Agreed. That is easily my favorite pop off in smash 4 because of the emotion behind it, the fact that it's Esam ending the war, the stare at the crowd after, and of course the amazing camera man making it look just like it's an actual movie. Literally replayed it for 3 minutes straight after it happened live.
"Melee is lame. It's always Armada vs some other god in grands and then Armada wins free" "Smash 4 is lame. Anyone can win because of rage/easy kill setups" Is there anything in the world that some of you people actually enjoy?
I mean Melee is pretty much dominated by Armada now.. but this tourney was ALL over the place with huge upsets and new characters/people taking the top spots that doesn't happen in Melee
That's what I'm saying. Upsets are always hype, and it's not like they're so common in Smash 4 that literally anyone can pull one out. Zero's placing this weekend was absolutely unprecedented, and no one who follows Smash 4 would have ever seen it coming. FWIW I like watching and playing both games. I appreciate Melee for its high skill ceiling and fluid movement, but I also appreciate Smash 4 for its larger variety of characters and the fact that I don't have to murder my hands to feel like I'm kind of competent at it. It really bugs me to see people being so negative and salty about either game.
of course melee is more consistent. people forget that the game is old and the meta is barely evolving anymore. Smash 4 is young compared to it and the meta has a lot of room for improvement.
Canned Water I don't get why people get nervous. When I'm playing at my high school wrestling match, or when I'm at a smash tourney, Melee or sm4sh, I just don't care about what is going around me. There is no reason to be nervous is what one of my teammates said and ever since then, I just don't care about what's going on around. And, when I'm in the moment, I feel like it is just me and the other guy
NinjaX SSB Since Smash Con, Fatality has only gotten way better. You can see in his play that he isn't as flashy anymore, and makes better decisions. It is possible to do it again, he did at the most stacked sm4sh major ever
HaloDestiny077 A hidden boss is a good player that not many people know about. So in a tournament filled with top players or bosses so to speak, a top player that not many people know would be a hidden boss
Can we talk about Locus's wins so far? He's beaten, Saj, 9B, Tweek, Mr R, Ally, Samsora, Shuton AND Nairo. I know a lot of people have been doubting that he deserved his spot in the PGR last season, but he's really proven himself. And I think he was also in top 32 at one of the other sagas other than ZeRo saga and Civil war, not sure who he beat there.
its true, im the same. I dont understand the whole hugging thing after a match, i get the handshake... But the hugging, yes i get you, as the winner, are very hyped but i just lost so i feel terrible and youre forcing me to hug you so i dont look bad
juanoshigeru most of the time when two players hug is because the player that lost has respect for the other person and is happy they moved on, like Nairo and fatality
I just love Esam looks at the crowd, and the cameraman just makes it look epic as hell like he's the damn Lion King then Esam casually walks back to shake Ally's hand
+Luis M Because it's funny dude lmao. Relax. Zinoto started the meme as an extension of his Twitter beef with ANTi. It's all just a bit of harmless fun.
Best Link was contested between him and Scizor, with T taking sets regularly off of top Japanese players, like Aba, Ramai, Some, Pichi, Umeki, etc. But scizor plays just as good. After civil war, though, T is undoubtably the best Link, atm.
+JuSaKuO Unfortunately, players like T are highly skilled, but since they don't travel much, they don't get recognized very often. Its honestly probably one of the reasons he didn't make it into the top 50 PGR rankings, even though he probably had, and still has the skill to easily be a top 50 player. He just didn't travel enough, but now a lot of people know who he is.
I love that the two Shulks were first in the video. He can go far, he just has so many more techs to master (and some buffs wouldn't hurt, dammit Sakurai. Stop nerfing high tiers and start buffing lower tier characters).
As a Link Main since Melee and part Japanese, T is like my Hometown hero. This is easily one of the greatest times Link has ever gotten this much visibility in ANY of the Smash games to date! I'm so proud of him!
I love how at 8:43 fatality pops off when he lands the falling up air, before landing the knee. Like, he knew he was going to get it and had won the set.
LoMpE but if top players consistently not make top 8 (or even top 32) would it be an upset? Like when Zero lost to Nairo at MLG 2015, the best part about it was because he was undeniably the best in the world. Now he's losing to tons of players.
Holy shit, persona music! Also, ESAM's popoff was captured by the best camera shot of the entire event. Fatality seems to have really leveled up lately, and holy Christ suddenly amazing players have started popping out of other regions with incredible play.
+PhilTousi the nature of an upset is that top players lose to lower tiered/ unexpected players. Zero lost to Luhtie, who honestly was not even on the pgr. Would you laugh at Zero? No, because that's an upset and it happens to a lot of players. Dabuz is consistent and that is fact. Edit: Also Fatality was unstoppable in this tournament, taking out Nairo and Kirihira(another Rosalina player who is really good). I think Dabuz deserves some credit for being able to knock out fatality.
Grant the Dragon that may be true, however ZeRo lost to xzax, an actually good fox main. I'm pretty sure fox/diddy is 50/50 so his loss is actaully undestandable. Luhtie is another story, however. Maybe we can put that on the nerves. On the other hand, dabuz had like, 1 or 2 mu that were close. MVD and Zack. Both could have pulled off an upset, and Zack almost did, but they didn't. So gg to dabuz for that. I am not saying dabuz is not consistent, I'm not saying he's bad. But I do think he could have had a harder bracket. Dabuz is and will always be a god of smash 4, I am not denying that.
The most hype aspect of this Tournament was not just that so many Low/Mid-tier mains made it into Top 32 and even Top 8, but that they absolutely MURKED so many high ranking PGR players! I was so stoked watching this Tournament! I do have to say, even though I respect how hard Dabuz worked toward winning, I'm sad Fatality lost to him, considering he beat so many top threats, including Nairo, Kirihara, so many in bracket, and even T, who defeated him in Winners, went on to 3-0 him in Losers Finals!! I really hope Fatality keeps up this amazing hard work, I would love to see him win a large event like this!
I know I’m late but luhtie is so respectful here 6:00 he doesn’t pop off, just looks shocked. My man literally pushed his bois away so he could give zer0 the hand shake
Im confused, if T defeated Fatality and in the video it said T is advancing to Finals, why was it that Fatality was the one that fought against Dabuzz, and not T?
The way the camera swings behind ESAM when Coney says "and ENDED the Civil War" is truly epic. One of, if not THE, greatest Smash 4 tournament ever.
TheTintedHalo props to the cameraman, lit as fuck
TheTintedHalo yeah, loved that moment :p
Message from 2021:
It never got any better
Whoever wrote that script for this was on some strong stuff
ESAM ENDED THE CIVIL WAR WITH THE BEST POPOFF OF THE EVENT, PLUS THE GOD-TIER CAMERAMAN ASSIST ON THAT SHOT. I COULD WATCH THAT SHIT EVERY DAY
Nate Murray i agree, easily the best pop-off of the compilation. dramatic as all hell
Vey well shot, cinematography+spinning camera with esam in the middle of the frame
Agreed. That is easily my favorite pop off in smash 4 because of the emotion behind it, the fact that it's Esam ending the war, the stare at the crowd after, and of course the amazing camera man making it look just like it's an actual movie.
Literally replayed it for 3 minutes straight after it happened live.
Him facing the crowd with his tag facing the camera was movie quality.
Top 10 Epic Moments in Anime
ZeRo: I'M MAINING LINK?!
Zero actually lost to a R.o.b
Thy Sphynx no he didn't you moron
Thy Sphynx ZeRo lost to xazx then was eliminated by luthie a zzs main who's #1 in AZ
#4 actually
Zero lost to a jigglypuff
I'm pretty sure every Smash player in Georgia popped off seeing Fatality get second. Feels good to be one of them.
teh OVERL0RD wait, Georgia, like, the country? :O
+Ωμέγα Άλφα Georgia the state. [One of the 50 US states] [edit: Misspelled word]
Eragon7 lmao George the state
Eragon7 o
Everyone in the Georgia Discord joined a voice chat and screamed for 3 hours
"Melee is lame. It's always Armada vs some other god in grands and then Armada wins free"
"Smash 4 is lame. Anyone can win because of rage/easy kill setups"
Is there anything in the world that some of you people actually enjoy?

It really bugs me to see people being so negative and salty about either game.
TitNinja "but the game is more complex and a better one at that" is the opposing argument. Stop arguing man. Every game has its ups and down.
of course melee is more consistent. people forget that the game is old and the meta is barely evolving anymore. Smash 4 is young compared to it and the meta has a lot of room for improvement.
I think that's because Sm4sh is still developing competitively
Theories on why Ally and ZeRo were eliminated so early:
1. overconfidence
2. too much pressure on reaching the finals
Canned Water ZeRo had huge nerves and Ally just played like garbage on the third day. Which he admitted.
Most of the people at Civil War were nervous most likely because of the amount of incredibly talented players.
You forgot the most important:
3. THE CURSE
Stocke curse my ass lmao they probably underestimated a bunch of players and they paid the price
Those hidden bosses man. They can really hurt top players.
yep
NinjaX SSB to be fair fatality played out of his fucking mind. i doubt he will ever play that godly again
NinjaX SSB Since Smash Con, Fatality has only gotten way better. You can see in his play that he isn't as flashy anymore, and makes better decisions. It is possible to do it again, he did at the most stacked sm4sh major ever
can anyone explain what a hidden boss exactly is?
HaloDestiny077 A hidden boss is a good player that not many people know about. So in a tournament filled with top players or bosses so to speak, a top player that not many people know would be a hidden boss
8:03 "Get outta here Pikachu, Samus is my new main now!"
lmao
Mixa well technically not a new main since he's always mained samus since 64
Mixa Yes please
Mixa "Esam" stands for "Erik Samus", fun fact
I thought it was Eternal Samus, you may be right though.
ErroneousNickname i still hate his play style
11:40 Congrats to T! First he's on Drake and Josh, and now he's making Top 8 in Smash 4 majors!
What?
I wonder if Esam and Axe have Pikachu onesies...
ESAM does
I K N E W I T
The biggest upset was Dabuz winning and not Fatality or T
Mr Bop lol why?
Mr Bop yeah I wanted T or Fatality to win
Daubs already established himself as a top player so it shouldn't surprise anyone
*dabuz
+Rhy7hM Its a joke m8
9:55 haha Mr R. is like "dont touch me"
juanoshigeru he's disgusted by that good dk play man. I wouldn't touch someone if they were just done beating me
its true, im the same.
Im happy to see Napoleon Dynamite aka fatality do so weel.
OMFG HE LOOKS JUST LIKE HIM HOLY SHIT
Can I have some of your tots?
Every upset at Civil War,
You mean... just Civil War?
I just love Esam looks at the crowd, and the cameraman just makes it look epic as hell like he's the damn Lion King then Esam casually walks back to shake Ally's hand
I remember being in chat when Anti lost to Shulk. So many people typing Anti Sucks. It hurt my pride and I wasnt even playing
Anti Sucks is a meme
Obsiidian a dumbass meme at that, the smash community has the humor of snobby 13 yr old cod players. Idk why y'all condone it.
Because it bothers people like you
Zinoto was the one who started the meme lol, it was part of the trash talk of the crew battle
+Luis M Because it's funny dude lmao. Relax. Zinoto started the meme as an extension of his Twitter beef with ANTi. It's all just a bit of harmless fun.
Fatality needed to win ughhhhhhhh
Yeah that was a heart breaker, but seeing Dabuz win the most stacked tournament ever is pretty cool too.
Who is T? Ive never heard of him until this tourney. He's pretty damn good.
Best Link in the world from Japan but doesn't travel much
Yeah seriously. That dude balls
He just didn't travel enough, but now a lot of people know who he is.
EEL Dust I'm not sure if T has beaten Some.
Anyone else think Esams pop off was cinematic?
WindMage It was fantastic lol
WindMage It's the best popoff I've ever seen.
to think that more than half of these players are not even relevant on Ultimate is crazy
More than half are relevant wym
8:11 ICONIC
I love that the two Shulks were first in the video. He can go far, he just has so many more techs to master (and some buffs wouldn't hurt, dammit Sakurai. Stop nerfing high tiers and start buffing lower tier characters).
Dude... it's been over a year any change to the game was made.
DDRaven The Bayo nerf was in May
Anthony Sorrell I love how the finishing blows in both are Air Slash too omg
That wasn't an upset at all XD Shulk power
NO MORE PATCHES BOYZ
the only civil war these guys will be facing now is a prison riot.
The commentary the moment when Luhtie beat Zero is amazing. Goes to show how passionate people are for Smash. Wow
plasma uploads.......leaves class to watch video.........
Toronte123 oh ok
Toronte123 same!
Toronte123 I just watch in class
FPT mr. cartoon lucky
Charmfire lol
Now we have to deal with all the try hard bad for Glory Link players... oh well
Lol that is exactly what I was thinking. Dammit T
Herz Pik Already have to deal with all the try hard for glory links.
Herz Pik well im sure you all try hard on for glory lmao
As a link main, I was so happy to see that link win. He almost botched it but he kept on having that courage.
Tournaments like this are we why I will always think smash4 was better than ult the vibes were just different
As a Link Main since Melee and part Japanese, T is like my Hometown hero. This is easily one of the greatest times Link has ever gotten this much visibility in ANY of the Smash games to date! I'm so proud of him!
mew2king at 10:06 he in the crowd
Skit løl m2k
Skit ma boi cobi was there too
Skit laugh out loud mew2king
Can you make a "Fatality's Run at 2GG Civil War"?
Super crazy day holy civil war was a blood bath
I love how at 8:43 fatality pops off when he lands the falling up air, before landing the knee. Like, he knew he was going to get it and had won the set.
Well done plasma :)
10:06 YO THATS MY BOY COBI!
As a Link main that last clip was pure Kreygasm for me. Well done, T
Smash 4 is a constant hypefest! Fucking upsets almost every major tournament. Hope it stays like this for a long time!
LoMpE but if top players consistently not make top 8 (or even top 32) would it be an upset? Like when Zero lost to Nairo at MLG 2015, the best part about it was because he was undeniably the best in the world. Now he's losing to tons of players.
Hikaru is honestly the most adorable Smash player I've ever seen! Such a cheerful puffball 😂
Lol I'm calling that dude Anime Donkey Kong for the rest of my life lol
8:54 that is the thinnest hug I have ever seen
Dabuz and Fatality give the most awkward pop offs lmao
Holy shit, persona music!
Also, ESAM's popoff was captured by the best camera shot of the entire event. Fatality seems to have really leveled up lately, and holy Christ suddenly amazing players have started popping out of other regions with incredible play.
8:12 my man Esam looking straight up Iron Man right there
Esam's pop-off needs a nerf, and the camera shot...S-tier👌
5:47 best moment of this whole fucking tournament. shit was incredible
Love how at 10:37 Zero is just like "Nairo my boy what did they do to you"
Damn Esam went SSJ in that pop off.
Like original Goku SSJ against Frieza, that shit was epic.
You forgot Samsora over ANTi for the off-stream upsets.
Regardless, good video! Thanks for putting this together for us.
I love how luhtie mouths "I beat zero" right before the crowd rushes him.
10:17 Is that Cobanermani456 in the Nike cap. Also Luma makes me want to cry and T is a Legend. I'm happy for Dabuz though.
"you see that hug the level of respect these players have for each other"
fatality actually hugging scatt while nairo walks off behind them
Civil War was an absolutely crazy major man, seeing a Link in Winners Finals of a super major is just amazing to me, all the upsets were crazy too!
10:41 if you look closely at Nairo's hand, he was shook.
You should do a compilation of Coney saying "Oh no, oh no, oh no!"
That camera work on the Esam popoff was too legit. Give that person a raise
congratulations to dabuz for being so consistent. No upset for him at this tournament.
Grant the Dragon dabuz would have been a laughing stock if he'd lost with the bracket he had

Dabuz is and will always be a god of smash 4, I am not denying that.
2:48 His happiness is infectious.
amazing video! but there's still :
Xzax 2-1 TSM | ZeRo
Meteor 2-0 ECHO FOX MVG | MKLeo
I think they weren't on stream, but huge upsets hahahha
locus is such a homie.... he even went over to ally and went for a second fist bump.
Samsora beat Anti in losers and ended up getting 17th, but I don't know if any of his matches were streamed :(
11:14 is that prince holding a camera
this tournament has force fed many of the so called gods of smash a nice big slice of humble pie
8:07
ESAM lookin' pretty cool there
literally got goosebumps when i heard Signs of Love, i put it in my crew modpack yesterday lmao
that outdoor setup is actually really sick
The most hype aspect of this Tournament was not just that so many Low/Mid-tier mains made it into Top 32 and even Top 8, but that they absolutely MURKED so many high ranking PGR players! I was so stoked watching this Tournament! I really hope Fatality keeps up this amazing hard work, I would love to see him win a large event like this!
what is the first clip?
"The crowd is going wild"
with a quiet ass crowd LOL
hearing the reason you were team Ally made so much sense. he pretty much saved your life

8:04 Esam has literally dropped pikachu

Esam is low key PHAT
Esam looked so chill playing, but then the emotion showed when he won
0:18 I guess this is what they meant by "Go play outside."
how to upset top-players:
1. pick shulk
2. air slash OOS
3. take the free easy $$$
This tournament was so hype
I know I’m late but luhtie is so respectful here 6:00 he doesn’t pop off, just looks shocked. My man literally pushed his bois away so he could give zer0 the hand shake
Im confused, if T defeated Fatality and in the video it said T is advancing to Finals, why was it that Fatality was the one that fought against Dabuzz, and not T?
Lmao I love how fatality does down throw>fuck up RAR>bair to get stocks and it keeps working lol.
I'm glad Link is getting some love
"I'm outplacing ZeRo" *shot of Pierce angrily staring at the camera*
amazing cut of the whole thing, now i know what everyone is talking about
This is such a pleasure to watch after what happened this year
Someone needs to make a "Did I really just beat them?" montage.
that camera angle tho 8:08
yo who tf was the leader of each side i cant remember for the life of me
Dabuz and Fatality idk how a video was made of upsets because the two tops seed played to their seed
Can we all agree that the cameraman filming ESAM won this tourney
watching this in person was something else
Those Marth mains that became Lucario mains are now gonna be Link mains.
10:10 my BOI fow at the bottom
5:28
YOU'RE WELCOME!
It's not everyday you get to see a smash tournament be played outdoors.
bro this fatality guy is in need of some heavy calories
Appreciate the outro music 👌
this tournament was like watching game of thrones
8:12 Esam's new youtube banner
