As a long time race enthusiast here in Oregon, I have to say I'm glad to see that the folks down there are doing something to improve the racing. I hope that this is what it takes to improve the competition and bring in more fans. This should really open things up.

You did well for your initial run. It's amazing how much horsepower those Dwarf cars have. We had several 1/4 mile tracks here that ran them. They would put on a good show. I am happy to see it catching on the west coast.

It's always good to have a new venue! Can only help to promote and expand Dirt car racing, especially with that seating !!!
    GOD BLESS Y'ALL !!!

It's great to see a new dirt track in Oregon. Looks really nice. Dwarf cars are probably my favorite class other than sprint cars and midgets. They always put on good shows wherever I watch them race.

Roseburg was a Awesome 1/2 mile Dirt Track back in the 70's, we ran Flat Track Motorcycle Races on it for years till they came in an Covered it with the Black Tar of Death !! Glad to see it back to it's Original State !

I wish we still had a 1/2-mile dirt track somewhere in the NW. I think the closest one is Calistoga, CA, and that's been closed for a few years. Portland Speedway was converted to a dirt track the last few years of its existence, and we saw some great Late Models and World of Outlaws Sprint Car races there. I/t was fun while it lasted!

I told Brian I`m looking forward to coming down to watch next year..and yes a outlaw race there. this place could very well be the west coast speed palace .glad to see you having fun.

From what you could show us of the new dirt track it looks cool. To bad that your time in the i1 couldn't upload. Knowing how you can run in that car sure would've been cool to see it. Oh well that's the way things go sometimes. I'm sure we will get to see other tests there possibly if not the 18t sprint ripping up that track ought to be cool too. Especially if you start off setting fast time records at that track. I do how that someone let's the World of Outlaws know about that track so they can scout it out and add it to there weat coast swing schedule next year. Thanks for sharing this different but fun to watch none the less little video. Good luck in the up coming outlaw cart season. May you have a good one. Have fun take care

Hey Tanner I have been following your for a while and sure have enjoyed watching and cheering you and Carly on. I just subscribed to the channel, my brothers and I have raced in the north west with a sprint car on pavement as well as a super modified about 15 years ago. We had alot of good luck at the Roseburg speedway and this brought back alot of memories. We are from salt lake city utah, we ran with the NSRA sprint cars and ran the whole tour for two years and finished second both years to Trever Montgomery from Victoria Canada. Wish you all the luck going forward and hope you get to race at Roseburg.

Will be interesting to see how this plays out. We don't really have the car counts in Oregon to divide up to another track if they have weekly shows.

    • @TannerHolmes

I don’t think Roseburg plans to be a big weekly track

That is one seriously cool track.. might turn out to be the next second best track in the country next to Knoxville's. You are gonna have a blast with this track Tanner.. you should like going super fast.. too crazy for me .. just think you gotta another track that is near you to win at.. oh yeah Tanner it was Anthony macri guy that mopped up the woo guys .. you'll be head to head soon.. he did it two nights in a row like last week .. haven't seen him since though .. but did see Allard win and you can beat Allard... This track looks like a canadate for silver crowns..I think Carly would love that kind of car it's her style of fearlessness and would like that style more than you. Watch the last crown race a girl named Kaylee Bryson came close to winning.. I can see Carly flexing her muscle there at that track

Tanner you need to see the photos of Arrowhead Speedway which used to be West Siloam Speedway in Concord, Oklahoma. That place was completely demolished and built back up into a nicer dirt track. Looks like the pits have some form of pavement, the grandstands are new, and it appears they totally redesigned the track. So it should be a nice facility when it opens next year hopefully...

They put dirt on that track 30yrs ago but couldn’t get a good car count and the local asphalt racers refused to convert their cars to dirt. I’ve been there many times with the NASCAR west series.

I had a chance to pit crew for a friend that had 2 dwarf cars. 1 gas and 1 alcohol. One night he told me that I was getting my turn to try it out. I came home that night and told my girlfriend that I had sex with my clothes on. Wow what kind of fun. These cars were both set up for asphalt.
A couple weeks later my son went with us. I got another chance but this time was his alcohol car. I pulled in and my son was going wild. I asked what was up. He said DAD you pulled a 17 second flat lap. Wow I can’t begin to express the fun I had.

I ran 4cylinder class in Eugene until they turned it into a mud pie track, the last two races I ran were at Roseburg, sold my car because we were a guest class once a year?, was pondering building a new car?, but seeing what they've done to the track in this video clinches that as a negative!

Compared to a sprintcar, that must have been like pushing a cinder block around a puddle of mud. It does look like getting them rotate through the corners is easy to do though; perhaps even easy to over-do. 😆👍

I raced dirt midgets, drove a friend's dwarf car one night. Heaver and less HP, not as nimble, but great entry into racing.

Awesome track I'll have to get down there. I do have to say though that "several hundred" miles from Washington might be a bit dramatic lol its not even 200 miles from Portland/Vancouver and it's only 350 from Seattle. Decent little road trip, but I don't know if I'd call it several hundred lol

in terms of track improvement, especially when it's a new track, or brand-new-to-the-owners racing style, expect it to be rough for a bit. Without a start, how can you improve? You know?
