Great hack that can save you a lot of money. Especially since you control how much pigment goes in - let's face it, not all "stamping" polishes do their job. Thanks so much for sharing!
Dear UA-camrs thank you for watching my video and commenting. I just want to let you know that not all the pigments should be used on nails. Some pigments are toxic, ex. Cadmium red. So before buying pigments ask the seller if the pigments are safe to use in a nailpolish.
I wouldn't recommend adding Seche Restore to any stamping polish, as it has Toluene, which is a quick dry agent. Regular nail polish thinner, such as Orly, would ideally work better. It doesn't contain Toluene, just Butyl Acetate and Ethyl Acetate, which won't speed up the dry time. Just a tip. Thanks for sharing your ideas!
Mani Paws thanks for the info...But just look why would this company add this quick drying ingredient to a product meant for thinning thick nail polish?!...Hmmm maybe so we will have to keep on adding it as it thickens hence buying more restore bottles:-(
Thank you so much for sharing your research into stamping polishes. I am definitely going to do more research into the pigment powders and if I can get vibrant colors it could save so much money because some of the prices on stamping polishes are ridiculous hopefully the pigmentation powder isn't that expensive☺
I would start with just the titanium white pigment and use other regular polishes to give color. I think the whole bottle of titanium white was in the range of 7-10$ CAD. And thats a retail price. I made a wide range if vibrant colors from regular polishes from dollar store, shown on my home screen. Just test the color to see how it will work out. Neon polishes seem to work the best.
Try TKB trading if you are in the United States. They sell nail polish pigments in every shade in the rainbow. You can get the basic pigments colors in sample sizes. Oh, and they also sell the little scoops to measure things out. Good luck!
Lisa Lawrence I concur the prices are kind of ridiculous I mean but so are O.P.I, china glaze regular polishes not even for stamping and indie polishes too. But I also understand why….going to see how much this costs and the time to put into this is worth the savings. convenience is also nice if its worth having that time you otherwise couldn't get back. But so worth a shot I all about trying new things and hey maybe its not that much time to make a couple woohoo
Lisa Lawrence iam start using chalk as pigment on acrílic and it works awesome and way cheaper than pigmento i ver mine at hobby lobby for 7$, i dont see why not to use on this iam gonna try it
What a brilliant idea!!! I was so disappointed that my images were coming out so thin!! I have some titanium powder that I use for making soap already so I'm going to try adding that. Thanks so much!!
Dear can i use food color as a pigment for making these stamping polishes because i bought some stamping polishes online and they are pretty expensive and not giving the desired effect
It was a long time ago but titanium dioxide is available anywhere. Best place to get it would be at Jackson's art. www.jacksonsart.com/en-us/jackson-s-artist-pigment
J taylor you can add the pigment directly as well but test the color before to see if you will like the result. white pigment can be very strong and wash out your color.
Great video! While watching this I remembered about a fav pink polish iv been looking for , for ages lol , I'm so happy! Great video , I know that means nothing to u , just had to share it, as I'm so happy, been looking for this for about 6 months lol
Is it worth investing in other color pigments? I have yet to find a stamping polish that is a very opaque red, pastel yellow, or pastel pink. The pastel colors of course white pigment is best, but getting a bright rich red may be difficult with white pigment. Thoughts?
It is possible to obtain bright red by mixing it in white if you have a very dark burgundy nail polish. It will depend on shade of cause but it is possible.
I put white pigment into my white nail polishes all the time to increase opacity. I would not recommend putting it into glitter polish though, it will make glitter dull.
@@golddi1 I wanna try the white pigment directly into already existing nail polish colours including metallics but I don’t know if that will work? Not glitters just metallics and cremes
Thank you! It is always nice to hear! Just be careful, eye shadows have some additive that may dry your polish faster than normal. I tried it with some of mine. It should be ok for small butches though that you use right away.
The stamp you used looks like the one I got with my Konad set. I find they do not have much pigment to them. Is that the product you were using? Just a FYI, you can actually stamp with pure pigment rather than going through the trouble of all the mixing. Happy stamping.
It is used as an artist grade pigment for paints such as oil acrylic and watercolor but is also used in other applications like coloring in pills, plastics and so on. Titanium white is simply an oxide of titanium and it is not toxic
I did add black pigment to the black nail polish. It stamps very well on white. I will make another video to show how it works soon and will send you a link.
+Kathleen Mosier I bought one pigment from ebay here is the link www.ebay.ca/itm/30g-Natural-Mineral-Mica-Powder-Pigment-Soap-Nail-Cosmetic-Colorant-DIY-Dye-XT-/122256445515?var=&hash=item0
tatanium dioxide gamlin, is that the same? michaels in florida they sell that in all different colors, even yellow omg is 10$ . in going straight there of it is. let me know
Titanium white pigment is composed of titanium dioxide plus zinc oxide. From what i read totanium dioxide could also be used separatly as a pigment to give a brilliant white even when wet
titanium white is made of titanium dioxide so it should work if it is in its pure form- just powder. If its a cosmetic powder like eyeshadow or foundation it may have additives that will dry your polish.
+Ofnide Dany i tried that and it worked for a day but a week later I noticed that my polish dried out. So yes you can but make small quantities that you can use right away before your polish dries out.

Mimi Pool Seche Restore is specifically for thinning Seche Vite quick-drying top coat, not sold as an all-purpose polish thinner.
Mimi Pool [this was a response to a question that has been deleted.]
LauraLittlePony I didn't look up anything..I happened to get the info right here about seche restore from Mani paws. Thanks for explaining though:-)

Batool, you can use food color but be careful as its ink and it will stain your nail. You may need to use a thick base coat
@@golddi1 dear thanks a lot for your rply😊i'll definitely follow your advice and be careful while working with the stuff

How many scoops of powder with a smaller bottle??
I think i put 7, but it will depend on your base polish, how thick/pigmented it is. Just test it until you like the opacity.

Any white nail polish will work, I had a good luck with Sally Hansen one as well (from dollar store)
