That was definitely a French crab trap. Once dropped, never fired, put on the mantle while grandpa concocted lies about belonging to the non-existent resistance. Those Ford road flares should be sent to ToolScouter. He has an almost identical set. They need to live together. Nice video.
George, loved that Dodge comment! Someone gave me that same B&D grinder, that was a great deal. When I first started driving a school bus they had those reflectors in them. Now it's the plastic triangles. That carpenters box is really cool and loaded! Definitely like that beefy looking vise. And that game is a mystery to me. I have a couple dozen of those planes made from wood, lots of sizes. They came from a furniture makers shop. Really nice haul George! Looking forward to the resto of those game components. Crab trap is cool, my buddy lived on the west coast and took us crabbing. We ate like kings that night. You’ll have to do a clean up on robins rusty box, nothing a little lubrication can’t fix. Good stuff George, thanks.

Hey Pat Thanks Buddy! The blades are pretty good. they need a cleaning with some 0000 steel wool and WD the handles need a bit of attention still sharp though.. I'm excited to learn more about the quoits I think it's gonna be a fun game.
I was at my local Re-store and saw a modern brace. Thought that was odd. The Mayes level. I still use a Mayes level rule, 4ft and use it to center and level wall hangers for customers. Incredibly useful and under 20$. Still USA made. Thanks again, George. Hope your crab ventures are plentiful.

Never saw the game before. My dad had one of those grinders. I use to have two set of them reflector, but they grew legs. I have been wanting some tee handle Allen & torn, $10, score. The one I like best is the vice. Have a great day

Well, today I walked around the flea market for 2 hours and the only thing I found was a PB Swiss Tools screwdriver costing 50 cents. But it is also true that you never know what you can find, at the same market, a year ago, for 3 euros, I found an ancient wooden plane in solid ebony.
Unfortunately many flea markets and antique stores near me have been shutting down. I was just getting started collecting old tools and have a dwindling amount of resources for finding them! Auctions still provide but sometimes the wait for lots I am interested in isn't worth it, though.
Sorry to hear that. I have never done auctions and i don't shop ebay. I buy from the guys that go to the auctions though. Look for yard sales or estate sales good places to find some tools sometimes.

I can see why you picked up the 5" B&D grinder. It was sad. LOL Be careful or you will start collecting grinders. I accidentally am a collector, I picked up 4 no-name one one not working Craftsman for $60. I fixed the craftsman for $1 (bad switch). So now I have 10+ bench grinders from 4" to 8" and one belt driven mandrel bench top grinder. Its weird how that happens. I look forward to your videos every week!! Thanks for sharing your finds..

Hello! No I don't think the tail is a coat hook..The hanger on the back is very small for just hanging it on the wall. I don't think it will be painted after all. The wife likes it just as is.
