I was hurt in a car crash and am a widow. My hips and back are very stiff. I have even had strains of my hip flexors. I search hip isolation excercises and am very glad your video was 1st on the list. I tried the moves while on my back and several loud pops came about. I'm looking forward to trying this daily! Thanks for sharing!
Wait do people really get taught how to dance as kids?? Who teaches them, parents? Or is it intuitive learning? This is a genuine question, I’m here because I was never taught 🙃
@@lauren697rose Idk about other schools but there were optional classes in my school where you could pick any one out of art, music, dance etc (but not a lot of kids choose dance, including me. I was more of an art person). I however learned to dance intuitively by simply joining my mother when she danced. It was one of her favourite hobbies haha. So I guess you could say both?
@@lauren697rose Many of these kinds of dances are cultural. Think about Hula dancing, belly dancing and traditional African dances (the origin of twerking and Jamaican wining). European dances are less hips-oriented which is why I think y'all have w harder time making this movement.
This is literally amazing I grew up in a toxic house hold very rare fun or room for expression and natural movement of flow become naturally stuck and stiff this helping a lot thanks girl
Yes not only some of best moves, but clear, slow & consise that those of us (even older) who didn't have lessons can follow & build solid base steps which most likely most important, very grateful!
Very serendipitously, I wrote in my dance notes to today learn/practice hip mobility. Your video was recommended in my feed. I love your guidance. I'm gonna use this regularly for easier hip rotation & more range of motion. Thank you.
You've done a great job of explaining this for those of us that aren't that great at dance. Thank you for breaking it down and making it easy to understand. Enjoyed it. Big Thumbs up.
I was on 3 simple hip hop move when i got the notification I just did it and its very useful I think i will spend more time working on my hips move Thanks teacher🤗
The minute you did the isolation hip, i had a flashback of a certain reggae dancehall butterfly tutorial. It was you! Glad to have found this channel, keep up the good work!
Tysm i wanna dance because alot of my family knows how and learned them selves, this tutorial was very helpful but the only hard time im having with it is remembering steps and the left to right movement

This video is SO INCREDIBLE !!!! Your explanations are RIGHT ON POINT !!! My body is sooo stiff but I'm trying to get there ! Your instructions inspired me honestly cuz I can see my hips are starting to respond well ! Just a question, how many times or how long do you recommend this exercise for someone who barely moves & have never even danced their whole life ? lol Thank you SO MUCH
Wanna ask you a few things since you said you never danced and I'm on the same boat. When it comes to hip isolations what did you found more difficult ? Tho I understand the moves and can make them I find difficult to keep up with them for more than 5 secs . I don't know if that makes sense but after a few seconds that I'm doing them pretty well it's like my body erases these moves from it's memory and starts dancing like I'm having spasms. Plus after a point my hips are getting tired. Of course free styling with them or combine them with other moves is not on the table yet.
@@Αφροδιτη-ψ9ο You just gotta keep doing them. Your body forgets because it doesn't come to you naturally yet. It's also a work out so of course it's going to be hard to do it for too long when you're still starting. Just keep at it and eventually you'll just want to do it when you hear a good beat.
If you relax and bend your knees a bit you'll be just fine. You can easily tell if you're tight, if you are, don't keep attempting it while tight or else your body will learn it wrong. Relax first and then attempt
Thankuu, I’ve been dancing for years but I usually dance boy dance where the hips are not very used. I’m a girl but my shoulder is bigger than my hips and much more isolated but I’m now struggling with my hips.
Thank you so much, and especially mirrored video, love your style and you share in way that True no prior lessons person can follow easily. Subscribed & practicing ❤
Mohamed Orayith first, I did try but my hip and abs too stiff, so when I shake, they move together and it took much calories. It must take a while to seperate the move. No pain no gain
Low back problems usually come from tight hips and hamstring. Try doing yoga moves like triangle pose and sacral chakra yoga. It opens the hips. It seriously helped me so much!

Hi there and thank you so so much for your excellent videos. A question please, do you watch people dance when they sign up with you or just do the moves like we are watching a video like this. Thank you.

I have to say that I have had excruciating lower back pain that extends into my legs and your hip isolation and hip moves have helped me tremendously. So anyone else with lower back pain, these tutorials are for you! Thank you so so much.

TYSM! My hips are stiff as hell and this video really helped!
30 years old, and I'm finally learning to dance with my hips
This video is brilliant, so beautifully explained ❤
thank you so mucch.. I have been improving thank to you ..
While contracting your abs or keeping the abs relaxed?
Also, do you focus on relaxing your lower back or tightening it?
Mohamed Orayith first, I did try but my hip and abs too stiff, so when I shake, they move together and it took much calories. It must take a while to seperate the move. No pain no gain
I keep everything else neutral and relaxed, if you tense then the hips wont be moving as easily 👍
Xuan Hiep Nghiem yeah yeah true!
Keep it relaxed

Step 1: be hispanic, carribean, or brazilian
