer(1935) but that engine and exhaust are leaking everywhere. He always carries an extinguisher with him.
The later cars did better after the earlier ones had cleared the loose debris off the surface. Sometimes conditions are worse for the later cars, here they were better.
I have missed seeing Gromit's revenge at hill climbs. The new owners have changed the engine to make it a trials car. Sadly Gromit was missing from the radiator.
Hi Dan. This Vauxhall has a date of 1925, so too early for a limited slip differential, but the General regulations say:-Class 2 Long wheelbase cars (8’ 6” and over). ALL cars must have an operational differential - sub divided as follows: 2a. Standard cars * # 2b. Modified and Special cars. I'm no expert, so perhaps someone else can be more helpful. Chris
All the cars will have engines appropriate to when they were first made or within a few years of manufacture. So, an Austin 7 will probably have a 750cc engine and a big Vauxhall may be 4 litres +.
Yes, all young female team. I try to include younger drivers in my videos if I can. The car used to hill climb but now has an engine change for trialling.
Hi Steve. VSCC Exmoor Fringe is mostly on private land so is not really open for public spectators (although you could volunteer to marshal). But, there are other trials around the country including those run by the Motorcycling Club.
@@chrismontgomery1223 Hello. Chris. No point really if you care to research the car and its competitive past, would more than likely beat most comers.... Kind regards. John.

Great show Chris, amazing how those old vintage cars get thrashed !
These vintage classics cars
drive uphill even better than some modern crossovers.

WL9117. I owned this car for about 47 years. It never went as well as this!

Just in case you haven't seen Gromit's revenge at Wiscombe
Take a vacation to Devon to watch the various trials held there . This one is for old cars , not hotrods or 4wd monsters
Put sum moon shine in the back N drive like a mad man.
Good show Chris
The Vauxhall 30/98 at 3:00 manages to spin both rear wheels when it losses traction! did they have limited slip diffs then?

@@chrismontgomery1223 Right on thanks for the knowledge
Around 2:18, gromit's revenge... Was that an all female team? I hope so, it's awesome to see women driving these events too!

Need to put some toe brakes on these things to lock the spinning wheel
That might be helpful 😅 - nice burnout by Gromit's Revenge.
Why are some getting the red flag to stop and others dont?
It depends which class the cars are in. Doing a restart makes it more of a challenge and some cars are modified to be more capable.
@@chrismontgomery1223 Thank you. Must see this live sometime.

Should have. Purchased.. A... Dellow* But fortunately I know a man, who has one of the best for.. Sale*
Hi John, Don't think a Dellow would make it in to a VSCC Trial
