I think a lot, if not most, artists on social media can relate to accidentally getting into the mindset of creating "for others" rather than just creating what you feel like in that moment. It's nice to hear that you caught yourself and are correcting it 🧡 I know I'm not the only one who loves your vids no matter the subject matter/how often you post. As long as it's making you happy, I hope you never stop!
that's a very good point!! I've been thankfully able to evade that feeling with posting my art online, but definitely "monetizing" aspects of my art caused that to finally catch up to me 🤪 and thank you so so much!!! you are so sweet 😭💕💕
Oh man I relate so strongly to being jealous of my past self's art- not because it was any good, but because I felt like it was always free and mostly a joyous and liberating process! Sometimes it feels like making art is a chore even though it's not my job (although I do want it to be my job lol)
FYI -Artist Grade Acrylic Paint varies with the color due to the actual pigments, some are opaque and some transparent which may be why some previous pens were not all opaque. Most of us think paint in general as being opaque unless watercolor, but Acrylic Paint unless craft acrylic paint are not all opaque :)
The spread looks so bright and pretty love it! For me especially the girl at the top with blue hair and cute star eyebrows love the color scheme and she gives me clown vibes and I'm here for it.
I really enjoyed your tangential rambling with some really deep, insightful observations re the human condition sprinkled throughout. Keep up the good work!
The feeling of cringe is a fear of how others perceive you. When you reach a certain age you stop giving a flying rats a$$ what people think and you get that freedom back again. I recommend going to google and searching 1800s circus drawings because some drawings were SO free regardless of art level, and seeing how they made art without social media to record their day's experience is very inspiring!
Such a great video!! Loved hearing your tangents! I totally understand the feeling of being jealous for the artistic freedom of your past self, it's something I've also thought a lot about in recent months. Definitely glad for the anatomy and skills I have now but miss that freedom
that's exactly how I feel!! trying to get back into the mindset of being wild and free with art is something I've been trying to accomplish but its so hard to let go of all of the self critiques and nitpicking 💀
@@tirameowsu Yes!! Totally! Self critique and perfectionism is such a hard challenge. For me even when I'm creating art for myself I tend to hold my work to such a high standard that I don't end up creating the art that I want to, in fear that I won't achieve that standard, which is so dumb!
ugh dude yeah the youtube analytics (especially after a long break/coming back) are super discouraging, glad you're pushing through tho and still posting things despite all the annoying algorithm biz. plus your "everything is harder and more full of hesitation as an adult" rant was so relatable
I have been sort of binge watching your videos when i want to relax from drawing or painting 😊. They are sort of like comfort food to me ❤. Also, I tend to just post and not care about the analytics since it's a very slippery road
i LOVE how this spread turned out 💖 so colourful and vibrant 😍 and forget about what the youtube analytics say, i too can get discouraged when i see that a video is ranked 10/10, but at the end of the day it doesnt really matter, and that making art that i enjoy makes the whole video-making process so much more fun, and thats what art is about!
I think youre doing incredibly well, I tried social media for about a year before giving up because it just drained my creativity trying to constantly make new and better stuff all the time without seeing muvh ptogress in the analytics so you're definitely not alone. Anc if it makes you feel any better, I get super excited whenever you post a new video, no matter how long it's been or what it's about. You give off such a lovely energy that it's always a joy to watch. Also your art is gorgeous! If you can ever ship to the uk i have a basket of washi tape and post it notes ready to go!! I hope you have a wonderful Christmas and I hope 2024 goes really well for you, you so deserve it ❤
it really is difficult to build any kind of following on social media!! especially if the goal is to have account growth, it can very quickly impact the art you start making in order to find something that's "popular". thank you so so much :')
i found your channel trying to find alcohol marker info. boy was i pleasantly surpirsed. your art is beautiful and i love hearing your thoughts. i was also stunned and so happy to see digimon art, wow! time to binge your other videos :)
I am happy too to see a new video ! I am glad that you went back a bit to draw for yourself! That's the most important Also this spread was very nice ! I feel similarly to you about metallic Paint parkers, but I think they are more for calligraphy and craft projects rather than illustration/art .
I know they do go on sale on amazon regularly but I understand if that's still out of your budget!! always manifesting cheaper art supplies for us all 😭💕
I think the color choice is more suitable for portraits or fashion arts? They look good for something bright and brave, not really for landscape or nature painting in my eyes. But still I kinda like the color choice + the quality seems to be good 🤷🏻♀️💖
I agree!! I'm really really hoping they release an earthy tones set with a wider array of browns and a lot of different greens!!! that would truly be my dream set of these pens 😂💖 would love to see any additional colors released in this line too but earth tones would win me over SO fast
Hi! Thank you for the review, you said what I was asking everywhere about comparing them btwn molotow and posca too! One question, your sketchbook how many grams is it? (i don't know if it's said like that, english isn't my first language 😞)
sorry for the late reply! this is a pretty heavyweight paper, I believe its 270 gsm! in my experience with paint pens, as long as the paper doesn't fall apart after a single coat, you're good to layer and layer :)
@@tirameowsu Thank you!! Was it the cold press or smooth paper? Sorry I keep asking questions; I hate returning products that don’t work to my liking 😭
My opinion is you should draw for you and what you like, while watching this video the art you came up with was absolutely amazing and I would absolutely buy a key chain or something of the art you made is my type of wearing style and I love it, like the mushroom on a sweater i would wear it's amazing, i love your art style and think you should do more you Artist to another artist your amazing keep being you 💜🫶✨
I just wanna say that if your vent art ISN'T cringe then what are you even doing???? Enjoy the cringe! Vent art is a tool to...well, vent. My art journey largely started as a way to vent and process things. And tbh I think it's important to do cringy things every so often(within reason, obviously).
@@tirameowsu sometimes you gotta feel the emotions before you can process and move past them, yanno? I feel like vent art does that in a safe way. Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't share the stuff I made back then even if I could xD but it did it's job and I'm better for it
as someone who is definitely bad at that, vent art would easily be in my best interest at this point 😂 it definitely does the job and has its purpose ❤️
“I was cringe, but I was free.” Sick quote, tombstone worthy! Lol! 😂
it explains so much of mine (and I'm sure many other's) childhood experience
