Project Frankenmount!! Celestron CGE Pro Onstep

Hi everyone this is going to be a series of putting life back into a dead mount, as I'm on a low budget this seems to be the only logical way forward as I really need an observatory grade mount as imaging with the RASA 11 the AZ EQ6 GT is pretty much being pushed to its limit. When I salvaged the RASA the deal was to take the mount away with it to. We got it home & set it up in the living room & there it stayed up until now, as parts are near impossible to get now & if you do find any prices are high I didn't really know what to do with the mount. I were browsing youTube & came across Chad Gray's channel after searching for anything to do with CGE pro's. I've watched his video's a few times & I've been pretty indecisive about buying it until now.
When the kit arrives I'll do a part 2 video & upload to anyone who's interested.

Holy moly that’s a tall mount! Hopefully you can get it back up and running in Part 2.

I'm just glad the legs weren't extended on the tripod or it would probably be through the ceiling lol, fingers crossed I'll get it to run again just some backlash to adjust in the RA but that seems pretty self explanatory on how it adjusts.

It will probably be the 11" RASA although I'd like it to be a dual rig at some point but not sure what to use as a second scope as yet lol.

Should be a great mount if you can get it working, don’t lower the pier just dig a hole to put it in, or get a box to stand on 😂
