honestly i have no idea what ungodly DI had to be summoned for ZeRo to live that but it looked like the set for sure. AMAZING play from both players, what an intense grand finals!
Well, it was a surprise to me. The up smash was sweetspotted, and Lucario was with aura and rage... I don't know about the DI, Diddy flew straight up to the top Just a reminder that Diddy was at _%58_ ...
My favorite part was in the interview afterwards, Bam asked tsu what his game plan was going into GF, and tsu simply said he wasn't thinking about that, he was just there to have fun. He seemed very happy the whole time, after beating kameme it looked like such a sincere hug too, glad he had fun in the midst of all the hype.
TNTPro - Penspinning It says "Japan's Best" because Tsu hasn't really played much in the US. With this strong run we'll definitely be seeing more of him here though.
Cat Lover Diddy is a Normal and Flying type cuz of his Jetpack. Aura Sphere turns into a fighting and rock type attack and then becomes 4x effective. #LOGIC
Duncan Ryan yeah he won the stacked weekly before frostbite and got top 4 at tokiagi beat kameme, mr R, 9b and kirihara. He also notably got top 8 at umembura sat beating ranai
Duncan Ryan i think that's debatable. He was playing great for sure, and he deserved the GFs but i think it had a lot to do with his unknown factor, lucario isn't a popular match up, he has a unique japan play style, and he got a lot of kills because of nerves (the opponent messing up or doing something unsafe / weird because lucario had full aura and they were at 60). Some sets, like vs kameme were great! He played amazing against s player who knew tsu! Others, like voids set or tweeks, didn't seem necessarily skill based sets, but kinda clutch plays. Its different to Up air up air up air to up b as ZSS to clutch it out, but to just back air someone because they didnt kill you seems a bit cheeky sometimes.
Alex Garcia this is why I left this comment. sure he had an unknown factor but zero himself said he was keeping up with him in the neutral which isn't easy lucario vs Diddy. also zero had 13 games to adjust and he was still nervous at the end. sure lucario can be "cheeky" but the character is not carrying tsu by any means
Jonathan Parnes top 30? He's had a run way better than any other player in the top 30 range and better than a lot of the top 20. I'd say he's like top 20. 2nd at a major beating zero void kameme salem and tweek. He has had wins on the best Japanese players excluding Komo and a win on Mr. R when he went to Japan
This grands final was the most hype match ive EVER seen in smash 4 even the crowd was explosive and the commentators were 5 stars funny. and rewatching it rn i can STILL feel so hyped yet anxious about that tense match.
Yeah with players like Day doing good in America and Tsu doing good in Japan as well as Serge in Mexico Lucario is not a mid tier and has never actually been considered one (not counting the 2016 tier list where only 3 characters were Top Tier that was kind of dumb).
This was an incredibly exciting set. Tsu and his Lucario play make everything so on-edge and intense. I've mained Lucario since I started playing Smash. It's nice to see someone show me that Lucario can compete at high level play, and even excel. (:
Yeah yeah Tsu made it to second place with a Lucario. But i find just as amazing how Zero kept his head cool against wind and tide. I mean even the commentators were bias towards Tsu. And the crowd was cheering every little movement of Tsu.
yuzmanito That's because the crowd likes to cheer underdogs. When you think about the fact that it's Diddy Kong (who is a top tier character) and the fact that it's Zero (many people know is one of the best players in the game), then already tend to know what's coming and what the outcome would be. But, when you have Lucario (tiers lower than Diddy Kong and BARELY played) working it's way up the ranks pass other top characters and players, being played by a player that not really looked at, then it becomes more exciting because it's full of unexpectation and filled with variables you didn't know of or expect. You tend to cheer the underdog for working their way up to the best, unless you are a hardcore fan of the best. I wouldn't say anyone was really being biased. You just have the little guy using a "bad character" beating top players with good characters, and showing you things you never seen before. It's exciting, and in most cases, you cheer for the little guy because you didn't know or expect that they would even go that far to begin with.
No one really realized that Zero was literally on the blast zone, he was just at the right percent to stay alive, extremely lucky for Zero good read from Tsu tho
No it's not. It's his first time playing OUT OF JAPAN. He does very well in Japan itself. ZeRo did say that he was the best Lucario in his own video too, just to further prove my point, and that was almost a year ago. He's a very good and consistent player with wins (before frostbite and Tokaigi) on kirihara, Mr. R, Abadango, KEN, Kameme, Ranai, etc.
He said motsunabe was the best which at the time of the video was correct, he later went on hiatus but tsu has results in Japan. 7th at umebura sat beating ranai, it was after tokaigi and beating mr.R and kirihara where he really came on the radar. Now after his frostbite run I think it's not arguable that he is potentially a top 20-15 player
ii AyJay o Actually, there are not that many Diddies at the top. There's ZeRo, and usually top 8 is like fox, mario, cloud and shiek and the occasional mewtwo. Fox and mario are limited to like Ally and Larry, and everyone else is cloud or shiek. Diddy's top 8 results in stacked tournaments are usually just ZeRo.
I didn't say there were a lot of Diddy players at the top. I said that Diddy is dull to watch, and that I'm glad to see a new character in Grand Finals.
but faggot literally just means gay, whats derogatory about it? saying faggot doesn't make u a homophobe, just says you use colorful language. m i endorsing the use of the word? no, but sayingit doesnt make u satan spawn in the lgbt community. shit the word is even potected in your freedom of speech.
Pfft. U never answer my question. It could be down in the dictionary as derogatory but u gave me no substance. I was hoping to get schooled about this, cuz like I said there is no good reason for it to be classified as derogatory. Or worse than the word gay, because gay is used derogatory aswell. But ok, ur gonna be that guy, I won't judge u for that, I might have come off aggresive but I was sincerely curious why. Cuz I have yet to here a good reason why it's considered worse.
So many times pokemon characters have been the heroes of tournaments: Esam's Pikachu at Smash Con 2015, iStudying's Greninja at BEAST 6, and now Tsu's Lucario
Even if that song is awesome for this video, I must say it is a 5th gen song and a 4th gen song should have fitted more, like Cynthia's one or league battle.
No matter who won everyone has to agree this is one of the best Smash 4 sets ever the players were amazing the emcee was amazing the commentators were amazing and the crowd was hype AF.
Tsu may have not managed to win, but he managed to make ZeRo look the most stressed he has ever been in any tournament of smash 4 he has ever played. Now _that's_ something to feel real good about c:
Wish I could go to one of these one day!!!! ❤️ that was a blast to watch. Learned more about lucarios skills than I knew before so imma back ace my smash bro battles now hahaha
The matches were hype as fuck, but I just want to give a shout out to the commentators. Definitely added an extra layer of fun to watching, those guys are hilarious LOL
clearly the reason why tsu lost is because his anime wouldve been over if he did. he needs to go through a whole training arc and another tournament arc until he can finally win
Will Lucario rise a few places on the next iteration of the tier list because of this showing? I'm pretty sure he'll be in the middle of high tier if Tsu keeps putting on a performance as well as this or if Day shows up at the next major.
I always wondered why this character dropped off the map so quickly after launch. It's clear a large portion of Tsu's success is his own skill, but Lucario is still fucking nuts.
eh props to Tsu for being finally bringing the man lucario to the stage but I think this is a one time thing. As a Lucario main, I could see the way people for falling for the most idiotic reads and not respecting rage. Tsu has strong fundamentals but by the next major, people should have the Lucario matchup set, just like Ranai and Kameme. Also, for the pros and to anyone wanting to fight lucario, don't play people without easy kill confirms aka bayo shiek diddy because Tsu clearly takes advantage of this till the player tilts and throws the match.
[ Mike4Life ] I think it is we have never faced a Lucario like this just like megaman and lucario but aura and rage kinda helps him more since it's kinda jank
+Pureeey he is kinda weird, he's slow, heavy, floaty, strong, weird recovery amd his combos are not that good, and kinda predictable if you want to add that, you don't care if you get hit for most of your stock but at the end you have to play very very safe, so yeah
Playing lucario is a very tough matchup since you can outplay one but the aura makes him so dangerous mixed with rage and you have to get rid of his stock immediately
Congratulations to the fat chilean for winning the tournament, but Tsu really deserves the spotlight for his amazing run! Also a honorable mention for Komota and his Kirby :)
Tsu may not have won the tournament. But he has clearly won our hearts.
definitly.
EODM07 And he won against ZeRo in his first ever encounter. That's something Ranai can't say.
Tsu is the people`s Champ!!
spoiler piece of shit xD
Im just waiting for some foreign intervention in this upcoming civil war.
seeing great plays with a character that is not played a lot is sooo refreshing
*Tsu reads the roll and up-smashes*
...
*Cries inmeadiately afterwards*
honestly i have no idea what ungodly DI had to be summoned for ZeRo to live that but it looked like the set for sure. AMAZING play from both players, what an intense grand finals!
No sparks + amazing DI = not surprising he lived
Well, it was a surprise to me. The up smash was sweetspotted, and Lucario was with aura and rage... I don't know about the DI, Diddy flew straight up to the top
Just a reminder that Diddy was at _%58_ ...
SDrew if he had done a a turn around Aura charge - up smash kill confirm, it would've killed.
I'm still a bit salty that didn't kill tbh XD
My favorite part was in the interview afterwards, Bam asked tsu what his game plan was going into GF, and tsu simply said he wasn't thinking about that, he was just there to have fun. He seemed very happy the whole time, after beating kameme it looked like such a sincere hug too, glad he had fun in the midst of all the hype.
title should be " the best lucario "
Daniel Vasquez You mean, "The Universe's best Lucario!"
Daniel Vasquez Ayy I see you getting that top comment
Zero NEEDS to do his analysis on Lucario now!
iTEK/RiidDisBuk analysis? More like opinions.
... ok
*World's Best Lucario
TNTPro - Penspinning It says "Japan's Best" because Tsu hasn't really played much in the US. With this strong run we'll definitely be seeing more of him here though.
Mitchel K it says Japan's best because plasma smash is Mexican and he still probably thinks Serge is the best lucario. Even though Tsu is far better.
Kai diss tracks ehh I think the two best lucarios are tsu and richi
Lucario is top tier confirmed jk
*Worlds best good boy
TSUPER EFFECTIVE
OmoBoey underrated comment
diddy kong must be a normal type because that aura sphere was super effective. (and he definitely isnt steel, ice, rock, or dark.)
Cat Lover Diddy is a Normal and Flying type cuz of his Jetpack. Aura Sphere turns into a fighting and rock type attack and then becomes 4x effective. #LOGIC
OPPOSING BOREDOM FAINTED
TSU GAINED 500 HYPE
WHAT TSU IS EVOLVING!
DOO DOO DOO DOO DO DOOO
TSU EVOLVED INTO A GOD
This was not a fluke. Tsu deserved to be in that GF, he was playing like a top 10 player in the world EASY
Duncan Ryan Tsu is def top 30 in the world.
This aura ball trickery is incredible.
This is going down in history.
IF YOU WANNA BE A LUCARIO NUMBER ONE
The Internet Pacifist "aura ball"
You have to chase a Diddy Kong on the run
12:53 Tsu was so, so close to winning... What a set, possibly the best Smash 4 set I've ever seen!
This reminds me of amsa. Some Japanese playing a random mid tier beats a ton of top players.
MistaTwoJeffreyTwenty Yaay lucario is not mid tier lol. He top 15 at best. And with tsu playing like this he's probably top 10
Roboy Bofoi Yeah...no he's high mid tier
Definitely not under high tier, maybe even absolute bottom of top tier.
Yeah with players like Day doing good in America and Tsu doing good in Japan as well as Serge in Mexico Lucario is not a mid tier and has never actually been considered one (not counting the 2016 tier list where only 3 characters were Top Tier that was kind of dumb).
Frosty Johnny nah bruh he's mid tier cause of his risky play style
This was an incredibly exciting set. Tsu and his Lucario play make everything so on-edge and intense.
I've mained Lucario since I started playing Smash. It's nice to see someone show me that Lucario can compete at high level play, and even excel. (:
Waiting for ForGlory to be infested with lucarios now
RedQwerty Day beating ZeRo didn't do it, nothing will
The difference is that Day v ZeRo wasn't streamed, and it wasn't anywhere near Grand Finals.
RedQwerty I've been a Lucario main since he was rumored to be in brawl
same dude. 70% wr in fg
Inb4 "I played Lucario before it was cool"
Yeah yeah Tsu made it to second place with a Lucario. But i find just as amazing how Zero kept his head cool against wind and tide. I mean even the commentators were bias towards Tsu. And the crowd was cheering every little movement of Tsu.
yuzmanito yeah but Zero kept timing out tho and before set 2 began we had to wait pretty long before he came back. He had enough time to cool down
yuzmanito Exactly man!! Zero once again proving why he's the best, hands down probably the best sets of Smash 4 history so far.
Baby Eater same with Armada who always keeps his cool and manages to turn around the set
yuzmanito That's because the crowd likes to cheer underdogs. When you think about the fact that it's Diddy Kong (who is a top tier character) and the fact that it's Zero (many people know is one of the best players in the game), then already tend to know what's coming and what the outcome would be. It's exciting, and in most cases, you cheer for the little guy because you didn't know or expect that they would even go that far to begin with.
...Yes i know.
But thank you for that.
The best Grand Finals to ever happen to Smash 4.
No one really realized that Zero was literally on the blast zone, he was just at the right percent to stay alive, extremely lucky for Zero good read from Tsu tho
So a lot of people have been wan-dur-ring how Lucario does in the metagame...
Somebody pls fly Tsu-san out to Civil War
Phalon Alexander It's only top 50 and this is TSU first time playing
No it's not. It's his first time playing OUT OF JAPAN. He does very well in Japan itself. ZeRo did say that he was the best Lucario in his own video too, just to further prove my point, and that was almost a year ago. He's a very good and consistent player with wins (before frostbite and Tokaigi) on kirihara, Mr. R, Abadango, KEN, Kameme, Ranai, etc.

Now after his frostbite run I think it's not arguable that he is potentially a top 20-15 player
Plus if LOCUS is playing, than Tsu can definitely play.
Motsunabe isn't the same as tsu, though they have similar names and are both japanese lucarios
As a lucario secondary main, I feel pleased.
Tsu- was just a monster. Won a lot of people over, including me. Japan is not to be slept on.
Ronnie Nguyen Who tf sleeps on anyone from Japan
I have never seen anyone sleep on Japanese players
I'm awake on everyone from japan
*Whenever I see ZeRo play against another top player*
LOSE! ZERO LOSE!
*Whenever ZeRo pulls out his Falcon*
PLEASE WIN!
"TSU!"
.
.
Bless you.
I think I was the only one cheering for ZeRo, I popped off so hard when he won. This was probably the most hype GF I've seen besides MLG 2015
I was right there with you
He always wins, and Diddy is so dull to watch. I'm glad to see a new character in Grand Finals.
Dan You aren't alone ;)
ii AyJay o Actually, there are not that many Diddies at the top. There's ZeRo, and usually top 8 is like fox, mario, cloud and shiek and the occasional mewtwo. As a lucario main I'm really impressed that he manages to read people that good with the aura spheres and forward smashes, go! Tsu
Tsu is so fucking cute
Billy Bob Homophobe
but faggot literally just means gay, whats derogatory about it? saying faggot doesn't make u a homophobe, just says you use colorful language. m i endorsing the use of the word? no, but sayingit doesnt make u satan spawn in the lgbt community. shit the word is even potected in your freedom of speech.
lmao ye plump
Watson Young Preach! Heck yeah

Lucario analysis confirmed.
I'm waiting for Shuton's run @Frostbite now. Tsu wasnt the only one to have shown the power of an almost undiscovered character!
WistitiPNF404 who does shuton use
Akio01 Olimar. Best Olimar in the world now too, although Angbad and Myran are both amazing solo Olimars too.
That Grand Finals has to be set of 2017, or at least a contender for it
Now let's wait for Zero's Lucario video.
So many times pokemon characters have been the heroes of tournaments: Esam's Pikachu at Smash Con 2015, iStudying's Greninja at BEAST 6, and now Tsu's Lucario
suddenly... lucario mains...
I am SO glad I actually watched this whole tournement live
what makes this grand finals even better is i can see my homies in the crowd
that was nerve racking even for me. that was a lot of pressure on zero. i can't even imagine how nervous he was.
great video, i like the inclusion of the Pokemon B&W music too
Even if that song is awesome for this video, I must say it is a 5th gen song and a 4th gen song should have fitted more, like Cynthia's one or league battle.
Defákinbos it's gen 5
Haydn Choi Lucario is a Pokémon from 4th generation
But that theme just seems to go so well with Lucario.... idk why it just does.
Yeh I know that but this song is from gen 5
That's exactly what he said...
Woah holy shit! Tweek, Void, Kameme, Salem, even beating Zero once and getting so close the second time?? Tsu is a legend😮
I love using up b on onstage if you hit the opponent you can hold back and they get launched that way
13:23
Tsu is just adorable with that smile and wave
10:57
omg thats new for me, great animation final
Tsu got robbed w that up smash
i call hax
bruh did you see how many times zero almost killed him with an upsmash, lmao don't try it.
Nova Bushido ikr what's this mam saying
ZeRo didn't even DI that. It was just too early lmfao.
Miracle--7 zero was literally on the blast zone tho lmao a few more percent and he was gone
Zero was at like 50 percent, I would've been mad myself if he died
No matter who won everyone has to agree this is one of the best Smash 4 sets ever the players were amazing the emcee was amazing the commentators were amazing and the crowd was hype AF.
Tsu may have not managed to win, but he managed to make ZeRo look the most stressed he has ever been in any tournament of smash 4 he has ever played. Now _that's_ something to feel real good about c:
This video should be called worlds best lucario takes on every other worlds best
As a Lucario main I'm pleased
Salem's face when Tsu lived at 201 was priceless
Tsu made me an instant fan, can't wait to see him play again!
Tsu is smash 4's Amsa and he has a great future.
The lack of dair to edge guard vertical recoveries is the main lucario tool he is lacking, but man this guy is goooooooood. Love to see
Wish I could go to one of these one day!!!! ❤️ that was a blast to watch. Learned more about lucarios skills than I knew before so imma back ace my smash bro battles now hahaha
The matches were hype as fuck, but I just want to give a shout out to the commentators. Definitely added an extra layer of fun to watching, those guys are hilarious LOL
tsu survivability and defense is nuts. he's rarely ever in a bad position
This man's DI and general survival skills are, bar none, the best I have ever seen in this game.
That moment when you know the outcome, but didn't realize you were watching the FIRST set of tsu vs zero, and start tripping balls at the outcome
Damn that was hype. One of the best Smash 4 sets in history: Tsu vs ZeRo in GF.
those sets actually made my heart race, i cant imagine the pressure of zero actually playing
clearly the reason why tsu lost is because his anime wouldve been over if he did. he needs to go through a whole training arc and another tournament arc until he can finally win
I STILL GET GOOSEBUMPS. BEST SMASH 4 SET EVER
I called it. 2016 was the year of the rise of the underdogs of Melee. 2017 is the year of the rise of the underdogs for Smash 4.
Void seemed so surprised to lose 2:03 but so happy because Tsu did well.
Seeing this after maining Lucario since the beginning warms my heart
10:52 holy smokes D1 is a legend
ゼロをここまで追い詰めるのは本当にエグい
Finally a distinction between the never ending cloud mains.
The kamehame-hype is real! also quadroople dabs at 11:40
that ending reminds me of the last scene in jurassic park where everybody is happy, that the nightmare is over and they survived
13:26 Lol, the memes coming out of this moment right here
Now this is the bond between the trainer and the pokemon xD
Will Lucario rise a few places on the next iteration of the tier list because of this showing? I'm pretty sure he'll be in the middle of high tier if Tsu keeps putting on a performance as well as this or if Day shows up at the next major.
This character will be considered borderline top-tier. And he's almost certainly being flown out to Civil War after this.
That F smash at 3 minutes was beautiful
I've seen this 3 times and it still gets my hyped as fuck
Title should be "earths best Lucario"
Somehow fitting for a Goku like character. I like it.
I have never respected a Lucario so much, nor have I believed in a player so hard before. YOU BETTER BE AROUND, TSU
I always wondered why this character dropped off the map so quickly after launch. It's clear a large portion of Tsu's success is his own skill, but Lucario is still fucking nuts.
God Monkey Abu Lucario is not nuts at all. This is like the only time we've seen a Lucario get this far lol
>Not nuts
>Can kill you at 40%
God Monkey Abu At Pax Prime 2015 a Lucario called Shiny took a game off ZeRo.
When you finally someone really good that plays your main
Oh Tsu win again Abandongo and Shuton in the other tournament in gooshi gaming
i dont think ive ever seen zero this happy i dont think he was even happy he was in shock because he couldent believe he won
Tsu has become one of japan’s most hidden demons
Don't want to talk bad about the other competitors, but this man made this tournament something great.
Tbh, I really wanted to see Nairo vs Tsu, but this was really great tho.
One of Smash 4 history greatest moments
amazing grand final. I wish it never end.
Someone needs to make a compilation of the players faces when Tsu kills them. It's so funny. Nobody was ready for the Lucario kills at 40%.
I remember watching this in class those matches were hype as fuck
In the chat all I read was "another free tournament for zero". I knew Tsu was gonna keep him on the edge of his seat. Real lucario mains are no joke.
Lucario is my main and I'm happy to see him doing so good.
eh props to Tsu for being finally bringing the man lucario to the stage but I think this is a one time thing.
I doubt it's a one time thing. Tsu is definitely top 20.
I think it could be a 1 time thing, but tsu's adaptation is fucking something else. I feel he's still gonna be placing well if not placing top 8.
[ Mike4Life ] I think it is we have never faced a Lucario like this just like megaman and lucario but aura and rage kinda helps him more since it's kinda jank
absolutely no love for zero? he played amazing.
Gotta love how cheerful Tsu is.
Its' funny. Aura on paper sounds OP as heckles, but hardly anyone plays Lucario.
Apparently a lot of people find Lucario "weird" to play. That's what I've heard, at least.
+Pureeey he is kinda weird, he's slow, heavy, floaty, strong, weird recovery amd his combos are not that good, and kinda predictable if you want to add that, you don't care if you get hit for most of your stock but at the end you have to play very very safe, so yeah
His neutral feels like a mess. But when you land a hit its worse that Ganon like rah.
Back when competitive smash4 was still fun to watch.
いちいち抱きに来るけんが可愛い笑笑
2:18 I'm not gay, but Tsu's just too cute right here.
Tsu is just fucking adorable in general.
Can you make the same with Shuton and maybe Some
Holy crap that was tense!
Why are Japanese players so adorable
Silent Venue because they’re Asian :]
Playing lucario is a very tough matchup since you can outplay one but the aura makes him so dangerous mixed with rage and you have to get rid of his stock immediately
you know tsu is the shit. when he brings out Zeros Captain falcon In major grand finals. MAD respect to both Zero And Tsu. Great games.
Congratulations to the fat chilean for winning the tournament, but Tsu really deserves the spotlight for his amazing run!
Also a honorable mention for Komota and his Kirby :)
