I used the same tips to catch my wife.
Lol
Question I trapper a dead pit at dairy a whole back ( the only one that I've trapped) near all the coyotes I caught were so fat it was refocus plus they all red spots all over them under the skin, is it always like this at dead pits? Thank You Butch Broody Mountainair NM
Dead pits do seem to be variable. Some times you get 85% mange while others are as you say. It also depends a lot on weather and time of year. I catch more coming in in December/January when prey is harder for them to obtain. Thanks for the comment.
Thanks
Good video Ed! Use to trap heavy in the 70’s; early 80’s just as prices were falling👎 Use to put alot of miles on the truck. Trapped red fox , coyotes, badger… I enjoy following your experience on the line. Using bigger traps definitely new: with pounding down earth anchors as opposed to Rebar., Thanks Barry Deacon
I'm happy you enjoyed the video. Those were good days back then but equipment is better now
Where do you get your stretchers from? I don't see them anywhere online
Anymore I buy from Top Lot Stretcher
Great videos and very helpful thank you, What’s the dimensions of the cat boards?
I don't know the dimensions off hand. I purchased them at TopLot stretchers
Put an old towel between your stomach and the beaver and it wont slide down the beam as much on you
Good advice
Really great info, thanks!
Trouble with these box's you catch mostly female fisher and marten if USFW would only get off there duff
Well said
Hi We have contacted by email before. I sent you a pair of boots in Jan but I never received the video or message . Do you film the video for us? If not, could you please spare some time to film it? A million thanks in advance if you could do that for us.
Great job showing my friend! Good luck with everything!
I had a similar alleyway at a place i trapped last year, caught 7 or 8 in the same spot
Those are deadly!
I hope to start a beaver line this weekend.good to see your having some fun to
Very good looking aera you're trapping Ed, thanks for sharing it.
Thank you
С полем! Что за нож которым разрезали шкуру от зубов до ануса по брюху?
She was using a replacement blade some may call a disposable blade like a surgeon would use . Thanks for watching!
How long are your steaks?
I believe they are 14".
@@edwardschneider2716 gotcha. I’m in south central Kansas in the Hutch/Kingman area but trap as far west as Kinsley and east to the Wichita metro area. I run into super sandy soil, especially out west. I’ve always been a bit wary of my 3/8 X 18 stakes getting pulled or bent. I’ve been looking at buying auger style earth anchors. You’re quite a bit more seasoned than I so any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks brother!
If using rebar stakes or earth anchors you can always double cross stake if sand will not hold. Also in some areas of goid cover such as Sage and buckbrush I like using drags. Good
Please put some gloves on, terrible example to young trappers
Wearing gloves is a feel good item. A trapper doesn't need them
@edwardschneider2716 these animals can carry rabies, use some common sense
Who makes those stretchers?
Those were made by A.W. Grawe. I also have some by Top Lot Stretcher
Those were made by A.W Grawe.
Did i see that correctly? Did that trap have a screen covering the pan?
Yes. Steel screen wire.
You made that look way to easy 😂
This was so great I had to sub! There are so many specific sub genres of local trapping and this one is another great example. Thanks!💯👍👍
I appreciate you subscribing and happy you enjoyed the video.
That was cool! Thank you for sharing my friend!
Great idea!
Unfortunately leadership at the FTA, NTA, AND CANADA FUR ALLIANCE hasn't responded towards this idea.
Half my traps are in sandhills and sand like that and I have found that poly fill works best for me under my pan in that fine sand. Thanks for the videos
Enjoy your videos here. 👍
Thank you buddy
☺️ P R O M O S M
You got me. What does your acronym mean?
Thanks That was to the point and informative
You should add that trapping road right of way’s isn’t legal in all states, & to be sure to check your local regulations
That was awesome to watch! Thank you for sharing my friends!
Good video Ed, I really enjoy watching two pros at work on the trapline.
Great information.
Hey Ed. It looked like you were running some Duke 650’s in the video. Is that correct?
You are spot on
Any issues with the offset?
Whats with the bare hands?
Coyotes know you were there even with your gloves. If it makes you feel better then continue to wear them.
thanks again
I am new to trapping...this will surely help me...trying to help the turkeys and deer fawns this spring on my farm...I have only caught one coyote...nothing else in a couple of weeks...I am not having a lot of luck...I have a huge bobcat on my trail camera...would love to catch him...Its almost march... any suggestions, would be appreciated...thank U steve from LA...
I appreciate your comment and thank you for watching. You may consider moving your trap and change things up. This time of year gland lures work very well as it's breeding and Denning season. A coyotes range of drops greatly from say 10 square miles to 3 square miles. They protect there pups as good as any parent. September-to October is when coyote pups disperse and is the easiest time to catch. Here is a link to a good gland lure. kansastraplineproducts.com/ols/products/bobcat-gland-lure-joe-stanbro-formula
thank you ... will be watching...
Hey Ed on your Oklahoma suicide I bought some from you at the Missouri rendezvous. Now if you remember you and I setting together eating dinner together you’ll probably remember I’m getting to be an ole man 😂 I can’t remember what the weather is best to use that lure. If you could enlighten me I would appreciate it!! Thanks Ed
Great hearing from you. Use when Temps drop below freezing is best.
Nice video!! Remember seeing you at the renzedous pa trapping convention.
Great information
Great stuff. Thanks.
I appreciate it
Why don't you use rubber gloves for human scent control?
Coyotes know you were there regardless. I believe if you feel better about wearing gloves, continue doing so. Thanks for your comment
I agree, it would be interesting to see a study using game cameras, what their reactions are to the sets, are you aware of any such study? Thanks for sharing your wisdom. @@edwardschneider2716
Very much appreciated. 👍
I’ve learned so much from your videos you are one of the best trappers I know. Thank Ed for all you do!!
I appreciate it!
excellent information Ed , Thanks
One of the best trappers in the country. These videos are amazing.
I appreciate your comment buddy
Chart is very good to make arrowhead.
I’m 23 and quit grizzly wintergreen since 18. My gums are wrecked!
I'm happy you kicked it. Congratulations
Thank you for sharing my friend!!
Do you use just one size board for cats?
If using a solid boards there is two sizes. Adjustable stretchers you can use just one size
Great interaction 👍. Great run on your trapline
That’s a truck load of traps. Glad you had some good trapping and made some great memories!!!
Did you get the one that the guy yelled at me
I did not unfortunately
That would have been a great video
