I usually don't like RGB but this policarb version is gorgeous!
By far the most tasteful branding I've seen on a weight that is essentially just a name printed on it
wow this seems like a killer value, also love seeing a 65% supporting o ring with a two piece case! I’ve got a bakeneko 65, but having to compress the o ring around the right blocker hinders the feel vs. my bakaneko 60 (and Alas60).

People have said a lot of bad things about Rama, myself included, and rightfully so, but one of my favorite things I enjoyed about the boards produced by them are the branded screws. That tiny detail is honestly one of my favorite things.

ah, this sounds amazing. i've been on a bit of a hiatus from the hobby and now i'm thinking about getting another board; preferably 65% or tkl. i know there are crazy nice budget boards like this one coming out. is the mode envoy still worth it? i love the sound and, most of all, the instockness, but maybe there's been an even better release i've missed?

Looking for a budget keyboard, coming from a G815, this one looks gorgeous but seems a little bit expensive to start with (this'll be my first custom build) since it doesn't come with any switches or keycaps, any suggestion? Right now I'm thinking of getting a HI75 or a Sugar65.
Edit: forgot to mention, don't have a preference on size, maybe between 65-80%, neither do I have a preference on switches (I just want them to sound good since I come from brown low profile Logitech switches and comparing them to some custom builds mine sounds horrible). But I definitely don't wanna go simple route, I would like to get some cool keycaps or a translucent keyboard like the one in this video.
It's pretty hard to know what you want out of a keyboard if you haven't had prior experience with customs before. I would recommend that you think about what aspects of a keyboard is important to you since everyone has their own preferences. A few other things to consider are price, looks, connectivity, material quality, weight, sound, typing feel, and whether or not you would want to tinker around with the keyboard after you build it. It would be helpful if you can determine what's important to you and what's something you don't care about so that it's easier to recommend something over another. If all you're after is a good sound and cool looks, most keyboards can fulfill that need nowadays so just pick what you think looks the best for a good price.
Go for the Sugar65. You'll get a better keyboard than this one for half the price

how would you rank this in terms of diffusion, sound and feel to the moontower? I've been so desperate to get something similar to the moontower that I've been considering making my own board since they always OOS :(
All equal to the moontower, diffusion is just as good. The moontower definitely has a slight bit more of a bassy sound signature, but I'll chalk that up to the switches I used this time around since I dont have much experience using different switches in this board.
If you want something that's kind of similar to the moontower an acrylic tofu 60 redux might do the job. I own one and the rgb diffusion is pretty decent, it also sounds and feels pretty good if you use some silicone standoff covers or o rings for the screw holes and build it plateless. I bought the tofu redux as a replacement for the moontower because it was just so expensive and I wanted the rgb backlight without having to pay that crazy price for it, it has been my endgame ever since so it might be satisfactory for you. Of course, this keyboard is definitely more bang for your buck so you might want to get this instead, but there's that option if you want a 60% like the moontower.
I love the tofu60 redux shape but non hot swappable pcb is a dealbreaker for me :/ maybe this could be a good replacement for the tofu60 acrylic.

Nuxroskb is the creator of the Re65 which you had a video of it, in term of the price, this is definitely a more budget friendly option, also its lighter. However can you compare the difference between the two, although they have different price points?

if you want a thocky build, then this keyboard isnt for you cause its designed to have no foam and clacky
the best you can do is to use a plastic plate like pp or pom with a deep-sounding switch

u can buy the udnerglow rgb hotswap for the tofu but I highly recommend getting the krush because its just simply better in everything except for the rgb since tofu case is 1 unified block
Yo Alex does this kit come with both the Top Mount & O-ring Alu plate? It doesn’t say that in the info on the GB page, but I saw you had both in your kit?
It comes with an alu top mount plate that also support oring mount and the oring too. You can buy the topmount-only and oring-only plate as extra, they will feel slightly different to the default plate, fyi
How does this compare to Mode Envoy besides the price
mode is overpriced imo, that same amount of copper for the backplate is night and day difference. you pretty much are paying for the "designer" rights to the board.

The new mode65 is outrageously expensive once you add everything up. I get it, it’s A nice design, but dang, all that money and they cannot even get the RGB right. (The bottom underglow is dimmed)

I also strongly disagree that the boards sound the same. It is not the microphone, there are no filters and it’s a pretty flat mic. But there are also a lot of variables involved. For example your listening device, your volume, compression online etc

You keep talking about pvd on the weight, while its clearly mirror polished as you can see on the recessed areas being matte (engraving and usb port). A pvd chrome finish would deposit on these areas as well.
It says on the IC that it is PVD finished for the silver. I assumed it was polished at first but corrected myself later in the stream.

could you not do the soundtest with the same 7 to 9 keys you press for every single video? every board sounds the same this way.
They really don't sound the same, and i believe consistency in testing is important.
@@alexotos it might not sound the same for you, but for some people watching the video. if you spam the space bar so frequently, it does drown the sound of all the other buttons. also it doesnt help that your far mic position makes every board sound like a muted clacky.
