Peter Harness discusses continuity errors that include the year 2021 and 2023. The entire sequence of events takes place in 2021 and was due to editing flaws. Lots of confusion on every blog and discussion of constellation and this clears it up from literally the creators mouth.
Oh wow that’s good to know. Every channel I’ve watched have mentioned the two time lines. That’s crazy it wasn’t caught since that is a massive mistake.
The comment about him eating a lot because maybe things do not taste right if you are in the wrong reality reminds me that Alice smells wrong to Jo if she is in the wrong reality so I think there is something to that.
It felt like they were really pointing it out. But we havent had Jo mention it. It might be a red herring. Or it might be something big. I hope we get a season 2..
I think Bud was the hero, but he was so bitter and angry about his experience in space that he became a raging alcoholic. People kept calling him a liar and didn't believe he walked on the moon. Bud mentioned to the reporter (before he pushed him overboard) that he FIXED the problem on the ship and his crew members were alive, and then all of a sudden they were dead. One thing I don't understand is what Sean said about Bud and Henry not switching bodies, but switching consciousness. If that's the case, then why did Henry complain about not having his glasses when he switched places with Bud? If his body didn't change, his vision should be fine.
Bud Caldera was the one who succeeded and kept his crew alive while Henry failed. But they switched realities and Henry was living Bud's life and vice versa. With the new switch in the finale, they both went where they belonged.
@@seans_take No, just the opposite. As I explained, Bud was the hero and Henry was the failure, but they switched places during the Apolo 18 incident, so they were living each other's lives until they switched back at the end of the season, so now they are in the right place.
I found the analogy of a child trying to fill her mother’s loss by creating a parallel universe inside her head along with the Alice in Wonderland Through the Looking Glass’s very lose adaptation very poetic; and it also created an intriguing plot for a sci fi series. Lots of homages to Kubrick and Tarkovsky showed the creators of the show were well aware of their content . Thank you for your reviews, I think the director ‘s explanation for only two realities is an Occam’s Razor answer and your speculation about many more realities is still valid! Looking forward for more reviews.
@@seans_take I found something that might help if we won’t get a second season. An Amazon show Tales from the Loop. With Johnathan Pryce and music by Phillip Glass. It has quite the similar story.
I've absolutely loved your intelligent and insightful take on this series, including the explanations of the paintings for example. Here's something I don't understand (aside from WHY this amazing show was canceled 😭): Henry told Irena early on that he hadn't heard from his "brother" in years, "thank God." He got the better deal between the two of them by a LONG shot - he got to come back as a hero and get a Nobel Prize he didn't actually deserve, because his crew are the ones who actually died - he swapped places with his counterpart who fixed the spaceship and saved his crew. So why is Henry the one digging for answers with the CAL experiment? If his counterpart Bud hasn't bothered him in years and he's sitting pretty here as the big hero, why go messing around with this? He screwed himself over big time! He later tells Bud in the mirror that he invented a device that seems to be making things worse - the CAL. If he had just left well enough alone, he most likely wouldn't have been swapped back to his original universe. The irony is that after years of taking credit for a success he didn't achieve, now he has to take the fall for crimes he didn't commit. Another brilliant plot twist in this spectacular show.
@@seans_take Omg yes, Dark Matter has been such a letdown. The problem is it's reducing parallel universes to such an overly simplistic structure that it winds up being more of a dull soap opera in terms of character drama, rather than a complex sci-fi drama with a level of mystery that you'd have to make an effort to understand. I'm actually struggling to find something current or recent to watch now. I'm looking forward to Season 3 of FROM. In the meantime, I'm watching Lost for the first time, fully prepared to be disappointed by the ending. Are you watching anything good?
If i was watching anything good i would be talking about it 😀 hoping the Boys is good this season. And the finale umbrella academy. And maybe orphan black echoes... fingers crossed
I enjoy your reviews, but the constant editing out of brief pauses/breaths, both at the ends of sentences and in the middle of sentences, is extremely annoying and almost makes the videos unwatchable. There's a reason we pause at the ends of sentences, and it's not only to take a breath, it also gives the listener a moment to digest what has just been said.
Thanks for the feedback.. i use an automated tool to remove the dead space. I will try to get better at fine tuning it to leave a little beathing room.
I think Bud is eating a lot because he is enjoying Henry’s large bank account. He ordered a ton of room service and then a fat meal at the nice restaurant with Irena. I don’t think it has much to do with either of their eating habits😅

That does help streamline the thinking.

I’ve listened to many different people covering this episode but you were the first that mentioned Bud’s eating.
I am going to take that as a compliment. 😀 thanks for being here.
@@seans_take it definitely was meant as a compliment. I’ve enjoyed covering of this series and subscribe d.
Thank you for another good video!

I’m glad you mentioned not know the bud/Henry situation. I can’t figure it out either. Bud doesn’t seem like the hero to me but Henry did.

@@JulieBarbara it’s a shame that Apple cancelled the show. It had some problems but I still enjoyed it.

You said it better then i did. I thought it coukd just be a character thing. But you broke it down very well.
I thought it was funny that Bud was stuffing his face with Henry’s money. Great review!
LoL a commentary of the soviets or cold war era or how we treat our veterans or cosmonauts/ astronauts … perhaps? All together?😁🤷🏻♀️
