    Musti1 has a tip where he blows through the fuel inlet while moving the float to make sure that the needle valve is working before putting the float bowl back on. So was a gunny carb.

    That was a big big help. I let my Powermax 2500 sit for about 9 months but did let it run out of gas before I stored it. Tries to start if I prime the carb. Too hot in Texas to fool with it right now but I am saving your video

    I would second his recommendation to take good care of your carburetor by draining the gasoline each season. I learned this lesson the hard way: mine was corroded internally right up to the rubber supply hose from the tank. Tried to rehabilitate the carburetor but to no avail. I finally had to replace it with a new one (for around 40 bucks). Changing the oil in the crank case regularly would be the next important maintenance step you can take to preserve the life of your machine. Thanks again for sharing this helpful video.

Won’t turn on anymore so what I did was check the carburetor was full of the gas so I clean it and then I turn off the gas and then I try it and second time turn on and they used for couple second and then turn of because the gas was off but I turn the the gas on
    So my machine is working fine thanks 🙏🏾

    Thanks for the vid, I have a Predator 2500 pressure washer and was going to use it however it would not start. I cleaned the carb and checked the spark plug which had spark. I was able to start the engine but now it idles low like its about to shunt down but it just runs low idle and Im hearing some sort of noise like a screech either underneath or maybe buy the carb. When I press the trigger the nozzle will send water out but not high pressure and the noise goes away. I have been looking all over the net for similar issue but I have not been able to find anything. Any clue to the issue would be great. TY

On Tuesday nights at 8pm cst I have a live stream and you are welcome to come by and we can help answer this further. Unfortunately we wont be streaming this Tuesday as I am traveling for business The unit I fixed had had the pump fail and was the reason for whistling. It was not the motor.

    • @edtheoldtechguy
      @edtheoldtechguy  3 місяці тому +1

      Fuel Spark Air make sure it can have air in and put clean the exhaust and clean air filter. Fuel is not so easy, you can have a bad carb and if not cleaned correctly it may not start. Make sure to take it all apart and clean the jets.

  • @PennyKimball-tg9my
    @PennyKimball-tg9my 2 місяці тому +1

    Took mine apart today and now it won't start. I must have put it back together wrong.
    Part 2: took it apart again and made sure the needle was hanging. Still won't start. How do I prime it or use that ether stuff? Any help you could provide I'd appreciate it. Thank you.

    • @edtheoldtechguy
      @edtheoldtechguy  2 місяці тому +2

      DO you have spark? Is the muffler or Spark Arrestor clean? Is the air filter clean or does it leak gas or oil? Make sure the spark plug is clean and you have spark. Remove spark plug and spray starting fluid in the whole and place the spark plug back on see if it starts. Use carborator cleaner and make sure the jets are cleaned out well. Purchase cheap ultrasonic cleaner at harbor freight and place the carb in there with some simple green. Consider purchasing new carb.

    • @PennyKimball-tg9my
      @PennyKimball-tg9my 2 місяці тому +1

      @@edtheoldtechguy I got it started! I had already cleaned the carb with cleaner. Glad you showed how to hang the needle. But I still couldn't start it. I had already changed the spark plug and oil.
      I tested for spark but couldn't see it. I think I heard it. Sprayed the ether in. And finally it started. It still surges which is why I took the carburetor apart in the first place.
      Thank you for your help. I'm so happy it started.

If you cannot afford a new carburetor clean it in anti grease solution in a sonic cleaner and replace any air filter and sparkplug, I would need more info to trouble shoot further.
