    A dwarf car is something I wish they had more of in Pennsylvania. If there is enough races and support in Pennsylvania I will go buy a dwarf car. I hope they pick up soon in Pennsylvania

      I know that it's 3 years on, and I don't believe that anybody had responded, but I would say it's never too early to start learning something new. As far as driving regulations at that time of your life goes, I'm not sure. I got my first vehicle when I was 14 and my dad will let me drive around the block a few times here and there but I was able to modify it for 2 years before I actually got my license. Due to your pfp, I see that you're still racing. Keep it up! I always wish that I had gotten into it. I'm 35, now tough..

    My local track near Montreal Canada introduced their own 'budget' version of Dwarfs in the mid-1990's using Chevette front clips and a Toyota off-set rear end. Their OEM style steel wheels and horrendous homemade bodywork never made them too visually attractive.

    My favorite analogy I’d use when people asked if dwarfs and legends were the same. Was to say they were related like Porsche and vw.
    I’d love to be on your show someday when you’re doing dwarf car stuff.

    Do you guys have issues breaking output shafts? I'm considering picking up a cheap older 1k or 1250 car and converting it to do some drift events on kart tracks. Wondering how they would hold up to clutch kicks.

    Is the door part of the cage that opens and shuts to get in? If so what keeps the door shut? I'm physically disabled and thinking of getting I see that doors open so it should be easier to get into than crawling through the window prostock or late model street stock.

    These Dwarf Card are simple a remake of the old sportster's that ran in the 70's with a different engine.

    Legends cars are full spec, can anyone build a dwarf anyway they want? Legends look a good size bigger, they are 5/8 scale they say, are these 4/8 scale?
    btw, I have a 37 chevy legend body making it a street car. also btw, well done video.

    I was at a racing convention outside Philly during the late 90s. I was 14 and came with my family. Dad was turning wrenches on a late model and getting into aircooled VW modifieds. I saw these cars. Never knew they existed. I loved the idea. Dad, however wasn’t thrilled. The idea of opening doors on a race car didn’t appeal to him. Plus, the display car ran off propane. The idea of compressed fuel to was like driving with a bomb on the back of the car. I was still all over these things, but he would have none of it

    Awesome video, how long do those clutches last. Are you just running the stock motorcycle clutch?

    • @metalmanglers1026
      @metalmanglers1026  5 років тому +1

      Thanks for the compliment! Yes, we run a stock Kawasaki clutch. If nothing stupid happens, the clutch will last a full season, about 20 races. There's not a lot of stress on the clutch because it's mostly used to get the car moving and not touched after that.

  • @temeritymotorsports1152
    @temeritymotorsports1152 Рік тому

    Great video guys! I have one question though. How do you mount the clutch slave cylinder? Isn't the driveshaft adapter in the way? We are building a car with a k7 GSXR 1000, and are working on various design decisions for it at the moment.

    • @metalmanglers1026
      @metalmanglers1026  Рік тому

      We ran a ZX-10R motor. It has a cable actuated clutch. There were no interference issues with the driveshaft adapter.

    Can a mod lite be converted with a different body to run in dwarf car classes or is a door mandatory? Also can you run a quick change rear end?

    • @metalmanglers1026
      @metalmanglers1026  Рік тому +1

      Most Modlites chassis are different and not Dwarf legal under WSDCA rules. I'm not sure if a door is mandatory or not. Quick change rearends are legal.
