Glad to see you made it safe and sound! Last year we found that the bathhouse " hot water " is heated with solar panels. So that meant early in morning or a cloudy day or when you were 3rd in line, that you are getting a cold shower! Just FYI. You're RV is the better option

Spent 2-2 week stays there this past winter. Traveled all around NM using the state parks system for about 6 months. Put our F-250 to the test on the back roads. Loved NM. Very peaceful & relaxing.

Really enjoyed the video. Good tip on the fuse. I added one to a 2,000 watt inverter in the big truck when I was on the road for a few years.

Your fuel pump needs to be submerged in fuel to keep it cool. As a retired tech I can’t tell you how many vehicles were towed in from the gas station after just filling up. The fuel pump is over heated, then the tank is filled with cold gas and the pump is ruined. Just an fyi. Enjoy you watching your videos.

If it's at all in the budget consider getting an auxiliary fuel tank in the truck bed. We have the same truck and it completely changed our travel days. Thank you for yor videos and Merry Christmas.

We’ve stayed there many times, in fact as recently as July. My parents retired there and ran an RV park near there. They lived there up until both their deaths. They loved the area.
It has become a place we love!
Please tell us how the weather is in July! I imagine it can get pretty hot?
@@RVUntethered it was about 102 or 103 when we were there in July and we definitely needed 50 AMPS and the second AC. But we tried to stay in air-conditioning in the Walmart or riding around in our truck. If you go again, there is a really great place to sit in the Hot Springs called Riverbend Hot Springs, which is why we keep going back even after my parents have passed on.

I enjoy your videos. I think it's great that you include your dogs. like watching them run around. However, if you haven't already done so, PLEASE consider getting them "rattlesnake trained". A Google search will help you find a good trainer. It's the responsible thing to do, plus I think it would be great content for a video.

Those pups are just the cutest things! Even though you are out in the middle of nowhere, the little black dog would take off if you turned it loose?
She is pretty clingy these days, so she stays close. We would worry about her if she got on a chase though. If we caught her quick, we could stop her. I’m sure she could find her way back if her concentration was broken, but she is WORLDS better from where she used to be.
That’s also why we have a tracker on her though! 😁

Great video. Might want to check your GPS, Elephant Butte is not on the way between Flagstaff and Ark. lived in NM for 5 years. Never paid to camp, too many free areas.
Haha! No, not really! But we love it there!
We are getting braver with trying some of those better-priced and free places . We just get nervous with the small percentage of places that could cause a problem. We’ll get better!
We have always focused more on our comfort level, as opposed to cost. But I’d like to find that balance over time.

I feel more comfortable boondocking than at campgrounds. Campgrounds are too crowded and I don’t like people in my business. Usually the places on Campendium are in accessible areas and with others nearby. Just keep trying some boondocking and you’ll get more confidence and probably find out you like the freedom.

Cody looked much more calm with 0 miles to empty than I do! I get paranoid when out west and have under 1/2 tank. Just curious, you went from Flagstaff towards Arkansas and traveled to EB State Park? I know I hate I-40 with its right lane dips 😂. but you must have planned to visit EBSP. Even being retired and plenty of time, when I drive I just want to get from a to b quickly… I’m too old. 😂. After saying that I want to visit the park as well on our next trip west!,
