Whale sharks, manta rays and other big fish were once common in the narrow Lembeh Strait in Indonesia, but overfishing has long since eradicated the larger species. Now, a new community of unusual creatures make their home on the volcanic seabed. Stone fish, piper fish, cuttlefish, snails and mimic octopuses fight for space with the remarkably weird walking fish.
Some humans groups when you see them, as these fishing on the bay, look so litle councess of anything going on and dedicated solely to their day to day life of eating and not to say what else. Its a disaster that these cultures bring so much of eco system extinction.. but we can only watch and be in pain. Even worse, westerns pay a lot of money to help some of these humanoid groups to help them live longer and reproduce beter, which is insane giving the numbers of how planet is overpopulated already and how much these only bring more and more to the descruction of eco system, and still again they pay for repairing it, which is uninteligent i just must say. Anyways, one of the best, if not the best, animal documeentiries iv seen, thanks, this is wonderfull, il keep up folowing this chanel gladly...
This was one of the most interesting documentaries I have seen from Free Documentary-Nature. It is nice to see and learn about such beautiful, unusual, and interesting sea creatures. I do hope Indonesia will make the Lembeh Strait a protected area very soon. It is so sad to see such a beautiful Island's magnificent beaches, and it's one of a kind marine ecosystem so filled with garbage. I hope they not only protect the rare marine ecosystem of the Lembeh straits, but I pray they also clean up the waters and the beaches, and enact laws and enforce them to keep it clean.
I don't know if it still happens but the navy would throw all the garbage overboard in large plastic bags with holes so they sunk. When you think about how many ships are out there it's pretty scary.
Well you will love the new world restricted as can be and as intrusive as possible. I agree some what but not fully we to live in the wild and that is just life.
2:16 you can see the beauty above water. Incredible! And then the narrator said "obove water, there's nothing particularly remarkable..." look at how beautiful 2:16 is and tell me that's not remarkable.
There is no way that animals/sea life evolves. There is a MASTER MIND behind all of creation. I was at work waiting to be dismissed and I could not stop watching. It was very interesting and informative. It was funny, (coconut octopus and his antics), sad ( we are destroying what was created) and beautifully and skillfully filmed. I will share with friends. Thank you
Fascinating the creatures underwater most for their colorfoul, camuflages that use fof their protection included our wastes. Hopefully, we can preserve this wonderful marine world. 🐙🐠🐟🐋🐳🦀🦞🦐🦑🦪 Thanks for sharing this amazing documentary, great job to the camera person that we can appreciate every species and their environment. Greetings. ❤🌊🌏
i felt so sad and ashamed of what we have done to the environment, the moments i saw plastic bag where the fish was in it also the one which was floating , the plastic cup on the bottom and the broken glass the octopus used it as a shelter we must stop throwing stuff in water and start with ourselves and advice the others as far as we can it harm both us and the nature
I really appreciated the boing sound with the White Lipped Palm Viper. I work with snakes often and I can never convince people that they are as goofy as they are.
Whenever I see a natural ecosystem with such richness in bio diversity I feel like yes this is all we need, unfortunately the narrator says Lembeh straight is one of the endangered areas ...I hope the government will come up with effective strategies to protect this area
We have some little freshwater fish that come out of the pond when it floods and walk around for a few minutes then go right back to the pond.kinda strange.
It's ironic that real aliens maybe different looking but will most likely have a head, torso, two arms, two legs, octopuses and cuttlefish are as alien looking as any creature in the universe, their abilities are remarkable, changing skin colors and skin texture to match surroundings is astonishing.
Amazing documentary! Besides all the stunning creatures, I particularly like the fact that the writers didn't oversimplify the interaction of people and wildlife, but pointed out that many of the inhabitants of the strait actualy make very good use of our trash. As George Carlin said, "nature doesn't share our prejudice". Don't get me wrong, I'm not advocating littering :D But the relationship between people and wildlife is in reality very nuanced and complex and I commend the writers of this film for highlighting that. Too many nature films fall short on this.
I agree there are things we can do, stop chopping down trees, stop dumping garage, plastic in to the ocean. But in big picture, we so very small. The sun is the control. Study it
That worm looks exactly like the giant sand worms from Ark Survival Evolved' desert map. Wonder if that's where they got the idea for the overall design of Ark's Sand Worms, since they look nothing like the ones from the Tremors movies.

Only if humanity realizes the importance of nature, that would be amazing to see nature's ecosystem be return to its full form!🍀🙏🤞
In islam it is alowed and very good to eat sea animals like these, adn so much about the protection...
What a wonderful documentary. Absolutely beautiful.
This is how science should be taught. Great information...beautiful photography!!
We agree 😊
- 5:20 so interesting to see paved roads in remote parts of this Island 🏝 🤔
We need to protect these environments 🌐 .. the beings that inhabit it shouldn't need to adapt to human toxic behaviors.

They shouldn't. But I really really hope they can...
Cringe comment
You mean male behaviors. Women didn’t do this.
- 6:50 That is the cutest little thing I've ever seen 😍 💖
That’s a monkey!?! Agreed so precious oh my goodness
I have been to the Lembeh straight. My parents moved to the island. Words could never describe the beauty of that part of our planet. 💙🌏

I love this one. I find documenttaries so entertaining. I died laughing when that crab flipped over.
Diverse,colourful and mysterious underwater life

The music at the beginning matching those going down had me in awe.
That little hermit crab stood on business and got his home back! That was awesome 😂😎

Wow, absolutely amazing!!!
Nature is beautiful
great documentary. full of amazing animals and very relaxing

19:36 These eels made me laugh man 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
ecological diversity is my favorite
Amazing footage 🥰

More documentary videos please

The ribbon eel sexes were incorrect but still amazing photography and fun to watch.
Love it.
- 4:07 what kind of animal was that in the road?
I think it was some kind of crab. But hard to figure out
We have some little freshwater fish that come out of the pond when it floods and walk around for a few minutes then go right back to the pond.kinda strange.
thank you friends of
life science and general love🐬
Amazing 🦀
First they overfisded that area , then they left all kinds of junk in the sea !!!!
I always dreamt of owning a salt water aquarium with loads of manta shrimp plants rocks the whole shabang.

Wowie Zowie!
I kinda feel like yall may have put that poor crab in front of the Mantis shrimps den.
This is such a tragedy that this area is not also protected..what makes the criteria.. the strait needs protection..
Awesome video bt the sound is very bad, sorry :)

The creature on the thumbnail looks exactly (to 99%) same as the first boss on the Game Boy game Gargoyle's Quest, creepy!

@ 25:29 That's a fn reaper from mass effect lol.
Are frog fish a distant cousin to the angler fish ? 🧐
Frogfish are any members of the family Antennariidae, a type of anglerfish that includes about 50 species.
Thought they resembled one another 😂
Anemone or an enemy?
Frog fish?
How did Squidward get a coconut? 😂
God made all creatures the way they are...
Not a bad documentary except all the non-sense 'evolution' talk. 🤣🤣
Seven days to God is eons to us. Evolution is real.
God made them by evolutionary means. No nonsense in facts.
The Bible is proof God made us in His image as human from the beginning, separate from the animals.
@@cheryldahl9192 the Bible was written, rewritten, and changed many times by men to suit themselves. It isn’t proof of anything.

I am really impressed by the 2 hour interview of Tucker Carlson and Vladimir Putin.
