Pure lunacy. The defense is not a problem. Why the DBs are 10 yards off the LOS is baffling
I've been saying this for the first 4 games. This is a Jim Knowles bs thing. A player said in a presser after the game that they are playing bend but don't break. Jim Knowles is getting paid 2mil to player scared defense.

It is all Jim Knowles.playing this soft dumb defense. It's not the players. Playing 10yds off is crazy. You can't call yourself BIA if your coach doesn't trust you to play real defense.
Too many wideouts open in the first half.

Why would we run an NFL level defensive scheme against a bad team? Js we played a vanilla defense, and although we gave up a few chunk plays here and there we still forced 4 turnovers, had 4 sacks and held them to below 10 points. And we easily could’ve won that game 52-7 or 59-10, but we respectfully took our starters out with 3 minutes left in the 3rd quarter, and let our 2nd and 3rd string get some reps and run out the clock for the rest of the game. We were favored to win this game by 24 points, we won by 31, just bc we didn’t blow them out 42-0 doesn’t mean our DC needs fired. 😂
@@TheFatherof2 I understand your point, however, we as a fanbase say the same things every year about issues that we're obviously seeing. And we're told hey the team is just playing vanilla and holding things back. Then we get exposed by a team/coaching staff that's on our level and lose because of those same things we saw earlier in the year.

They gave up 7 points. Cmon lots to learn from. On to the next one
2/9 on 3rd down, 3 turnovers, 4 sacks, less than 250 yards & 7 points (on a short field). They're fine. A classic "bend but don't break" unit.

Facts. His scheme has been a problem. Ryan Day has a weird way at looking at defense as well. Remember he hired Hafley to run the single high safety coverage that worked until he left and we no longer had a front four that could dominate and lock down corners. Then he goes and hires Combs😂😂 then somebody told him that the best defensive coordinator in the big 12 in Knowles was the answer. I’m still not sold and if we lose this season including the playoffs it will be a defensive letdown.
What are you crying about. Every team is different. I hate to tell you's teams are going to score points. All I ever hear are complaints. For some reason you all think that we are going to score 50 or more points a game and give up a long field goal once in a while. Sorry to tell you it doesn't work that way. This team is playing great. So how about appreciating the effort they give. If you want to be a crying and whining about everything there is that team up north looking for crybabies. GO BUCKS!!!!!!
Knowles has been off this year. His schemes are wack, has dudes playing prevent D and being non aggressive in general. Let the dogs eat and stop messing around

lol the defense being a concern😂😂. Who has a better defense than us right now. Georgia and bama have suspect secondaries. Michigans defense lets teams comeback in the 2nd half. Just accept that this defense starts slow and clamps down in the 2nd half

They're not acting like the best defense in the country. They're acting like a defense that, when they play a talent equated team, will fail enough to put their offense into the type of hole that will necessitate a very high level passing performance from Will Howard. That will be interesting.
sonny is my fav player but man he’s struggled. arvelle has played the best at lber and deserves more snaps
We need to have Sonny and Hicks attacking versus reacting. Play them as the Jack. We had three early games to potentially try them in the Jack role and we don't. I guess maybe we're holding something back, right? 🤣

Right now they are the best top 15 defense.
When we come out and run our scripted plays we go right down the field on teams as well. Yes! I agree from kickoff I'd like to lock things down but scripted plays aren't on tape usually opening drives or 10-15 plays. The LBs are a weakness but we make up for it with great offenses and 2nd half defensive adjustments. Every team has weaknesses including Georgia and Alabama so let's not get over our skates here. Aside from Will Howard throwing into double coverage we played well. On tape JJ was the deep man and wide open on the intercepted pass. Perfect performance No but I'm not panicking. We stay healthy we in good shape down the roads
This is why even Ohio State fans hate most Ohio State fans. Day nedds to go(lets forget he has the second best record besides Kirby Smart since he has been coach. Brings in a top 5 recruiting class every year and is like 34-3 in conference (michigan cheated). Got alot of people complaining about Knowles because of one game where he didnt want to show much. Did u forget these defense before he got here????
As long as they hold the other team to less than the bucks offense you needn’t worry
Slightly concerned about lb’s or lb rotation. It just seems to me Knowles plays very conservative. It’s more about beating your man than called pressures.
I just don't understand how this defense is worse than last year. They returned almost everyone except Tommy and Steele, added Caleb Downs. Are they really THAT reliant on Tyleik?
Michigan State is just as bad as they were last year . I think your team is better on offense cause yeah msu sucks so if they scored 7;it's cause they suck on offense to where your defense any teams defense can be even mediocre and they shoot themselves in the foot with turnovers so all in all your defense is very good but your offense is better. Reason why you beat Oregon they're defense wint exist I bet you beat them by 2 Tds don't sweat if Ohio State your going win the conference im just curious when you play Michigan how bad they beat us and the state score kind of reflects that I think your the only team that can beat Texas
Average less than 7ppg on defense, I’m going to give them the benefit of the doubt. Plus they are getting more reps to the backups, that will yield dividends. One things seems obvious, Reese needs to get more snaps at LB.
Perhaps they are playing the long game and orchestrating an entire season, not just one game. Oregon is coming up and I bet they don’t play that far off the LOS on them.
