Really enjoy watching you make sets. I have learned more from you than other trapper. Most skip showing the set making and just show a finished set. No real education of trapping on many channels. Thanks again. Ben

Hi Ed always learning from your videos. appreciate the time you put in them. I’ve been catching coyotes but no one is buying them right now I’m throwing them in the freezer. I’m hoping trappers keep catching coyotes ,if nothing else just keeping the numbers down.

Alot of deer hunting clubs down south are paying for coyote bounties !

I love your videos, and the way you teach. My question is what determines a drag type set for you. I definitely like drags myself, but I find I use them when I can’t get a stake in because of hard or rocky ground.
I’m guessing the reason may be to save the set from being torn up. Thanks for the videos.

If I could, I would use drags at all times, but you do need something for the drag to hang up on. This ranch fit that bill with all of the sagebrush. Saving the set also helps
      Thanks for your comment!

Great coyote video Ed, thanks. Do you trap the same areas every year? If so do you notice the your numbers going down I have this problem? I need more ground right lol?

I bounce around a lot every few years. 2nd year of knowing a area you can drop the population down. It pays to move to new ground to pick up more coyotes

Like the HPP grapple. One of the very first grappled coyotes I ever caught was found a 1/4 mile off hung up in a huge dozer pile. That grapple did not have the right attitude. The HPP has attitude.

Hi Ed, I'm just curious, what trap were you using there?

I'm either using my O'Gorman modified #3 or no bs extreme dogless

Looks like you put a lot of dirt on top of the trap/pan. How much is too much?

My ground is very dry, but if I was dealing with wetter soil I would limit it to about a quarter inch
