Glad that was an easy fix. Thanks Pops for helping them with the batteries. Only burn pine in a bon fire to much creosote. Need hard wood for warm wood stove fires. Oak, Maples. ❤
I heard from the last video it was Rachel and Sean from Back to Good @B2GOG who gave them their old batteries from their RV for the fix. I don't think that Popz was their savior this time, although he has performed many other miracles for these Homesteaders! Love you Popz
You can use pine but only on a hot fire with a hot chimney...it burns the creosote and it doesn't build up like in a brick chimney. I agree the stove chimney needs to run inside the barn as far as possible to extract the most heat from the fire. I see alot of "old wives tales" posted that have been shown to not be entirely true.
@GBuds_RVremodel we had a woodstove in our house in Michigan and 2 insulated pipes going through house to outside and the creosote made a mess of our pipes.
Thanks pops God is smiling down on you,for all the things you do for the many homesteaders I watch. Thanks for blessing Gary & Mary with the new batteries. And Sean also for helping .🤗❤️❤️
You can use that for kenneling to start the fire cause it burns hot so your fire can start faster. You can use the pine. We use it for starting our fires.
So happy for you to have been able to get the tractor....can you imagine where you WOULDN'T be without it?!?! Good thing that Gary is so handy and can fix things so you don't have to take things to a repair shop every time something breaks. 🥰
WOW, that easy (and cheap) repair was certainly a gift.....I'm sure you'll have a MUCH Merrier Christmas!!! That great luck couldn't have happened to a nicer family!!! 🥰
That’s what I would do dig another hole right there in that sink hole that you found put the stuff in the hole burn it and then fill it back up the ash from the trees will put nutrients into the ground that you need because it’s a lot of clay there
That stretch ARM is Sooo completely awesome. The strength that is definitely needed for all these big timber projects, plus all the digging. Higher probability of success vs breakdown.
I AM SOO IMPRESSED BY GARYS ABILITY TO FIGURE OUT COMPLEXITIES OF THIS HEAVY EQUIPMENT & MARY REJOICING WHEN THE ENGINE STARTED IS PRICELESS, GLAD SHE ASKED, WHAT DID YOU DO...GARY QUICKLY DESCRIBED. WHAT A TEAM, MANY LEARNING FROM THESE HOMESTEAD VIDEOS!!!❤GRMA NAN
So nice to have that big machines to clear those vines, no more back breaking tugging and pulling. i have never seen those type of vines in Canada,at least at places where we have lived.
Unfortunately expensive equipment comes with expensive repairs !! Hope you find the problem and can get it fixed without to much jingle involved !! Thanks for sharing!! ❤ Mamma Carolyn
Please pray for me me that I get to feeling better soon and please continue praying for me in your prayers thank you guys in advance . Love you guys videos ❤
Hi Gary, Mary and Miss Miley. That was good getting the backhoe fixed without to much expense. Now you have the machine more than earning her keep. You’re a professional operator Gary for sure. All work well done👍👍❤️❤️🌲🌲🇨🇦
So happy you got the backhoe fixed. I enjoy watching your vlogs . Thanks for inviting us to follow you on your homestead journey. Last video I watched you had mentioned you need a name for the backhoe. My suggestions would be 1. Fierce or fiesty Frieda or 2. Big Bertha/ Bula 3. Tornado. Because she can uproot and knock down things just like a tornado Just a few suggestions...
Glad you know not to burn pine. I have missed a lot of your videos. Have you insulation on your ceiling? Do you have a fan blowing down from there to push the heat down? My stove goes for maybe 4 hour, then it needs filling. I'm in Wisconsin, where it is now 20 some degrees. My home is a very old brick cheese factory. Cement floor, so I am always putting wood in.. Good luck staying warm. Lots of warm clothes and blankets!! No matter, country life is the best!!
AT END, THE MOUNTAINS APPEARED...BUT SAW THE ROAD, SOO GLAD WHEN GARY SAID THEY HOPE TO PLANT ROW CEDARS SO HAVE SOME PRIVACY IN FRONT OF WHERE HE TO BUILD HOUSE!! GREAT IDEA!!😅
Mary , you all moved on your new property June 15th right? _____So December 15th will be 6 months. This is absolutely unbelievable what you all have done. It is so beautiful . I am so happy for you,
Great work Gary and so glad you got Ole Yella sorted out, she's putting it in. As for the thumb Gary, check out another channel I watch called Captain Kleeman. He's got an old ford 555 that he's been bringing back to life and got a manual thumb for it that he added to his hoe, it was cheap and he shows how he fixed it to his machine and where he got it from. Stay safe you guys and keep it going
Here's a suggestion from my career in the aviation industry. All those loose and dangling wires should be shielded and firmly attached up tight to the engine and not be hanging loose. When dealing with used equipment, you should assume that the previous owner/operator had no idea what they were doing past using the tool til it quit. I know you just jumped on this thing and beat it against anything until it showed you its weak spot. Just like the hoses, the wiring should be mounted securely and out of harms way. Just like every capitalist manufacturer, they bu>ld these things with designed weak spots...they know where they are but it's not always evident. Part of my job was fixing those type issues on aircraft...it's not different on any construction equipment. Glad you followed the signs and tracked down the failure. Lots of satisfaction in fixing something and discovering weak spots to address into the future
My dad built the big airplane, he believed the same principle, if he built us a go cart or anything mechanical, that’s how he did it. No danglies so we wouldn’t get hurt either. Great job, loved the video.
Hey Mary, just a suggestion, but raised garden beds are the best to keep those critters out of your garden. You will still need a fence around, raised beds to keep the deer out.
Dear Gary and Mary, So beautiful! I'd rather see mountains than junky trees. Yes, I vote to make more holes for burning. Less work for you! You are doing awesome!Go, Jemstead!
What happened to the top outside portion of the inside barrel fireplace? Thought it was supposed to be over the top of the barn roof. Did not see it there in this video.
Good to see the big girl back up and running . I know its a video but I had my fingers crossed it would start with the recharged batteries .😅😅😅 Hoping you have no more hiccups with her.
Greetings from Northeast Ohio. I’m curious as to why you don’t dig a hole and bury those stumps. There is nothing more satisfying than watching those vines being yanked out of there and away from choking out the good trees. Good work.
John Deere’s farm equipment comes with a lot of computers. When something simple in one of its tractors or threshers breaks, a farmer can’t just fix it themselves. Even if the farmer has the technical and mechanical know-how to make a simple repair, they often have to return to the manufacturer at great expense. Why? The on-board computers brick the machines until a certified Deere technician flips a switch. John Deere equipment was so hard to repair that it led to an explosion in the used tractor market. Old farm equipment made before the advent of onboard computing sold for a pretty penny because it was easier to repair.
Great video...Gary you can really work that tractor with ease and get the job done...Looking great...Great videoing Mary...Very enjoyable video.... SUBSCRIBE ❤
Glad that was an easy fix. Thanks Pops for helping them with the batteries. Only burn pine in a bon fire to much creosote. Need hard wood for warm wood stove fires. Oak, Maples. ❤
🙋that big girl is a Proud Mary she just keeps on Rolling 😂

I'm so glad it was an easy fix 👍... I love watching her remove stuff ❤️❤️
Really happy you got her fixed Gary. You are a smart guy. Thanks Pops for helping them with batteries. God bless you. 😊❤
Its looking really good. With the vines and undergrowth gone the trees that you left will grow and become bigger trees.
You will definitely need a fence around your garden!
Thanks pops God is smiling down on you,for all the things you do for the many homesteaders I watch. Thanks for blessing Gary & Mary with the new batteries. And Sean also for helping .🤗❤️❤️
It's amazing the mechanical knowledge Gary has. He's a jack of all trades 😊❤ purring like a kitten!
You can use that for kenneling to start the fire cause it burns hot so your fire can start faster. You can use the pine. We use it for starting our fires.
😊
Thankyou Pops for helping Gary & everyone else who helped with the batteries. God Bless

Ahhhh the Christmas lights look so awesome and the little gingerbread girl reminds me of Makelyah. She is such a hard worker.
Good to see you back in the saddle Gary. Glad you’re feeling better.
That stretch ARM is Sooo completely awesome. The strength that is definitely needed for all these big timber projects, plus all the digging. Higher probability of success vs breakdown.
Great progress today 👏🏻👍🏻👏🏻🤗❤️🙏🏻❤️🤗👏🏻👍🏻👏🏻
Use the small sticks for burning during the daytime and the large ones for nighttime. Save the pine ones for outside bon fires.
So happy to see the tractor working again. Great progress!

Call the backhoe "Citrine". It's a yellow gem. It also reminds me of citrus which come from Florida, just like the backhoe.
Great news!!Gary can't stop working he's busy man just like mary is.

You could call your big machine the BEAST.

Great job, loved the video.
My husband would agree with tying up wires. Nothing should be hanging down😊
Thank goodness the backhoe wasn't crazy expensive to fix!
Happy for you guys. Equipment always need work.. nice progress. Hi Ms Mary and funny Gary. Greetings from snowy Alberta
Love watching all the progress. Much love from Indiana 🤍
Hey Mary, just a suggestion, but raised garden beds are the best to keep those critters out of your garden. You will still need a fence around, raised beds to keep the deer out.

All the trees that y’all pushed over is good fire wood unless it’s pine
Great video...Gary you can really work that tractor with ease and get the job done...Looking great...Great videoing Mary...Very enjoyable video.... SUBSCRIBE ❤
Why don't you use the sinkhole for burning the brush??
Great job look great
So what do you figure it actually cost you to run the backhoe, gas, oil, filters, parts ect?
What is it about pine that you don't like it for firewood? Educate me.
Burning pine creates an oily substance in the smoke called creosote. It can collect in the chimney and cause a chimney fire. Very dangerous!
I would plant Dogwood trees, magnolia trees or fruit bearing trees.
You are going to burn all your firewood before winter starts
