You need to isolate those chickens that are getting pecked until they heal. If you don’t, the others will continue to peck them until they die. Also, if you bury a feeding trough half way in the ground, it will work for the pigs.

I don't comment often because i watch on my TV. I have watch Jason since before he went to his grandma's farm and have seen his growth. What i want to say is i was very unsure if Daniel could do this but every video i get more impressed in her. She just works so hard at whatever is needed on the ranch. I grew up in the country and don't think i could keep up with her.

If you think a feed room is a game changer wait until you finally decide to have your 60 acres feed your animals and notice the amount of money you’ll save. Portable electric net fencing (premiere 1) allows you to make pastures as big or as small as you want and just move the animals to a new pasture once they eat down the one they’re in.

Good spot for a barn cat, it's kitten season , rescue a couple of kittens both same sex or that you spay or neuter... I volunteered for humane Society a lot and it's so sad what the thousand's of kittens are abandoned or turn feral. Barn cats are a must have with feed around and , I remember the rats get as big as a small dog down there😱. Mouser will be a life saver for y'all.

My grandpa always raised pigs....he built his own troughs and fixed them to the inside of the wooden fence. (So they wouldn't get knocked over)

Not loving those dogs by making them jump like that. They will be lame and in pain at an old age. There is also the possibility they will need hip replacements - no joke - from being forced to jump like that every day. I've seen it happen to ignorant dog owners in my own life, and those dogs were in PAIN every single day and could barely walk around from the wear and tear on their hips. The pure laziness of Jason Crocker not wanting to open a door and close it behind the dogs to feed them is disgusting.

So let Adam know in the future to use the closed end of the box end wrench to tighten a bolt. It provides more lock up and prevents stripping out of the bolt compared to using the open end of the wrench. Just explaining, not complaining here folks. The open end should be used to lightly seat the bolt and the closed end (round side of the wrench) is to tighten and fully seat the bolt so it does not get stripped out/damaged.

Love how things are going so far! Just a suggestion, maybe move the nesting boxes a bit higher so the pigs can't root around them or stick there heads in. Also when they start laying in those boxes always check before reaching your hand in, i reached my hand in one of our one time and almost touched a chicken snake underneath the chicken. 😅
For a trough suggestion, when we had pigs and goats we built wooden ones that could sit on a stand or sit on the ground, and some were even built on the side of the barn. We took a tractor wheel one time, split it in half and used that too.
As for all these so called 'experts' in the comments thats think just because there a so called 'member' of a group does not make them a professional nor expert in any field. So there opinion is worth less then spit. We know your dogs, animals are not abused or neglected. Abused or neglected animals wouldnt be acting like yours do.

Great redo of barn.. just have to change as animals grow. Glad you got feed troughs and have a feed storage room. That will be so helpful. Animals are so curious, after all this is their home lol! Another Crocker work skills… remember chickens can get in the feed, make a mess, plus rats n mice. Perhaps screen in the whole room. Watching other farms, and they screen feed room in. Have to try to see what happens.

Pool noodles and zip ties across the fence in the barn where the dogs jump over.. also look into Sky Thongs for a little more shade outside, especially if the sun ends up beaming inside the barn

If we did that, we'd be picking up pool noodle pieces for weeks haha between the dogs and goats... they'd chew them up like crazy

You’re being very nice Jason But: you’ and Adam should decide which job is number one, ranch hand or Adam putting out videos. If there’s ranchhand work to be done, he should be doing that and work his video work when he can.

Maybe bury some field fence where the new dirt is to stop digging

Cat litter pans are nice and low so they would make great feed dishes for the little ones and Miss Breakfast. Maybe nail it to some boards so the don't get pushed all over the yard.

Jason, if I could make a suggestion, I think you guys would benefit from a tamper tool to compact the dirt a little when you do all that shoveling. Also maybe get a flat shovel could help for the floor clean ups. Just some things I've had that I didn't realize how much they benefit until I had them. Also it all looks great.

What will keep the chickens out of the feed room ? A chicken egg is a chicken egg other than the color of the yolk. The yolks change color depending on what the free roaming chickens are eating. If you dark yellow yolks feed them marigold flowers.

There is a huge difference between store bought and farm fresh eggs. Store bought the yolks are paler, and they have no taste at all. Farm fresh the yolks are richer, tastier, and darker in color.

Stick a couple of solar panels on the roof, then a few fans in the barn, keep em cool 👍 and maybe add some batteries, then you can have lights in there too 😉

A solution for a feeding trough for the shorter animals is window flower boxes. They are only about 8" tall and you can get them in various lengths. You can also mount them to the bottom boards on the outside of the shed fence at ground level so they cant knock them around.

Buy you some reusable outdoor fire traps. I got about 10 of them around the farm and they all catch hundreds of flies each every day. I’ve tried all different kinds of beats the best by a long shot is chicken livers and water a little under half full with water
