Shri Oommen Chandy, the Chief Minister of Kerala inaugurated the mega event Jayaragangal. Kerala CM also honoured legendary singer K. J Yesudas and music director M Jayachandran. Both Yesudas and M Jayachandran have been contributing a lot to the Malayalam film industry - one through the voice and the other through composing.

Jayaragangal is a mega stage show conducted by Manorama Online, commemmorating the 20th anniversary of music maestro M Jayachandran in the Malayalam film industry as music director. Creating new history, music director M Jayachandran has won the Kerala State Film Award for Best Music Director for a record number of six times. In 2005, he also won the state award for best male singer. So far he has composed music for over hundred films. The mega stage show Jayaragangal was held at Trivandrum on November 28.
