From hunting traps to metamorphoses, get an up-close view of the visually stunning world of nature's tiniest creatures in this revealing documentary. Little is awesome.
Around 30 minutes there is an indication that beetles (Order: Coleoptra) have the largest number of species for insects. It's believed currently that was a bias developed by 17th and 18th century collectors who concentrated on beetle diversity. There's a whole backstory of how they concentrated on beetles over other insects. Currently there is a consensus among entomologists that flies (Order: Diptera) have a greater number of species. The issue of course is that it takes time to study/identify/name all the species, but with what they have discovered to date, it appears that flies will overcome beetles in number of species. Just my opinion from what I've read and studied as an amateur bug enthusiast. Still, a great vid about something I'm enthralled with.
Also, ant colonies are almost entirely female with the males being drones that are only used for reproduction early on. So the army ants are not brothers.
Meganeuropsis was the largest dragonfly (though closer related to Griffinflies) at 43 centimeters long and lived between the late Carboniferous and the late Permian periods. Not the Devonian period.
The Dung Beetle is the Strongest animal in the world.. Take an acre of forest in the United States and go down two feet into the soil. Spyders eat enough insects in that acre per year that would equal all the numbers of all the human beings on the Earth..
Gosh!!! I keep trying to watch these nature documentaries but they always seem to be giving wrong information and being slightly sexiest 😅 at least with this channel
3 minutes in and theres already a lie. The orchid pretending to be a bumble bee is NOT mutually benefitial for the insect as for the flower. The bee gains 0 out of the trickery.
You're right. Yes, he may have gotten some nectar & pollen. But this flower was luring him with the sweet smell & appearance of sex. But the bigger question should be... How does a plant, with no brain, realize it needs to evolve in this direction? There are many holes in the evolution theory. At 18:45 A butterfly is being born. Just before that, a mosquito... All that exquisite beauty & diversity. Coming from a cosmic soup of single celled organisms... Really?
@@annachristina6539 your brain has no bearing on your evolution. No one is thinking and directing their evolution. Evolution works by just selecting, based on environmental pressures, the most viable organisms over time. It is the most perfect process, that is inevitable
@@annachristina6539 yes. Really. in fact it’s been proven that building blocks of life can occur spontaneously. there are only holes when you don’t understand how it works. Plants don’t choose to evolve. Neither do animals. A plant (or animal or fungus or whatever) presents a phenotype caused by a gene variation, that variant is slightly better at surviving than any of the other variants, so they pass that variant on to offspring since they survived long enough to be able to reproduce. Then the offspring of those offspring display a slightly more exaggerated phenotype caused by that same gene or combination of gene variant, and so on and so forth. YOU not understanding doesn’t negate that. Now, under the assumption that you are approaching evolution from a perspective fueled by a narrow understanding of religion, if you’d like to discuss how evolution is probably the best evidence of a God or higher power that we have..I’d love to extrapolate further.
It's a shame you can watch a nature video without them adding religion. Evolution was concocted by a white supremacist who believed the white race was superior to all others. A dictator of world war two devoutly followed those teaching and tried to concur Europe and genocide other races. If you want to talk science bring up intelligent design proven by biology among others. It is completely undeniable in the insect world.
the heavens declare the glory of God. The firmament declares His glory. Who but God alone could create all this. Certainly not a big bang a gazillion years ago. No intelligence there. The lengths man goes to in order to make up "evolution" so he doesn't have to answer to God..what ego & pride we have until we acknowledge Him.

Imagine being a wildlife film maker. What a fascinating job.
Somewhere amongst the BBC documentaries is a series showing the inside workings of filming insects, I think its 2 years old. Worth looking up :)
If I could live life again, I would definitely have appreciated nature more.

Brothers is being used as a catch all term
@@Caelus32 Sisters would have been a more accurate term to use.
SISTAHS!!!
I know what’s up!

The aphid even shakes its booty to say "no"! Incredible really that relationship.
Perfect timing for me.
I feel so bad for that ant 😢 What a way to go out
An ad for an insecticide seems poorly placed but I'm sure the algorithm knows best 😕

Bill gates want to cut carbon!
Yet tree’s are useless and need to be cut down!

Stunning documentary of great beauty nature's traces of the world of extraordinary creatures.

Great visuals! Thank you.
Such high-quality content.

Cool. Thanks for sharing.
fantastic video !
35:01 does anyone know what the bird making that sound is?
Sorry. I do not know. It’s quite distinct. Hopefully someone on here will help you.
IT Sounds for me Like a lark.
The 40:00 ants are from amazon rainforest??? Man, is crazy being from Amapá - brazil and recognizing these sings of bird

Who composed the "music"??? He must be in the looney bin now.
He composes his music from within the looney bin
Who else is thinking of love and monsters while watching?
The music in this video is beyond annoying
It was hard and painful to listen.

Pollen is a resource for the bee.

Weird how you assume there is only one pronunciation worldwide.

No such thing as evolution, God made it all... Apparently. 😂😂😂

لا اله الا الله وحده لاشريك له له الملك و له الحمد وهو على كل شيء قدير

apparently...just a lazy person's way to explain anything.
