Thank God you guys and the Reflection thawed out!!! Can't wait till the next vid, until then be safe!!!!
Thank you!
Glad you enjoyed FTW and survived the cold. We are at Silver Creek RV just about 15 minutes from where you stayed. I recommend this park, they have live music and food at the bar and it’s on a quiet dead end road. Easy access for big rigs, we are 42’. Let us know if you are back through the area, we’d love to have a beer together at the bar!
That sounds like a great place! Thanks!
We love watching yalls videos! We just found your channel not long ago and we watch at least 5 shows a day. You are a beautiful couple and your personalities compliment each other. You’re down to earth and show your true selves. You two would definitely be our kind of friends. Funny and easy going.
That’s so nice! Thank you for watching!
Thank for advice. Safe travel
Thank you!
Glad you are showering again :) nice trip :)
Hahaha
This makes me nervous about going to Washington next! haha. We haven't been to the snow or freezing weather in the camper yet.
Oh no!! We did cut a hole in the bottom and there’s zero insulation on the back side. I’m assuming that it should be there. We’re hoping that this was a fluke!
Wowza!! Glad it has warmed up. Yeah! You have a shelf again!
Ok it is unreal just how much glass that casserole dish made. And was surprised that it was that safety type of glass. That’s really good.
Until next week! Xoxo
😊 That casserole dish was so old! Haha! The new ones probably do shatter worse! That was vintage! 😁
Cowtown is right down the road from me. Aledo is pronounced with a long E sound./ Had to stay there many times in the past. The bridge you arrive at at 7:57 , take a left and we're about a mile away.
Thank you! 🙂 I’m sorry we missed you! We love the area!
Glad there was no damage. Watch you guys on Sunday morning. Wife and I have coffee while watching. Need your advice. We lost our traveling dog Tucker. Want to get another travel dog. Are dashounds cool dogs for traveling. Are they quiet when left alone. Wife really loves your dogs. Thanks Phil from Detroit. 😊
That’s a tough question! Charlie was so easy as a puppy and has always traveled well. He is a bit clingy, so for us all to be together, he’s happy. Ha!
Eris, has been a tough one. She was beating up on her siblings before we got her. Ha! She barks a LOT! She has come a long ways, but she is a VERY strong personality. She’s very loving, but outsiders wouldn’t know it. We shut windows so she doesn’t see something to cause her to bark, when we are away from the camper. They do pretty good by themselves.
I keep hearing that the color makes a big difference on their personalities. Black and tan..so I’ve heard a few times..is a stronger personality. Red and blonde are supposedly easier.
Good luck on your hunt! I’m sorry to hear that you lost your dog. That’s hard!
Glad you survived the freeze up without any apparent issues. Love our roads in this country. Looking forward to what upgrades/projects you will be sharing in the future.
Thank you!! 🙂
Whats not to love about a steel guitar, twin fiddles and a walking bass?
Got the chance a couple of years ago to catch the Bob Wills museum in the old high school in Turkey Texas. Quite the history. His old tour bus is next to the oldest Phillips 66 station in Texas. That whole area has a ton of Texas History. Hotel Turkey has an amazing Sunday brunch/lunch. The Cap Rock State park has a herd of bison descendants of the Charles Goodnight herd. Then there is the Bob Wills Days the end of April.
Oh awesome! I knew there was a museum but that’s incredible!
Thank you for sharing my comment. I didn't realize till now that your fridge is on the back wall. Think about riding on the back seat of a bus and how bouncy it is. I haven't seen to many rigs with that setup. Roll safe my friends!
Thank you!
We have talked to different people in campgrounds and comments, that have told us that the rear fridges take more damages. It does make sense! Our cabinets in the center don’t budge.
Thank you for sharing your lives. Y'all are extremely blessed.
We are indeed! ☺️
Another amazing video!! I'm sure you all know about this trick but just in case you don't. Buy a big package of pool noodles and cut them to size. We use them in our fridge and cabinets to keep things secure. We have zero problems since we started using them. Again great video all, keep up the happy camping!!!
Excellent thank you!
You did good. nothing got busted. smart man
Ha LUCKY!
We put a mechanics light in the underbelly, near the pipes. No problems so far.
Great idea!
Great video guys. We had a red and a black wiener dog just 5 months apart about 20 years ago. They were the most loyal and the funniest dogs we ever had. And, yes girl, get rid of most of those cups, lol.
😆😆It has been a long journey to slowly make Cody get rid of some. I still didn’t get rid of many! 😆
We love the weeks..most days! 🤣🤣 They are characters for sure!
We were just North of you in Denton, TX for that cold snap. I think we freeze up the island due to the lines are literally laying on the trailer chloroplast, no amout of furnace heat will keep it from freezing. Supposed you froze the tank, I wonder if you only froze the line from the fresh tank. It would take a LONG cold snap to freeze the contents of a full tank.
Yes, that statement was dramatic in a heated situation. Ha! Definitely not a frozen tank. 😁
We did cut a hole in the bottom (upcoming vid) and there is no insulation in that area, so that makes absolute sense!
I would like to see the RV industry move to LEXAN shelving for all RV fridges. That stuff just doesn't break. It can scratch but you could always use 2,000 grit sandpaper to polish out the scratches if that happens. Our aluminum cookware has glass lids, and we use those bubble wrap envelopes that Amazon ships products to us to wrap them in when traveling. We also wrap the microwave turntable in one as well. So far, we have not had anything glass break.
Bubble wrap is a great idea!
That lexan was super expensive! If it’s that hardy though, it’s a nice thought throughout the rig!
I should have said an incandescent bulb 75 watt. Keeps the whole underbelly nice and warm. Safe travels
Nice! Thank you!
We are enjoying your journey! We seem to have same interest as we do , as we enjoy the western lifestyle. We are looking to visit Fort Worth area next winter . Since you have experienced this are considering January or February ? Your thoughts would be appreciated?
Thanks , Doug
Texas isn’t as safe from winter weather as the more Southern states (excluding the most Southern portion of Texas of course). But we had an ice storm in Austin last year, during February, which I think is rare. The weather we saw in Fort Worth in Jan, is not uncommon, according to the locals. It may not be long-lived, but I would be prepared for it.
The livestock show is worth every penny, which runs about three weeks in January, so we of course would recommend that time period. You just may need to pack warm clothes!
I am so glad you great folks talked about the great singers of this world. Because Merle is my number one an Strait is in the top 3 an Bob Well is in the top 7 or 8 for me. You just cant beat great music it sings to my heart lol 😊
When you’re right, you’re right! 😊
Glad you dodged a bullet with the frozen tank thing.
Yes, thank you!
Great video, My Grandfather grew up where Bob Wills was from ,Turkey TX. We used to go there for Bob Wills day every year when I was younger. If y'all get a chance swing through Turkey TX, very small town but lots of great history. This year its April 27th. On our trip to Arkansas last year we had a cabinet door fly off from above our TV and landed in our stairs. We got lucky and it did not break. Love the outtakes LoL
We were looking that up when we were closer. We didn’t go, but it would be cool to see the history on it!!
Thanks for sharing! 😊
I want to see more of the collies hearding
That was so nice! We probably stayed there for 30-45 minutes and went back! 🤣
I have the same problem with going down the road. We have a fifth wheel and a residential fridge in the rear. First long trip down the road, even though i thought i secured everything in the fridge, it looked like everything in there went through a hurricane. Most glass stuff was shattered and a couple the plastic shelves cracked. What a mess.
Oh man! I have heard that the fridges on the back, get rocked around quite a bit. Maybe I’ll figure this thing out by the time we get a new RV in several years! Ha!
Insulate the underbelly and electric heater in the basement with a fan. But your Grand Design lacks insulation, no doubt.
Good idea! 👍
Glad you got thawed out. I'm so happy we havent been in freezing weather this winter.
Thank you! Yes, you were smart!
I'm glad the glass was nothing major, but it looks like there is going to be a new casserole dish in your near future. I'm glad yall survived the freeze down here in Texas.
Thank you! I may stick with aluminum for a bit. ha!
I like watching your channel, thanks for sharing your experience with us. Glad you all survived the freeze. Arkansas proud! Safe travels from Hot Springs.
Hello fellow Arkie! Thank you!!
More than likely your fresh water tank did not freeze up, especially the fact your bathroom faucets worked. We have had 3 experiences where our kitchen did not have water. Apparently there is a location that is exposed to freezing. We also have a reflection. Did have one occasion where for 3 days nothing worked. Never resulted in damage. I do think there is a concer of freezing leaving the island cabinet doors open helps.
I believe you are correct. We cut a small hole in the under belly (upcoming video) and didn’t see any leaks or issues. In fact it was dusty, so it was a good sign. However, we didn’t have insulation on that end of the rig, which we found odd. I am wondering if that is normal?
You should move that apple cider vinegar into that plastic container or lower down because when you travel it will bounce up and down on your other shelf. Of course you know where to get a new one if it breaks.
Yes, I’m afraid that could have been the culprit. I think the plastic shelving inserts will help a little. In theory, it should give it a buffer. 😬
Love the outtakes!
😁Would you believe that we DO try to shoot it correctly? 😆
@@RVUntethered Yes I believe but many of us are happy you goof it up!
@@markgosser9578 😁
Maybe you should install some Bilsteins on the trailer, seems like you have a bounce issue breaking things
Hopefully it was just the roads, as they were kind of rough. They just didn’t jar us like they were when our shocks were completely shot.
Quite honestly, it did worry us that we caused it, but we seem to have done okay on the last couple of travel days, since then. Fingers crossed!
We are getting ready to pickup our New TT next week this one will have a heated underbelly and tank heaters (our first trailer did not). So we'll be waiting patiently for when you remove the underbelly, to see what's involved. Safe travels!!
We may not drop it until we get into warmer weather and in an area where we can work on our RV. There isn’t much too it, aside from unbolting some things. The problem is that often times, it doesn’t go back up the way the came down (or at least in our previous experience), so we want to put it off as long as possible. 😆
We did cut a hole in it (in an upcoming video and we aren’t seeing any leaks, nor do we see any insulation on the backside. 🤷♀️ Who knows!
Yep, that's exactly what we're worried about.... How it fits after putting it back up.@@RVUntethered
And next was the floods.. lol.. hotta love our East Texas weather.😅😂😊
Haha! No kidding!
Right at the end of your video the clue for why broken glass, fridge and dish, became evident. It is because those items are located at the very back of your 5th wheel. Going down the road is MUCH bumpier back there than from the axles forward. And for sure the very back feels more bumps than the cab of your truck. Maybe move breakables forward into a different cabinet. ???
I have heard others say that their rear fridges take a lot of damage. I’m hoping my plastic insert shelves add a little buffer and hold that stuff in place. 😬
Moving the glass is a good idea though! My cabinets in the center of the rig, really don’t move.
Don’t you guys have tank heaters?
Yes, the tank heaters were on the entire time. Now, we’re assuming that they are still working, so that gets tricky. But we have camped in cooler temps.
Until we get in a place to drop the underbelly, our assumption is that the wind forced cold air in there. We did cut a small hole in the bottom (upcoming video) and there’s zero insulation on the back side of the RV. We assume that it SHOULD be there.
We’re just not sure. For now, we found warmer temps! 🙂
Not doubting your word on freeze up but it would take a long time to freeze 100 gallons of water. I'd guess that you hots a water line that froze from tank to kitchen. Good videos and lots of info!
Haha! No it definitely didn’t freeze solid.

@@RVUntethered not in our rig! Didn't find any cracked plastic elbows or anything? Still seems odd but glad you didn't break anything. Did see a you tuber that had supply line to kitchen freeze and they had to open cabinet doors! Anyhoo great videos!
@@rayarnold1406 The cabinet doors make sense. We couldn’t see very well, but it was pretty dusty in there, which made us feel better.
We’ll drop the belly when we’re in a more comfortable place and check everything. I think we have a list going on things to check or change. Ha! Get it all at once, right?
Dont be putting glass stuff on that shelf unless theres a thick foam pad to cushion the bumps
I’m afraid that could’ve been the culprit! I’m hoping some more of my plastic trays will help some.
You are FUNNY young lady.
😁
Glad you guys survived the cold just wondering if you guys looked at heating pads for the propane tanks so, you get more out of your propane tanks?
It’s not a bad idea. I know there is a definite correlation to the weather and the efficiency of the tanks.
We look at those “winter prep” items and say we won’t be in the cold..but we know we will. It has been more of being cheap than anything.
So glad the see you have water again and no plumbing leaks. We are on the cusp of purchasing a 2024 Reflection 337RLS and are pervious about the frame issues and the fact you froze up when you shouldn't of. Have you any any issues your willing to share? We are not full-time and will use it 10-15 trips per year. We would love to use in late fall when the nights are cold and Grand Design advertises their Arctic 4-Seasons Protection Package that appears isn't very good.
We have camped in negative temps before, with no issues. We really feel that it was either the fierce, cold wind, or something wrong under the underbelly.
We won’t drop the underbelly right now, but we did cut a hole in it (in an upcoming video) and saw that there wasn’t any insulation on the back end. I’m not sure if that was the culprit, but it may have helped, since we only froze on one side.
Thanks for reply and hope all goes great for you guys. @@RVUntethered
We have a 2021 GD 295RL and our fireplace looks the same as yours. You talk about setting the fireplace on a set temperature. I don’t see how I can do that on mine it just has high and low. Is there something I’m missing?
👍🏽
Have you all gone to the Chuck wagon races in Arkansas yet? I had never been ,and it was quite entertaining
.
Is that the same as the outhouse races? We haven’t been, but we just heard about the outhouse race and it had us cracked up!
We may be close enough this year (not sure yet) to do that. We also want to do the tub races in Hot Springs, but timing hasn’t lined up.
$200,000.00 to $300,000.00 for them Living/Slides
Whooooa boy! 💰

It sounds like it may be a different style. Ours doesn’t have high or low options. Just an up and down arrow and a small range of temps to choose from. I would be careful with that in freezing temps, where it may trick your propane furnace into not kicking on.
