Mode 1 is the most powerful, not mode 3. Mode 3 is for “comfortable riding”. Check out the explainer sheet. This bike has more to give! 👍

Just bought my 2017 cbr1000rr for $4500 almost finished rebuilding the bike original owner dropped the bike. Can't wait to ride the bike for the first time one of my favorite 1000s
Great take Chase! From time to time Honda will come out with a bike model that is as modern or more modern than their counterparts. They will sit on it like a chicken on an egg until they absolutely have to change in order to stay in the game. This sounds like one of the upgrades. I know this because I lived it. I'm an old, not so bold rider.
power mode 1 is max power... chase, you didn't even get the full high way experience!

In mode 1 it loses its mind at 5k and you don’t come back from space and time travel until you’re back under 5k.

William Jefferson Clinton I don’t own a cbr but I do know the gearing is super tall and a lot of bikes chug and rattle cuz the rpm might be starting below idle or for whatever reason they all do it. Try holding the clutch in until you get going faster and see what happens

I own a 2018 CBR1000RR, have put 20,000 miles, and am still in love. The bike is reliable, gorgeous, and has plenty of power for my needs. My only modifications were to put an Akrapovic full exhaust, Power Commander V, K&N air filter, and Dynojet Autor Tuner. I plan to keep her even if I get another bike to ride on longer distances. The review that you did was on point and unbiased.
Sound is EVRYTHING, not just one little bit. Because you listen to the bike non-stop everytime and every where you go. Sound is everything!

Yamaha R1 in 2004 was beautiful. They looked worse and worse every remake since. Now the chin lights make it look like a bottom-feeder fish.
To each his/her own I guess. I think this, the R1, and the Gixxer1000 all look like complete shit!! '11-'15(Gen 4)ZX10R all the way for me.
I'd still do a ZX-10R today over the rest. I can't figure out why the ZX-10R looks so good and the H2/R looks so hideous, from the same company.

Well, CBR1000RR have 189HP @13,000 RPM and 85.6ft/lb @11,000RPM and the bike weight is 199KG(210KG with ABS) which R1 has 190HP @12,500 RPM and 73.2ft/lb @8,790RPM and the bike weight is 199KG. Compression ratio: CBR1000RR is 12.3:1 Yamaha R1 is 13.0: 1. I don't know man I saw a video of CBR1000RR going the speed of 299 and other bikes still can easily take over! Oh and R1 have Crossplane engine, which is more agressive.

I just bought one with an oem quickshifter, ecu flash, cat delete, and tune. And I can say it pulls more earlier and way harder than the cbr in this video. It makes a huge difference. The bike either way would be a blast but being able to pull in 6th gear from 4-6k rpms and still feel the gs is a whole nother ball game
Watch the false neutrals.. kicked guy Martin off (during TT) and John Mcguiness (before the TT) and also MCN tested the bike and 3 out of 4 riders got a false neutral. Rather have a blue suzuki gsxr1000r or zx10r for the price my personal preference :)
I went with the Suzuki 1000r. The thing is a missile; my body wraps around it perfectly.

you have the mode strengths backwards...Mode 1 is for the track...most torque and most engine braking Mode 2 is for twisty roads and mode 3 is for the rain..
Chase, you had it backwards. Mode 1 is full power, mode 3 is like the rain mode on other bikes. Great bike, just bought this exact bike back in June. I'd like to see you test the Aprilia RSV4 if you can get your hands on one. I'd also like to see you test the 2017 CB1100EX.

I like how compact the bike is. Especially the front is so small and clean like you would expect a motorcycle to be. Compare to something like a ZX10 where the front/dash is gigantic like they're trying to make the bike look and feel huge, makes no sense.
I recently bought a 5 year old Busa with only 1000 Miles on the clock, bikes great but in hind site I love the shape of the big Honda's, Blade,1000rr etc.Wish I loked for one of these first.
That bike looks mean as hell. I'm not into sportbikes, but Honda is going to make me a beliver.

I actually got that bike. Power band is crazy took me a while to read my owners manual...Mode 1. Track Mode Mode 2 curvy road, mode 3 Street riding. the power band adjusts based on mode. go into user one and turn that traction control off. she lifts off every time

One thing I hate from Fireblades is their full electronic steering damper. Call me old fashioned but I prefer the non-electronic linear steering damper or like ZX10, linear but electronically helped.

I have an under seat exhaust on my 11 CBR600RR and they suck in the summer. It makes the seat super warm.
That thing is nothing compared to the gixxer’s 1k stock exhaust
I never have that problem and have gone riding for 7 hours in one day literally riding. Check to see if you have the heat shields ( that aluminum looking stuff ) under their. You're supposed too if not buy some it's cheap it reflects the heat.

No Brembos, rubber brake lines with the Y visible, no electronic suspension... what is this 2007? IMO this bike better be the cheapest liter bike, or have 200+ HP.
Yeah it is the pleb version but it has 200hp. The S model and the SP I think are the more premium
You don't need any of that shit to have a badass bike. These bikes are already too expensive as it is.....also, brembos are overrated, the gsxrs have them and my zx6r stops waaaay better than that shit.

I will say that the big 4 liter bikes should all be priced right at $10-11k. Honestly what is really new other than everything getting TC and ABS? You know they only did that because Europe requires it.
Unless you're riding the bike to its maximum potential, which I am almost certain you don't have the ability, nor do 90% of us, you don't need electronic suspension

berendbmx in the US we don't get those models.
the US's only street legal 125s i know about are things like the grom and z125. as for 250s the US has supermotos, ninja 250, and the gsxr 250 but that's about it i think. There could be more that I don't know of but most people think if you're looking at 125s and 250s just get something between a 300 and a 500
I called a 1000cc bike a "SuperSport" once and got raked over the coals.....since SuperSports are 600cc machines. Just a minor detail. Generally a 1000cc machine is referred to as a SuperBike.

Not sure about the different modes as I can be indecisive. If there has to be modes I'd rather just a standard mode and a race mode, one for everyday city riding and one for faster roads and the track!

there should be a highway just for bikes like this... It can accelerate to 130 from 80 in the same time it takes a 2018 mustang GT with 460hp to go from 60 to 90.. 2nd gear pull results in a buck twenty at least. This thing seems usable too and i get the sense that braking performance with ABS would be like 100 ft from 70 mph.. 10x the performance of a normal car 5x the performance of a sports car.

Everytime I watch a video with a 1000RR, I change my mind about buying it. This bike is scary.
The only two confortable RR liter bikes are gsxr 1000 L7 and Aprillia RSV4. Y prefer the Gixxer, RR version, super fast, super power, super confortable.

@chaseontwowheels I wasn't even in the market for a new bike. A buddy and I rode down to our local dealer and I saw the SP model! They had a good price on it so I couldn't say no! It is so much fun! It came with quick shift, titanium tank and exhaust! Fun review!

wish that manufacturers would make a good looking ''stock'' exhaust that comes with the motorcycle which is able to pass the emission etc, i mean just look at the h2 if you are on the left side it looks so good, stand on the right side the whole exhaust destroys the look, same as this one.
