I dont have that model machine nor will I prob ever haha but enjoyed the video! Your dads way of explaining things in such a basic way is easy to understand.
Love the comment about drivers vs operators. It is getting really hard to find them, been in heavy construction 20 years and can't believe how bad it's gotten for skilled operators.
For my "day job" I made several week long trips to the factory in Mexico that assembled that 7405. It is a former International Harvester factory that Deere acquired in the early 80's. They got it from IH as part of a patent lawsuit settlement on some part of a corn head design.
No matter the size of farm a person has…..there’s plenty of maintenance to be done on equipment. I love the comment about keeping a tractor half full of fuel on a hillside…..I’ve been there with a combine, you wanted to be full of fuel in certain fields.
Love the wrestling shirt. Spent most of the video trying to figure out what it says with my dad. I farm and wrestle, super cool to see someone else that did that.
Spring oil changes leads right in to the spring/summer season. Time to get everything running. There is rooster somewhere that approves. That story about the loose clamp reminds me of the time of when we were filling silo and the oil filter blew right off of our 560 Farmall (it was running wide open on the blower). There was no time to shut it down without spinning out crank bearings. It was a bad day. F*** filters are no longer used by me.
Hi, I see your address and I wondered where you are. I grew up around Ellsworth WI, Pierce County. On a dairy farm. A little smaller than your operation. There are some good hills in that part of the country. I also watch How Farms Work. They are further south but still in the hills. Your dad is right, oil is cheaper than parts. Be careful and have a good year.
Never thought about putting plastic container under filters to catch them good idea! Don’t know how many times have dropped it and goes all over and makes a mess😡 always fill my filters up with oil before put them on though just think everything is empty and that was what dad always did!
First of all congratulations and GOD BLESS YOUR UP COMING MARRIAGE AND FAMILY and the next question does the power grease gun stop when the insert is full or u just guess 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻👍👍👍🙂🙂🙂
Dk if it works on deers, but I put a shop vac on the hydraulic filler and very little comes out on our agco challengers. Learned that trick the really hard way,!
An much noise as your Roosters 🐓 like to make they should have a u-tube channal so they could have something to really crow about!! (OUCH) .Not all JD fuel filters are a bear to change. I have a JD 3320. I have changed the fuel ⛽ filter a few times. It has a fuel system that is self priming.Works great.I really that. When I farmed I had two JD 4020s. They were a son of a gun to say the least 🙄. Enjoy watching and seeing it warm enough you did not need a coat to stay warm. Is spring just going to be one day this year?? Thanks 😊.
Start looking for help in the semi retired people in your area. Tons of experience right under your nose. Trust me on this one. An untapped resource throughout our great country. But most employers won’t hire due to obvious age bias. Good luck!
I use a cardboard box cut and lay flat under the tractors every night after work is done and in the morning look the cardboard for oil leaks it surprising to fine little drops .
Have quite a few good operators around me, when farms changed hands the new owners thought the honor of letting them hold a steering wheel of one of their tractors was enough to keep them coming back...........It didn't work. Now they are middle age with kids/wives/lives so they don't have the time now, but I always thought if a guy would have bought them a meal at night, and slipped them a few bucks you could have got alot of stuff accomplished WITHOUT working on everything being torn up. We didn't have enough to keep us boys going, so nobody was here much.
I was so happy to see you fix the dummy bump on the front grill.

Love it!!! Keep them coming. Exactly what I love to see mixed in.

oh oh i hear killer rooster lmao
You might want to consider some nitrile gloves when changing oil. They will keep your hands cleaner.
What oil are you running in these puppies?
Did I hear you right getting married????
Sounds like a heifer is bulling
Thank you for responding
How often should a guy change the anti freeze?
