I was there. This video is exactly how I remember it. Chaos, dark, dangerous, dirty, exciting, crazy. RIP Keith.
moonstonematrix yeah me too :) it was totally beautiful, dark, exciting, magical atmosphere.... takes me right back seeing this, proper captured the atmosphere.
rip dear Keith xx
moonstonematrix,, That Must Of Been Buzzin!!! RIP Keith x
Eddy Sandland it was. It was a memorable Glastonbury for many reasons but this was definitely the highlight.
moonstonematrix, Nice One
Likewise Good dayz :)
Was there as stage crew. He wouldn't go on until we filled the ball with so much air. Stage manager was screaming at him to go and Keith kept wanting more air in the ball. He bounced of the P.A. and charged on stage. We built a wall of sub bass in front of stage right across. No other band used it and when it kicked in during the set we watched the first few rows of the crowd physically move back. Best gig of my live ever fucking mental!
i thought i imagined that hamsterball r.i.p keith.
Wow...Must have been so cool to experience that. Seeing them live and to sorta be part of it.
Wicked story mate 👍🏻 Proper band.
I remember that well mate. The bass was so powerful it made me feel sick. Easily one of the best gigs I've ever been to. My hearing wasn't right for days. Great days.😀
Thanks for sharing that, we miss Keith. Must have been a blast!
I remember at the time, this performance caused a shockwave in mainstream music.
The Prodigy blew everyone away who weren't dance music fans and didn't know about them. They'd been honing their theatrical dramatic shows for years on the rave scene, but that was all underground. Up until this point, the only dance music on a big stage at Glastonbury had been Orbital, who were fantastic, but just two guys behind keyboards.
The Prodigy were more rock n roll than any rock band! For them, performing in front of tens of thousands wasn't anything new, they just came on and completely obliterated it!
Keith was a natural born performer, as well as being a top person. RIP xxxxx
That's one thing I never really liked about electro performers, not enough movement. I assume they were booked through XL at the time?
Yeah that Orbital set is extraordinary as well. Glad you mentioned them
I was there and it was absolute carnage. I remember the mosh pit kicking up huge clouds of dust and as I looked on it resembled a medieval battle - arms, limbs, heads, drinks just going everywhere. As we walked away through the fields into the night and lights of Glastonbury, I recall thinking ’what have I just witnessed…?’ Incredible stuff
If I remember talking to a couple of people who went to see Oasis on The Pyramid at same time and they said they could hear this set over the top of them. One of the best gigs of my life.
Rave in Peace Keith... Words cannot describe how much you meant to my life and my musical growth. 155 and rising forever
Fucking saw this show at Glastonbury, back when Glastonbury and other festivals kicked ass, it was fucking amazing.
There was 400 thousand ppl at Glastonbury 95. It was epic. Never again will that kind of event be replicated. Hot weather and the best five days of everyone's lives.
80,000 confirmed ticket sales and an estimated 20,000 entering after the perimeter barrier was breached, definitely not 400,000 but it was a big gig.
This is legendary!!!!!
break and enter still sounds amazing all these years later
For all the great Glastonbury moments we've had since, I still think Glastonbury '95 has been the best festival to date. And this set is key to why. "Wait for it, Liam!"
1995....... life was good.
I was there. One of, if not THE best most energetic gigs I have ever had the pleasure of being at.
Here I am almost 30 years later, watching this on yt and enjoying it more than when I was actually there! Funny how things turn out…
Same was 22 then, now I'm nearly 50.
Best times:)
Thanks for uploading this. Couldn’t go because I was heavily pregnant with my 1st born. Ahead of their time, mind blowing and true legends.
RIP beautiful Keith, thank you x
I can only imagine what it would have felt like to see and feel keith in concert. I am so sad I didn't get a chance. Love you Keith!
The Prodigy were amazing live. Not possible to explain, and nothing could prepare you for it.
The bass was so powerful it felt like your insides was coming out.
What a performance. Britain really does produce some talent.
I'm also loving other various UK electronica based acts like
Faithless, Burial, Chemical Brothers, Underworld, Unkle, Autectre, Massive Attack,
Orbital, Leftfield, Stereo Mcs, The Streets, Goldie, The Bug, Allflaws
I was there at my first and only Glastonbury Festival 24 years ago. What a performance from the guys! RIP Keith
This was my first or one of my first Glastonbury's, some of the people I went there with and partied with in the incredible 90s raves are partying up there with Keith in the craziest rave party ever.
The two greatest were 95 and 2000, so you did well.
RIP Keith x The Prodigy Are The Best Dance/Techno/Break Beat Band EVER!!! Fact x From Jersey x
While I agree that they are the best, that is none the less an opinion, not a fact.
justinium77, OK
justinium77 no, it’s a fucing fact mate. 👍🏻
WOW ! Never knew that Funky Shit was produced by Liam so early ! 1995 and allready on stage. Nice.
your comment was from 3 years ago. but I wanna reply on your comment and say that firestarter also was produced in 1995. they played it live I think in Prague. I think you can find it on UA-cam too. have a nice day.
@@dzojaxxson9889 thanks for the tip
Awesome video. I remember it well. My first festival and first time at Glastonbury. I was 18 and stood direct front stage left.
My friend jonny sharp said lets go away for a weekend. I walked out of my crappy job at a plastics factory in Barnstaple North Devon and we headed to pilton.
We parked in the car park just off the junction to shepton mallet.
We saw a security guard and he said give me £20 and you're in.
We got a uv rubber stamp on our hands and we were in. A very hot and dry festival that year. A moment in my lifetime i treasure
i was right at the front for this, first time i went to glastonbury and i missed oasis to see this. Im glad oasis looked a bit dull when i watch the footage of them at the festival. The prodigy could blow any crowd away.
Моя самая любимая группа . Кит ты был частью каждого из нас покойся с миром .🙏
Sending Rave to another dimension! History on the making.
Thank you, Keith Flint. #RaveInPeace now brother. You'll be dearly missed 💔
Always preferred I take your brain to another dimension lol because Liam does just that, every track x
Goodbye to another one of our musical giants!! Rave in Peace Keith!!
❤❤❤ I was there loved every minuit ❤
total magic gig - was there up front on the right rockin hard - just before the gig was at The Pyramid stage watching Oasis - after watching one song by them both me and me mate thought they were crap so we left Oasis quickly to see The Prodigy - best decision i'd ever made - Rave In Peace keith - total legend never to be forgotten!
Done exactly the same ! Watched 1st Oasis song then left to watch prodigy off my nut on mushrooms , what a night
I did exactly the thing too, 2 oasis tracks and we came and watched these guys rock the place. One of the begs gigs I've ever seen to this date! They were awesome. Remember Keith climbing the stack of speakers and dancing on them?
I did the opposite.... gutted.
@@Wagstafari. bummer....
Ignored Oasis, straight to Prodigy for one of the best gigs of my life.
I had awesome night of my life here even thou I was security and only 20 but it was so much better than the gigs today fir sure
You helped keep control.
Thank Christ I found this video, for 25 years I’ve been wondering did Keith actually come on in a ball or did I ‘imagine’ it!!!
The memories!!!!!
Feeling the bass coming through the earth into your soul.
same!
It was like feeling your whole being vibrate with pure joy - best performance of any live act I have ever witnessed!
I was there, in front of the sound desk half way back, best gig I have ever been to. Mind well and truly blown
I've been waiting to see this ever since I saw them on the NME stage! You've just made my year! I'll never forget this show getting reviewed in Kerrang and the uproar it caused. Jim Davies on guitar made their sound so heavy. I was gutted when he stopped playing live with them. He added extra parts and atmosphere that guitarists since haven't managed to recapture I don't think. Thanks for putting this up and RIP Keith Flint.
Gabba at the end.
Incredible live jam.
Was never released but it’s been reconstructed perfectly by fans since.
What. A. Performance.
This was my 1st gig as a 16 year-old , saw them a couple of years ago at Ally Pally , RIP Keith
I was at the Ally Pall one. It was monstrous at the front and how lucky were we to see them before he passed.
This is so intense, what a great performance!
I don’t even need to watch it before I hit on the like
No other band /pa has stood the test of time ,legends ❤
Ditto x
This is still one of the best gigs I've ever seen in my life, absolutely on fire. And probably still the loudest one I ever heard, you could feel every beat, everyone was dancing so hard it was like being in the middle of a massive brawl I was knackered at the end of it. Thanks for uploading
Wow, another great Video! I love Rhythm Of Life!
I would have to loved to have seen the prodigy in this era. Great upload, Thanks!
In their prime absolute banging set
Amazing, nice one for posting. Never seen video of this whole gig before just the bits that were on Channel 4. Prodigy were absolutely on fire during this period, saw this at my first Glastonbury and it blew my mind! Era defining tunes played over an insanely loud system with a buzzing crowd: been every year since and haven't seen a show like it, mental times :)
This was my first Glastonbury too. This set is the only one I really remember!
I was there too ,i battled to get to touch the barrier ,then Keith staged dived and kicked me in the head!maddest best gig i ever been to0, atmosphere was electric absolutely mental ..
Best gig I've ever been to
We Eat Rhythm is such an immense tune
Brilliant. Dance in Peace Keith ✌
Cheers for uploading... I saw them at Brixton Academy in 1995. The best gig I've ever been to. In my opinion, this was when they were at their peak, just before the release of Fat of the Land. Then they became too focused on the 'rock band' image, and never really progressed, after being so innovative in the early days... I'm still a lifelong fan though...!! 🙄
TheAylesburyCyclist you should have been at Brixton Dec 17 ...would have Rocked your World my friend
I'm afraid you're talking absolute shite there pal, they went stratospheric for a reason.
Their music was so far ahead of their time
@@TheDGAF06 Yes they went mainstream, they didn't get better. 95 was the peak
"Never really progressed" bro did u listen to AONO album?
Amazing. Thanks for posting this. Never seen it before. What a set
Running across the site having just jumped the 2 fences....this was the best night ever!!
I remember coming around the corner and just seeing a mass of people bouncing up and down with all the strobe lighting. Incredible.
Great upload.. sound is good. Thanks. Always wanted to see this full show.
cant believe 95 sound was that good
Great stuff. Went to see the Prodigy that year. Didn't have much time for them but wanted to see the young Chemical Brothers supporting. However, when Prodigy came on I was converted. What a live gig, energy at the venue something else too.
Rest in happy madness, Keith. Glad I was there to see this fantastic set.
So sad to lose this icon
r.i.p I am VERY sad.
@@DStarter Sad his gone, happy saw him perform many times before he went.
u know nametrack in minute 13 that reggae
@@jangyzur7921 LIVE downtempo fill called Ska Beats
He ain’t dead, He Lives forever.
Thank You David Starter !
the intro is: sabres of paradise - Chapel Street Market 9am amazing :)
Didn't heard Prodigy for maybe 30 years ago and recently the algorithm brought me another live concert and it still made sense and you can feel and hear all this so intense gift to the audience of pushing for everyone to the most one can and we all you deserve it. Some moment of meditation it'd be great, and for you all of the people that loves life, well live long and well, sometimes stretching limits in our different areas... always turning things translatable in a human form or code, good good it must have been to have been there jumping all around, living with intensity and intention and many times these kind of magical connections.... after all this time I still find it more truth and carnal than most moments you usually live so enjoy all you can...
Oh David S we the Jilted Generation thank you 🕺💃🎛🎧🎛💃🕺
what a cool Dancer...! R.I.P Keith Flint...👌❤️
First time I saw them was at Beetle Bash July '95.
We were right at the front on the railings but after 30mins we had to get security to get us out as we had 2000 people squashing us. Still listened from the sides. Epic!
I was surprised to learn that "Funky Shit" was as early as 95.
Oh boy ........ Muchas Gracias DS!! On it at the moment ;) Have a great 2018 bruv!
GL0WKiD Thank you and best whises for christmas and the new year 2018
Thanx bruv!!
RIP Keith Flint
R.I.P Keith
THIS WAS ABSOLUTELY MAGNIFICENT OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCE ABSOLUTELY SENSATIONAL TOTALLY EPIC
TOTALLY MEMORABLE SADLY FOR THE LOSS OF ABSOLUTELY OUTSTANDING PERFORMER
BEING THERE WAS ABSOLUTELY SOMETHING ELSE I HAVE RUN OUT OF WORDS INSIGHTFUL OF THAT NIGHT
I'M JUST MORE THAN GRATEFUL THAT I WAS THERE IF ONLY FOR THE SAKE OF THE PRODIGY IT'LL ALWAYS BE IRREPLACEABLE
MY MEMORIES ARE LIKE IT WAS ONLY YESTERDAY
NO GLASTONBURY FESTIVAL WILL NEVER BE EVER THE SAME AGAIN THIS WAS THE BEST YEAR FOR ME!!! REST IN PEACE KEEF
Leeroy behind keyboards, Liam behind drums... Crazy times
Now leeroy does djing and producing. As does maxim.
@@cjlewis79 I know that. I've seen Leeroys set twice on Jersey 🇯🇪 C. I.
Leeroy and maxim dancing!!!!
I was on the fourteenth of December 1995 at the Prodigy concert and, even, danced with them on the stage of the concert hall "Russia" 💪💪🇷🇺
Break enter live is awesome ! I love liam and alls !!!!!!
"If you remember Glastonbury 95.......... You weren't there!" Remember that? Played repeatedly over the pa all weekend. It's a lie though I remember it, you know not well but I remember it lol. Absolute scorcher n this was the high-light haha. RIP Keith. Thanks for the memories.
Fantastic gig.
I sadly never saw them live. Just found out that my 1994 vinyl copy of Music FTJG is worth a small fortune now... Says something.
That's because everyone goes mad when a band member died. It happens every time someone in music does. Don't forget the band is not dead yet.
Liam makes all the music. I highly doubt his music making days are done with. I kinda hope he has a hardcore breakbeat techno rave renaissance
The gig that made the world realise The Prodigy were more than a "rave act".fucked all over oasis that night!!
Rip Keith.❤
I can’t believe this, I’m genuinely gutted. 95 was my first Glastonbury , got in for a fiver up a hippy’s rope. I didn’t even know they played until now. Another one I didn’t see that year. Great drugs though!
The second summer of love. Hopefully there will be a third. The 90's. Was a realisation of control. And we ain't going out like that 😉
The Second Summer of Love was a 1980s social phenomenon in the United Kingdom which saw the rise of acid house music and unlicensed rave parties.
909&303 on stage. Best era.
Killer intro....hard attack from the 1st minute to the end that so darkly dirt fuckin' amazin performance!!!! R.I.P Flinty!
Great stuff...best band in the world r.i.p Keith you legend
I remember this well
Nice one David !
Made in Essex! Springfield & Braintree massive!
That was a great gig
Wow, more unknown Prodigy tracks I have never heard before
Liam was notorious in early sets to drop unreleased live jams and fills. Only way to experience them was live.
Lol always said Keith flint rolled out in a plastic ball. 23 years ago. When I saw this live. Now have the proof 😆
Anthony W good things come to those who wait, proof man
..i was there too. soooooo good.
It was in an official video lol
I would say may be rest in Peace but Keith ain't going to be resting and it ain't going to be peaceful , his going to be moshing to the loudest music ever made. This was the first time I saw Prodigy, the 90s where so crazy that I can't remember most the bands that I saw but I remember well every time I saw prodigy, the moshing at the front of the crowd was so crazy that many people feared for there safety, I was amazed nobody was injured after the show the word EPIC doesn't do it justice.
@@jackjones5954 seen them @ Rockness in 2009 ,Awesome & so glad I seen them recently ,a sad loss & I'm 💔
12:48 shit, I would love to hear more stuff like this by The Prodigy, some heavy ravey dub tunes, that would be sick.
Wow awesome🎉
What an epic ending! Didn't knew Gabba.
Omg that's the funky shit 😁😍😎
Imagine a guy in 1995 holding his camera the whole gig without reacting much to the music
О май сшет, трек в 1995 году, за 2 года до Жира интересно конечно, Лямка много треков намного раньше их выхода вообще в свет играл на некоторых лайвах.......
I was 24 and everything about this was FKING mental the biscuits etc what a night well what a weekend which started Thursday and finished Monday morning didn't sleep once FKING great times 👍 😴 👏 😑 🙃 👌 👍
I was also 24 & it was the best performance I've ever seen.
Epic
Oasis were playing at the same time on the main stage. Our friends watched Oasis and we watched Prodigy. We asked what Oasis was like and they said''.....alright,....what was Prodigy like?'' ''Fucking awesome!''. They missed out big time!.
This set list is dope
Proud to say I watched Prodigy five times including this show, fucking time of my life , moshed like Fuck every time , may Keith Flint FUCKING REST IN PEACE!!!!! fuck it! he wont be resting and the'll be no peace where he went it will be party, music and flames till the end of time.
Лучший концерт по речетативу Максима
They play Funky Shit but Fat of the land albums still 2 year away.
Liams had been sitting on that for awhile.
12:46 this is basically them playing dubstep in 1995 lmao
Jilted generation
Best album on all times. This take my mind.
Love them to death.
Awesome.
Fucking epic ,no programmed shit just the real deal ,❤ it
the best 🎶
purple microdot day. Remember it well
Sam Fox I loved those days...mushrooms had be eaten before this set I vividly remember the sun going down just as they started then it was like an out of body experience.
Ha ha , for me it was mushrooms , 16 years old , think Oasis were on main stage but left my friends there and stumbled across Prodigy
omg the purple microdot i'd forgotten until you said that.....
Purple microdots were ace. For me though It was a couple of Playboys down and then headed off to this amazing gig with my mates mum. Superb!
@norepetitivevebeats did u knob her? Asking for a friend
Guys a genius ❤❤❤❤❤
