Thank you so much for you kind comments. Writers tend to be plagued by doubts about their work (I always am, anyway) so it's great to know at least some people enjoy the results. I once worked on lots of different TV comedy/light-entertainment shows, then moved on to screenplays, and now I'm hoping my first novel, once it's finished, will also find an appreciative audience. So thanks again :-) You made my day!
Thanks for your kind comments, guys. It's been a while since I wrote the sketch but I'm glad to see that people are still enjoying it. (At least, some are, I see one person felt moved to click 'dislike' lol - oh well) BTW if anyone would like a PDF of the script just drop me a line at rainoutside@hotmail.com - it contains the lines of dialogue and all the action/direction sequences. Those who do like the sketch may enjoy reading it. I hope so, anyway. Cheers :-D
@thealextwilight101 Thanks for that thealextwilight101 - i had no idea they had played the sketch in the National Maritime Museum in Falmouth, Cornwall. Oddly enough, I had originally thought of setting it in a Lighthouse off the coast of Cornwall (I used to have my childhood holidays in Cornwall) but later decided that Scottish accents might work better for the sketch (and be a bit easier for Mel And Griff) - but who knows, maybe it would have worked just as well with Cornish accents ...
Yep, we've just got back from a trip to the Maritime Museum too. I was watching the sketch with headphones on and apparently smiling and giggling like an idiot while my family looked on...when I called out to my partner to come and listen I did it in an absurdly loud voice (they tell me) as I still had the headphones on!
If you enjoyed my work/this sketch, please check out my novels: THE SNOWMAN AND THE SCARECROW, STANLEY McCLOUD MUST DIE!, and BARNACLE BRAT (Winner of Indie Novel of the Year 2016) *Please note they are dark comedies intended for grown-ups only. The way Griff says 'don't do that!'.
Do what? ;)

I like the way that despite their disguises, you can still tell instantly it's Mel and Griff ( Which is of course the whole point).

As a Welshman Griff nails the Scottish accent perfectly 😂
Agreed :)

I saw that in the museum several years ago and I was the same lmao
I’ve thought about this skit a lot but only just thought to search it.
Best skit ever!
This was magnificent.
I love this one, so funny. And their accent :-)
Thank you, Ploni :)
Haha!! It's the best. "...or why don't you stick up your hooter?" 😄
2:21 LOL
Should pale death with treble dread
make the ocean caves our bed,
God who hear'st the surges roll,
deign to save the suppliant soul.
I had to come find this sketch after watching 'The Lighthouse' too! Haha!

Amazingly funny as so often with Smith and Jones, but why is it so hard to get their shows on dvd? Thanks for showing this :) great work!
