I wasn't allowed to wear crop tops as a teen, but when i joined college and started going to the gym, i started wearing them because they looked cute and were comfy with my gym leggings or pants. And my mom was okay with that and then i started wearing them with jeans too 😂. I think that's a sneaky way you can try because indian parents need baby steps for things like these. They don't mean us any harm but all this is so new for them. We often forget that our parents are growing and maturing and trying new things the same way we are. I understand where they're coming from because society has over sexualised women's bodies a lot and there are a lot of men out there who would cat call or stare at you (they do it anyway but if you dress even slightly racy, the stares are so much more creepy). I understand that parents want to shield their kids from these bad experiences.
