When I saw the picture of you with 12,000 bulbs I thought “she has finally lost her mind! But as usual, you surprised me with your creative approach to the task of planting them so quickly! You are such an inspiration. I can’t wait to see the display in the spring!
That’s hysterical 😭
@Ann I believe in my opinion she’s challenging herself, and like always she’ll be successful and well enjoy the view that will display in the future. 😀🌱🪴❤️🌸.
Ditto 😂
Agreed! 😃😆
hahahah Laura is the definition of "trust the process"
This planting is going to require a place to sit and just gaze at the beauty, a place to dream, a place to rest.😊❤️
Such a beautiful vision. Cannot wait for Spring!!! Such a gift to be able to do this and share the process💝
Yes
She's mentioned putting a bistro set in front of the shed, so it's definitely going to be a beautiful spot to have tea!
Sometimes I have a hard time sitting in my garden; it seems that there is always something to do, dead head something or get that weed. All the while, dreaming and thinking how to add to or maybe how to switch things up.
@@HeySeanPage She also mentioned possibly having a door installed in the back wall of the shed to create a secret garden in the back. A fanciful idea!
It’s always nice to see Laura’s cheerful face first thing in the morning!
Honestly this woman really helps my depression. Warm, kind and wholesome
@@jeng.1439 Yeah. Me too. I lost a friend to cancer last week and I’ve been a wreck ever since. Laura and her beautiful family give me hope for the future. Hang in there. You’re not alone. 🙂
@@willaerley7140 My deepest sympathy!!
My morning feels a bit off when there is no video. I always think 🤔 ok what now? This coffee just isn’t as good 😞
@@lisaburnette6850 agreed 👍 so I just watch some previous videos n that seems to help 😀
There are studies suggesting that under planting orchards with meadows of native and beneficial insect attracting flowers vs grasses both increases pollination and decreases the need for spraying.
Plus it aerates the soil around the trees to allow more water to get to the tree roots.
Or maybe clover?
I was going to add that too. Adding native flowers and grasses is always a great idea!
Good to know, Thank you for sharing.❤️
Yyeess. I usually do native plants under trees. My lantana did really good and the butterflies appreciated it.
Can't wait to see what this looks like when it's blooming! Also, it makes me laugh that the kitties always find you no matter what far corner of the garden you're in 😃
It's like Laura is "home" for them, wherever she is. 🐈 ❤
I’ve been wanting to do this for a while now. Probably too late this season with the selection of bulbs but I will watch in the spring and then order accordingly
Russell thinking "Oh, you made this area nice and fluffy for me to do my business easier." 😸🐈😂
So true of all cats - they have radar :)
Me too. 😀😆 I always wonder when her furry babies will show up if I don’t see them from the beginning. ❤️🐱😀
Well I don’t know about you but I’m completely ecstatic about seeing this area in Spring 🤗 it’s going to be glorious 🙌🙌
Yes!!!!
I know, that's gonna be a Laura flower garden extravaganza.
Im thinking it needs a little mulch. Deepen it up a bit. That look like 3 inches.. Itll settle too.
Me too! I can't wait to see this in the spring. I tried to do this just by not mowing a little area of my grass. Nope. No that easy....
You have impeccable taste and vision, thank you for sharing with all of us who are only able to garden vicariously through you. Finding a channel whose only goal is to share beautiful things and helpful information is truly a respite in today's world. Wishing you and your family all the best.
I agree, an so does UA-cam. They get paid by what they're doing. She's listed as educational, which is very deserving, an educational is the top pay out, at eight dollars per one thousand views which isn't much unless you have a large fan base as she does. With over three hundred thousand views on each of her videos, even after UA-cam takes their cut from ads, she's doing great. Well deserved I must add.
Totally agree.
If only we could fast forward to Spring. This will be so beautiful.
Love finding new ways to be efficient in the garden! And impressive tractor skills, Aaron!
I didn't expect you to actually just throw the bulbs there. Genius! 😂
Only another long time gardener can appreciate the physical stamina and time , it takes to do your projects. You have literally crawled all over your land , my hats off to you! Do it as long as you can! 👏🌞❄️☔️☀️
Hi hi from Johannesburg south Africa. Your gardens are stunning. Love how you help the community with the extra produce and flowers. Your little ones are adorable.
Aaron, your tractor operating skills were very impressive!
After planting bulbs for the first time this past weekend I have a whole new world of respect for all you do Laura. Using an auger to plant bulbs is a super helpful tool but that is hard on the arms after a few hundred bulbs! Miles and miles of respect for you Laura! Thank you for for all your inspiration. I never would have done bulbs if I hadn’t watched you do them and then saw the results you had. And it was hard work but I am looking forward to seeing them in spring!
Going to look gorgeous… Lovely to see Russel swagger on by 😂 🐈 🧡
Holy Smokes!!! I planted 150 yesterday and am beyond sore this morning (totally worth it!). I can’t imagine 8,000 💪🏼You go girl!!
At Minute 8:46 I realized the answer to everyone’s question about Laura’s incredible immunity preventing her from getting sick when the family was sick. It’s all of the biotone fertilizer dust she inhales 😂
Benjamin thinks that this is his mom's perfume!
@@fraukeg.facchini2691 ha ha
Fairly new gardener here. I have often wondered if inhaling all that fertilizer dust is safe and even handling it without gloves.
@@kareharpies Thank you. I was not being serious - merely making a joke.
@@thistooiseds3215 i was responding to someone else but i forgot to tag them 😅.
Tilling the spot first is a great idea. I love how you are teaching Benjamin to clean up. My dad used to tell my sister and I that it was okay to make a mess as long as we cleaned up afterwards. It's these little lessons that stay with kids. It makes them better adults when they get older.
I'm excited for you! This area is going to be a dream come-true garden. You could have a patio in this area. A wicker patio set for small gatherings or a tea party for Amanda Grace with her friends. 🫖🌷🍇☕😁
Aww, Benjamin is so sweet, I love seeing kids and cats in your videos. Monty Don would be proud, throw and plant, his go to way to plant bulbs so it looks like nature pick that spot to grow. I can see a hammock in the orchard in the coming yrs.
🙂
"Willy Nilly" Laura! Willy nilly is my method of gardening I love the meadowy-cottage garden looks. But Laura just chucking those bulbs was a surprise and it shocked me. I had to make sure I was still watching the Garden Answer channel haha. I'm sure it will be absolutely beautiful in the spring.
If there’s a thing called “Garden Super Hero”, that would be you Laura! You tackled that job like a piece of cake. Can’t wait to see them bloom in spring.
Aaron is the master of the tractor! The time saved there was amazing! I can’t wait to see them all come up. What a beautiful sight that will be!
All I could think of watching you on your hands and knees over those two days was "Oh to be young again to be able to do that and still be able to stand up afterwards!"
Whoa! That is an insane amount of bulbs! I can’t wait to see the beautiful show next season! 🌸🌼🌷 Impressive tractor 🚜 work, Aaron! God bless!
💜💚
Russell's like "thanks for the new litter box, mommy" 🐈
I think you will love the Fritillaria Meleagris. I found them last year randomly in a supermarket and was super intrigued as they're nothing like any of those other bulbs. I was a bit scared as the packaging said they don't tolerate frost, but was really happy when they finally showed up.
Can't wait to see the panorama in spring 💐
Holy Moly I need an energy Drink after watching this, PLUS... Aaron get out the power washer for her jeans 🤣🤣 I wish I had just a quarter of your energy❤
Whooo hooo! Let the countdown to spring begin!!! 💐 you made that look amazingly easy ! Tell Aaron he’s got some mad tractor 🚜 skills going on!!
i cannot WAIT to see this!!! oh, and pictures of your kids in the middle of it all!! what a photo spot!!! love that Benjamin is out there with you, always watching and whether he is physically helping or not - he is learning "at the knee" as they say... what a glorious childhood for your children... oh, this is going to be fantastic!!! the garden fairies will move in for certain!!! ❤ ❤ ❤ sigh.... 🙂 ❤ thanks for the video!! 🙂 ❤
Good morning!! I have to plant my bulbs this weekend! My son passed away 😢 October 7th at 32yrs old, unexpectedly of a heart attack/didn't know he had heart problems ( I am beyond devistated-words can't describe) and today we are having a Celebration of life/Halloween party send off for him (Halloween was his favorite day besides Christmas and his birthday) so I will be making myself do it this weekend!
I’m so sorry about your son. Our son passed in 2004 at 33 also from an unknown heart issue. It is and will be for a long time the hardest thing you will face, but your grief will eventually lessen and you’ll be able to remember the good times instead of what you are going through right now. I pray for peace for you and your family.
Laura! You work so hard! You absolutely amaze me with your work ethic, yet your sweetness and humility. And let’s not forget your sense of humor. I cannot wait to see your beautiful Spring bulbs in all their glory! I must say, Laura, you make my mornings. I am a very early riser to get my hubby off to work, and it’s good to sit down with my smoothie and cup of tea and tune in. You get me motivated for my days! 🥰🌷
I'm so proud you're wearing gloves! I used to NEVER be able to garden with gloves but I made a concerted effort to wear them and now I can't garden without them. My hands and fingernails thanked me! Thank you for the wonderful video! XOXO Heidi
Oh boy, if this isn't called dedicated gardening hard work ,then what is it?
Seeing Laura on her knees crawling left and right with her bare hands planting 8000 bulbs surely it says a lot.
I am sure it will be yet another rewarding project . All the best 👍.
The absolute best way to plant that many bulbs! Can't wait for the explosion of color! Laura, you have your mother's laugh!💞
I love how the bulbs were "placed" in such a carefree way. It seems less stressful and will end up having an organic look.
Aaron🚜tractor skills on point‼️➕ Laura with 🧤gloves😲oh my goodness ‼️😂🤣😂
💐Thanks for sharing your wonderful garden with us 🥰
I love how with jubilant expectation your plantings almost takes your breath away in anticipation! Maybe I can plant 100 instead of 10! 🤣
So inspiring! Keep sweeping Benjamin! 🌷🌹🌷
My 65 yr old knees ached in sympathy watching this😂 Great job! I did Buffalo grass and Texas wildflowers in our back acre back in the 90’s and it’s still going strong, a labor intensive project but decades of pleasure.
Goodness, watching you plant all those bulb was exhausting! Seriously, thank you so very much for sharing your beautiful family with us. You truly are a blessing in our lives!
This will be breathtaking! My sister, the horticulture major, told me to leave one area of my garden wild so the south side of my house, thin strip between house and fence went untouched this year. The parsley went to flower, lambs quarter everywhere, tall, gangly bermuda and lizards in such excess that a desert tortoise showed up! I may throw wildflower seed over there (after I cut it down for winter) I had a ton of beneficial insects and a ton of flowers. I like the wild side.
Good morning from Windermere, Florida zone 9b 🇺🇲
You look like your day was glorious to plant so many bulbs.
We woke up to 57°F and need an extra layer for our pre-dawn walk.
Your massive planting is going to look gorgeous. I remember Martha Stewart doing a huge planting many years ago and she tossed them randomly and they were covered with soil. It produced a great Spring Show 👌 Yours will, for sure 👩🌾👍
The benefits of living up north!
Thank you Laura! My husband now will stop teasing me for planting 350 bulbs, and he’s looking for new spots to rototill for more bulbs🤣🤣🤣
Nothing like having the right tools for the job! Toss in a drone, and you’ve got yourself the perfect how-to video. 🎥 When I saw you planting all those bulbs, I thought that is one dedicated , passionate gardener! Can’t wait for the spring! 🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷
So smart tilling the way y’all did. Aaron drove that tractor in those tight spaces so efficiently! It’s going to be gorgeous in the spring. 💐🌼🌸
Wow, 12,000 bulbs. That's going to look so beautiful once they bloom and fill in. You always seem to amaze me with how much you get done in such a short period of time. Can't wait to see it 🌱🌸🌷🌺🌱 Thanks for sharing your projects with us. It's always so great to see you ❤
I am giddy with anticipation for next springs show, it's going to be spectacular. Nice job Aaron on precise tilling. How fun to just poke the bulbs in. This will be the prettiest orchard on the planet 😊. Thanks for the joy!!
Oh wow! That's a crazy amount of bulbs, it's going to be absolutely breathe taking in the spring. Can't wait to see the beautiful display! And you have lots more to plant.....oh boy a mammoth task I don't know if I can plant a 100 of them. I would definitely not go for 12000, my husband will tell me that I am nuts and walk away😁
Good thing you went over the signs for the big pots, that was so funny! Benjamin is a good sweeper, imprest!😍 Yes technology will win every time because is fun not work!🤣 Hugs to you all!🤗💜🤗
Omg the flowers in the pictures your growing bulbs looks like they could be for a fairy garden 😍 and i dont mean those pot ones, i mean a real fairy garden! A garden full of flowers with a bunch of little houses and other minitures! It would be so beautiful
This is an amazing way to handle such a big job! I gotta say your run down of hand signals with Aaron was very familiar. My husband and I have had more arguments over “forward and curl” than I would like to admit! Thanks for all you both do! I appreciate all your hard work and dedication to the channel!
I want see what the off camera signal was. Lol
I read the tagline and said to myself “she’s a glutton for punishment!” Then I watched the video! Man do you make it look so easy. Having the correct equipment makes for easy working conditions. May I borrow your tractor? Lol
Agreed. She has said that they have a team of folks that help with all the gardening, and that is usually not a part of final edit. But you know she does a LOT of stuff on her own.
12,550 bulbs! YES!!! I've been waiting for this adventure to begin! This was so satisfying to watch. I live in the Ozarks where it literally takes 3-5 minutes to plant a daffodil bulb 4 inches deep. Major soil envy every time I watch you plant anything! Thanks for everything you do!
That is going to be gorgeous. Your neighbors are going to come visit for sure! I really like the idea of a meadow look out there. On the days you need to rest, you can just go out there and lay down in the grasses and watch the clouds go by...bring a blanket! Even the kids can nap out there. Make it a family event...so much fun. Congrats on getting all of those bulbs out there. I just have 100 to plant and feel overwhelmed by that! LOL!
This is the first time in four years I'm not planting spring bulbs. We won't be in our current home next spring, and we don't know where we're going to be yet, so this fall I'm saying farewell to my garden. The most heartbreaking part is not seeing the spring bulbs come back - both the ones we planted and the ones that were planted by the occupants before us. Thank you for sharing this step, so I can have the joy of spring bulbs vicariously through you - can't wait to see your bulbs come up in the spring!
Amazing! I told myself before you started to just throw them around for the most natural look and that is exactly what you did. Tilling the soil was perfection! Nice work Aaron. What a time saver. Color Blends bulbs are always so nice.
Looking forward to this spectacular space. 🌱
How fun to watch this process! Thank you so very much! Can’t wait to see what happens when they begin to come up! Laura, you have so much energy and endurance! Both you and your hubby are pretty amazing!! Again…thanks for allowing all of us watch while you guys do the work!! Hugs from Kansas!❤️
Now THAT'S how you plant bulbs. 🤩 It's going to look amazing! 😍🌷
When I saw Laura on her hands and knees my first thought was WOW Samantha Grace could be out here crawling around helping Mom plant the builds.🤓
Laura, you are sooo good at what you do! This making these huge projects look easy, instead of super daunting. Thousands of bulbs! Wow! How beautiful it will be! 💚💚💚
I think I might be the most excited to see these bulbs come up and naturalize. Can't wait for the show in spring. 🌸I'm going to try some specialty💐 tulips,🌷 daffodils🏵 and maybe crocus or snow drops this year. Thanks for the inspiration!!😊👍
Haha I feel the "figuring out the signals" last week we were setting fence posts; I was tractor operator, and my husband was running the driver... in case you wondered...HO, NO, and GO all sound exactly the same over top of the tractor and the post auger/driver machine. (No one got hurt lol 😆) I'm so excited for this project! I can't wait to see how this meadow looks next spring 😍
Am I the only one who found the tilling part so relaxing to watch? It was like a huge version of the desktop Zen garden for me.
What an efficient way to get that beast of a job done! I planted 200 bulbs in these slightly raised garden boxes I have and my back was sore!
My 4 yr old great niece and I just planted 60 Aveyron tulips...she told her Daddy "just wait our garden will be beautiful!" She was so excited😍
Aaron has the best toys! I dream of having enough land to get to have a John Deere. 😂 Oh, Laura, even with the tiller, that was a heck of a lot of work just getting them pushed down into the dirt. Wow. You are amazing!!!
Dear Laura, you have been such an inspiration for me from last 5 years. I have learnt a lot from you and have become so confident in handling my plants, specially succulents. I am now known among my friends and family for my succulent arrangements and I must thank you because I have learnt it all from you and feel happy as some of my friends have also started taking interest in that. It’s difficult to keep them alive here because of the climate but they are thriving well because of all the knowledge I have gained from you. I just can’t wait to see what your property would look like in future. You and Aaron make a great team! All the best and keep imparting knowledge. You guys are good people. Lots of love from an Indian 🇮🇳 living in Germany 🇩🇪
Imagine the spring blossoms on the fruit trees along with the bulbs. Awww.
I can picture it now…..and it is GLORIOUS!! Can’t wait to see it bloom. And that tiller……what a difference.🌷
We just bought a little 30 acre wooded parcel with a 1 bedroom cabin that I said “this property is so beautiful I don’t have to touch a thing!” Bahaha😂😂😂 Meadow and orchard here I come! . Now off to buy a tiller attachment for the tractor and see if I can find a few thousand bulbs on clearance in WI!!
Thank you Laura for never apologizing for who you are. You are teaching me there is always more beauty in nature either placed by God or by hand!! Can’t wait for spring!
OMG, Laura! 9,000 bulbs and you’re just beginning! Bless your heart, sweet girl. Love that Benjamin was helping you. It is going to be spectacular this spring!!!
As a little girl my Dad built me a simple playhouse with a flat roof, upon which I spent more time then inside the house 😂. This mostly because I had a perfect view of our neighbor's shaded backyard (by an enormous old magestic Pepper tree) where they grew a mix of bulbs very similar to what you have planted today. Their entire backyard was dappled with thousands of little blooms. I didn't know they were bulbs (kid) and sat and wondered why every yard didn't look like theirs in spring. Pure magic.
Good job! I have a slope in my yard that is shaded by trees and had wildflowers already when we bought the place. Over the years I have added some of the same bulbs you planted here. It is lovely in the spring and since it is a slope, it displays well for the many walkers we get in our neighborhood to enjoy. I have some Spanish bluebells and fritillaria to add this week. Can't wait to see your meadow.
The first picture with the daffodils shows chionodoxa as well, so you may have another flower in there you didn't know about! Can't wait to see the results, it's going to be glorious!
That tractor tilling scene was definitely Bob the Builder-esque, ha! So fun! Can't wait to see your hard/smart work pay off in the spring!
I can't wait to see this area next Spring.
It's kind of whimsical. It reminds me of scenes in coloring books when I was a kid. Flowers popping up here and there!! So fun!!
Thanks for sharing.
P. S. Benjamin needs a small leaf blower to clean up those little messes of playing in the dirt!! 😉
Miss Samantha Grace looks just like her dad. Her Halloween costume was adorable. You are blessed.
Pushing the bulbs down into the tilled soil reminds me of our neighbourhood squirrels burying cones. Very busy creatures!
Loving the idea of chamomile in the mix. What about a handful of borage?
Really enjoyed this mass planting and watching Laura do her thing! Just crawling through the fluffy dirt !❤ Aaron is truly a dream husband and is able to accomplish any task to make it easier for his darling Laura! Can't wait to see what this masterpiece will show this spring! Sending love from Reno Nevada!
You could plant a red or white clover rather than the fescue grass to get the meadow look WITH the nitrogen fixing abilities of the clover. Maybe it could really help your bulbs thrive plus bees would go crazy for the clover blooms & it would look pretty when it blooms too. Just a thought. Thanks for another very inspiring video!
Oh my you made me remember my gardening days. I have been ill lately and fell a couple of days ago so to see you on your knees planting made me happy for you. Blessings to you.Maria
Laura, springtime 2022 calls for teatime in the meadow!
I always try to watch your videos before I go out and get my garden work done. Your accomplishments energize my soul! Thank you for sharing each step of your beautiful garden creation with us. I’ll try not to complain about planting 30 bulbs in my parking strip. I’m looking forward to the beautiful show of spring bulbs! Thank you!
U guys are the Mark Rober of gargening community. So glad to see this channel grow and expand with more mega projects. Subscriber since early 200k . ❤❤
Bulb planting? O yeah! A thumbs up before even watching! Who else?
I have blue bells over 20 years in the same garden bed. They come back every year and look so nice under my old pink dogwood tree. I really like them, I think you will too specially when you smell them, they smell really good
Aaron has mad tractor skills. All those bulbs oh my. As always thanks to Benjamin and Russell. Will look forward to next spring to see all those gorgeous blooms.
I see your vision it will be gorgeous in the spring! But girl I saw all those bulbs and thought you had lost your mind. Great plan for planting. As always thanks for sharing.
This video is giving me house fever! In the meantime, I will have to live vicariously through your garden🤣 Thanks Laura!
Bless you, you're giving me heart that I haven't left it too late to get my monster bulb hoard planted. It's been relatively warm here too (northern Ireland) and I'm not an experienced gardener, so I misjudged the number of bulbs per kilo and ended up buying 60kg of double daffodils - Tahiti and White Lion. 😬. I've spent the last couple of weeks just digging to make flowerbeds for them, then conditioning our heavy clay soil with 3000L of compost so far, and I ache all over! Still yet to plant a bulb. All told, I've got about 10000 bulbs to plant and when I tried using an auger with a drill, it spun me round the other end 😂 so I'm just going to do it by digging and excavating. Congratulations on getting your bulb mountain in the ground, I bet it's going to be breathtaking! Thank you for giving me some hope that I can get finished too. (Going to need a new body at the end of this, though!)
Praying for your back Laura. Such an amazing job!!! I can't wait to see the finished result!
Her knees!!!!
Oh my gosh this is so wonderful! Our "back yard" started as a field. When my husband took to the tractor to mow it down I insisted he leave plots of it up. Then I went to the outer field to get seeding wild flowers to "plant" in those plots. Even after the years of expanding our "back yard" those wild flowers pop up and I mow around them.
10:32 great footage of little man Benjamin hoisting the bag of bulbs over his shoulder.
WOW, Laura I can’t wait to see it all in spring. I have been watching you guys since your other house. I’m amazed at your accomplishments you both are so inspiring
Your skills Laura and Aaron’s skills to gardening compliment each other so well, you in the design and physical gardening and Aaron with his planning, machinery and mechanical knowledge - the dream team.
It always amazes me that you complain about your soil but compared to our clay soil in the Denver Colorado area, your soil is a dream. It took me hours to plant about 50 bulbs a few years ago and then only about 6 of them bloomed. Can't wait to see the beautiful fireworks in the spring there in your garden
I am looking forward to Spring to see all this beauty. How fun will it be for the kids to run through the meadow? I have garden envy. Lol
My husband just planted 40 plus one that got dug up from last year by accident snd he was exhausted! But we are older! Each year we add 40 eventually we will have a beautiful flower 🌷🌷🌷🌷 garden!
I can’t wait for Spring. Wouldn’t it be nice to have a neighbourhood Easter egg hunt at your property.
Snakeheads are sold out !!! I wonder who got them all , you’re such an inspiration to us all , love your show Laura !!! 💖
It is going to look amazing! I have hundreds of daffodils and hyacinths in our property and they can take sun or shade. They bloom out in the pasture or inside our woods that are pretty thick. Same with our bluebells and snowflake flowers. I am looking forward to spring each year to see them popping out of the ground! And we have heavy clay soil here.
What happened with bulbs? Did they emerge?
Laura! You should do a monogram bulbs planting or a logo bulb planting!!! It will be so cool! Like a Richy Rich style
