If something isn't being used and nobody is willing to buy it, it deserves a new life. You did that table justice. Absolutely remarkable re-use of that gorgeous wood.
Thank you. I did feel guilty breaking it up but I hope the new cabinet will have a long life and you're right about about it deserving that new existence.
Great job. It's always good to see real wood from old, unloved or damaged furniture being used and given a new life for many years to come. I'll look forward to your next project.
Beautiful job. I'm sure the original maker of the table would approve. Always worth rescuing solid period furniture that is beyond its original purpose.
Absolutely, the quality of the quarter-sawn oak was exceptional and the previous owners had taken really good care of it. I prefer to make good use of every scrap if can and make small objects with the 'leftovers'. Thank you for letting me know your thoughts about it.

recycling and pleasure. Good job. Congratulations. all the best.
Amazing build Ben. The finished article looks such a high quality piece. That book of notes was something too, an amazing amount of planning has gone into that and clearly it’s paired off.
Thanks. I have to admit I was pleased with it but it did take a lot of planning to make sure I had enough wood from the donor tables. Thank you for letting me know.
I agree beautiful job. I never liked cutting up good furniture just for the timber but I have. If you’re going to reach over a running table saw to put drawer fronts in the case please turn off the camera.
BEN, THAT CHEST CAME OUT GREAT. I LOVE HOW YOU USED THE OLD TABLE, AND THE COLOR IS AWESOME .IM ON A QUEST TO GIVE ALL MY FELLOW WOOD WORKERS ON UA-cam A SUB .AND IM GLAD TO GIVE YOU ONE.FROM DOUG AKA#88 LOL
Hi Doug. I'm so glad you did as it meant I got to see your absolutely amazing workshop. It's great that you liked what I did with the table though it was sad to break up a beautifully made piece. That quarter sawn oak was just fantastic and the finish turned out incredibly smooth and clearly figured. All the best. Ben.
Ben. Been my friend I'm so glad you replied thank you buddy.. and it's well-deserved my friend you did an awesome job on that. I've taken a few old pieces and rework them myself in my days and I really enjoy it a lot. And thank you for reaching out buddy I appreciate it very much. From Doug
Thank you, I would recommend making one but it took a lot of time and effort. I got the donor wood before it rocketed in price so I don't think I'll be making another one for a while. Cheers.
Ben what a fantastic build and what makes it even better its made from recycled wood, you should be really pleased with this build. Like you said thats one of the bucket list
Thank you, both for watching and for the encouragement before. It turned out better than I had hoped for and I managed to keep the voice-over going. Cheers.
Thank you. I really enjoyed building it but the pressure of doing the original timber justice made me do a lot of planning first. I also made a TV cabinet with it but that's a future video.

Thank you, I couldn't agree more. I got lucky with this quarter sawn oak but I try to use old wood whenever I can. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
