I love documentaries like this because I just learned about a sport I've never heard about. I love Wrestling, Jiu Jitsu, MMA and have followed it for 35 years and I've never heard of Laamb and I'm already a fan. This is amazing.
Yeah it's a beautiful and nice sport call laambou but that (ou) is silence. The king of the sport will be fighting November 29, he will be defending his throne and tha king is modou lo
There is something about senegalese people that I like so much. They seem so connected and down to earth for some reason. I cared for a senegalese dude with a heavy form of autism for 3 years, he was such a chad!
As a Senegal born and raised who grew up around Lamb i have to say this is such a well done documentary, and you managed to cover every aspect of this underrated discipline. Absolutely brilliant !
And that's exactly where world heavyweight MMA champion Reug Reug comes from. This sport is an anthem for us Senegalese. it is a tradition and a source of pride. thank you for this documentary and respects to all our glories
Great doco Max, well done, and well done people of Senegal keeping your traditional wrestling/sport alive.....so many countries around the world need to keep these cultural activities going.....amazing atmosphere, God bless you all.
Man, this is absolutely incredible, I've never seen anything like this. The rituals are so fascinating with the dancing and the blessings and shamans, what an incredibly deep and rich culture. I love it. I'm an American so any time I see people engaging in such rich and old culture I feel such a deep fascination and envy, and obviously Africa has the oldest cultures by a long shot. Amazing.
Even through the screen it feels unreal and passionate, just like the video about Calcio Storico, you real feel that unexplained something in the air, in the stadium. The game faces of the wrestlers the sound, the vivid, vivid color just makes you feel like your there in the crowd cheering too!! Great video and hope to see more obscure but amazing sports!!
This is my ancestors sport: sérère ❤ I grow up in this sport. Now i wanna be an MMA fighter 😊 I was born in a village next to 'ndianda' I'm very happy for this documentary. Thank you so much 🙏❤️
I see the violence brings together everyone in the culture and the amount of passion these people have for the sport is impressive. I'm sure these people spend what little they have to watch their favorite wrestlers throw down in the ultimate demonstration of showmanship and skill. Great job on the video/editing. I will be looking for more content from your channel! Being a rugby fan helps
Wow great documentary! Insightful story telling. Loved how immersive it was, you really went above and beyond, loved the training segment in particular. Very awe-inspiring. Thank you for shining a light on African culture. Got yourself a new subscriber!
As an African American, I am very impressed. I love the pageantry, the showmanship, the atmosphere, and the athleticism. This documentary has captured the essence of Laamb.
Kudos! Kudos! This documentary on our national sport Lamb is the best and amazing doc i never seen such professional and sincere ypi Only show what you seen that's make us proud as Senegalese 🇸🇳 and African also some of unsucces wrestlers use to play rugby ludos
Thank you for this documentary, it was fantastic! I am not Senegalese but i am a black Brit of Nigerian heritage and i appreciated the respect you showed West African culture. Love & respect brother.
blessings & protection are the two that won't hurt you in what you call "black magic" in Senegal. this is different than Voodoo in Benin or else, as you can see he was bringing all the time "in God willing" in his words.
I love watching Laamb. The pageantry, the culture, the brutality, and the aesthetic of it. You don’t see that in other sports…It makes you feel that you’re connected to it in some way
"Talismans don't guarantee victory, but they raise the spirits". This was an interesting way of looking at it. Another aspect is the fighters believe it to be true that without a Shaman guiding you in the arena, you will lose. So in a way, they are creating the problem they tried to overcome with Shamans having power to sway a match. Max was surprised at the end that people fight bare knuckle. There are several organizations that are bare knuckle fighting organizations. Fights every month, videos all over UA-cam. This has been building over the past couple of years and it's getting pretty popular.

the fact that it's on sand, there's no weight category and there's no time stop shows how difficult the sport is. Sometimes on the beach I do jiu-jitsu fights with my mates and because of the sand we get all scratched up. imagine where it's more serious.
This is probably the closest we got to Early Bare Knuckle Boxing today. It's got wrestling, it's got bare handed punching, it's got sand. It's fighting before the Queensberry Rules.
Great documentary buddy greetings from Senegal 🇸🇳. By the way Ama balde is a son of a great wrestler Falaye Balde he used to be seen next to his son during his matches when he was alive. May his soul rest in peace 🙏🏿
I'm senegalese and journalist but this documentary on laamb is the best I've ever seen yet. Congratulations
