@christianwalker1653 cool opinion "not"...those exclamation points are full blown capitalized btw. yanno, just to emphasize how trash on so many levels that comment is, from outdatedness all the way to the fact that you took time out to try to negatively impact someone else's contribution. And yeah I got nothing but time, so the irony of me taking the time to respond to this, albeit one month later isn't lost on me, but I felt like you're a trash person I hope you feel better about your life soon.@@christianwalker1653

PLEASE READ MY HALLOWEEN COMMENT!!! Dusty mentioned last week they ought to give out meat for Halloween. One of the first times we took our kids trick-or-treating, a man answered the door and said “oh no, my wife just went to get candy. Hold on and let me see what I can find.” We waited a few minutes and then he came out and dropped a small can of Vienna sausages in each child’s bag. My kids were dumbfounded, but it is one of my favorite Halloween memories!

As a current Home Depot vendor for Behr Paint, what Dusty said is spot on. My solution, was to learn where everything was in my 5 stores so I could help people even though I don't wear an orange apron. I get compliments sent to Home Depot all the time and the funniest part is when they say "there isn't a Matt that works here" but then they realize it's about a vendor haha 😂

Wonderful to see Mr. Bargatze again! So sorry to hear about your kitchen. We just bought our first house in July, flooded the finished basement the first night we got the keys (we had not moved in yet, just painting) and the insurance company said 3 months to get it fixed and it took the entire 3 months. It is waiting on whoever is last person to work on the problem seems to take the longest to get to you. Good Luck and enjoy the temporary housing arrangement. Can't wait to hear those stories!

When I was in college I worked as a subcontractor installing blinds and window coverings for a former sponsor of the Nateland podcast. The crew was based out of Colorado springs CO, which is not Utah, but does have a decent Mormon population. I was the sole non Mormon on the crew. We always worked in rotating 2-man groups. Wonderful people, but I always got a kick out of the fact that every one of them to a man drank some sort of caffinated beverage on lunch break, and asked me not to mention it to the other Mormons. I never did.

@natebargatze My favorite comedian and favorite band on SNL!!! But, you had to pick October 28th...
My wife and a couple of friends have tickets to the Indianapolis show in the 4th row...I jumped on tickets early when I heard you would be in Indy. When the news broke about your SNL invite I initially went to show my wife in excitement!!! After double checking the date, I gotta say that excitement for you turned into being a little bummed that we wouldn't see you in Indy on October 28th. We've all been looking forward to it for the last year. Completely understand and we will definitely be tuning in for SNL! Knock em dead!
You mentioned in a one of the podcasts in the past that you would love to play Brickyard Crossing when you're in Indy... Now that you've rescheduled your show for June 27th, should I make a tee time for us? Say 10am?

I’m with Dusty and Stephen on haunted houses. However, I did book a stay in a haunted hotel accidentally. My two kids (kindergarten and 4th grade) and I were on a road trip. I booked a hotel in the tiny town of Tonopah, Nevada to help us get closer to our next days destination. We arrived around 11pm. Just walking in the building the atmosphere felt different. I shook off my concern and went upstairs to our room. I found a newspaper proudly displayed on the bed with the headline “Mizpah Hotel #1 Haunted Hotel In America”. With no other options for hotels I told the boys to get in bed and hoped to make it through the night quickly. I was praying and playing instrumental hymns to calm my fears. Every hour to the minute I would wake up hearing water running in the bathroom at various levels from full force to a trickle all night. I grew up baptist but I felt very catholic telling the commanding the devil to leave every time I was awake. We did make it through the night and left in a hurry the next morning. . It makes for a good story now. But I have never been so scared in my life.

Agree. Its a bit much. Nateland started out really fun, but lately it feels like church camp, and not in a good way.

At 1:49:35 Who knew that Brian would have the most inappropriate comment of the whole episode on a topic about Halloween with Dusty.

I don’t know how I’ve gotten away with this for so long but 10 years running now every candy holiday my kids bring in a haul. They go through the normal separating rituals and admiring their takes and we’ll let them have several pieces that day. Then we put it in a cupboard out of sight and they get to pick out one piece each day they’re good (at home and at school). After about 2 weeks we stop giving it to them and they always forget about the candy. A few weeks later after my wife and I eat off of it late at night I eventually bring it to work and set it out for coworkers to add to their diabetes.

In recent years, we have found houses giving parents hot dogs and hamburgers instead of giving candy. Pretty fun surprise for every parent!

I work at the VA as a social worker, and I can guarantee Dusty looks like a Vietnam Vet in his jacket or not. Now if he only had a wheelchair at the Southwest checkin, I think more people would see the correlation. But in all seriousness, I love our disabled Vietnam Vets.

You know, for all the stress, effort and money that Dusty and others seem to be spending trying to ensure they get "the good seat" on a Southwest flight, might I humbly suggest you look at an alternate airline? Perhaps Delta? I used to fly from LA to Tampa all the time, and Delta was the only direct flight so I racked up the points and status, it was great. Later Southwest entered the game, and while sometimes their flights were cheaper, if you booked at the right time, Delta was still competitive, and I now had status to get upgrades, free drinks, and other perks. I'm just saying Dusty, you can whine all you want about the lack of service and the injustice of people trying to snake your seat or crush your backpack, or you can pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and join the rest of us on the other airlines. Love the podcast guys, hilarious!

I actually skipped the first episode ft. Nate’s dad because the topic was “magic”… being weary of things like this (and channeling my inner Dusty) I didn’t listen to it on my first go-round. After this episode I immediately went back! I was so happy for the clarification and can’t wait for Steven to be on another episode! Keep ‘em comin!

Stephen nailed the grandfather name process. I really wanted to honor my Grandpa Thomas by being "Grandpa." My first granddaughter, Aria, tried to say grandpa, after much coaching by me, but it came out "Pop Pop." Now she and her two sisters all call me Pop Pop. By the way, Nate, your dad is a great guy. I don't like very many people, but I like him. All you other guys on this podcast are ok I guess. Thanks for the podcast.
